New Orleans, Louisiana, 3:00pm
The man continued to track the wild energy, it took him all over the French Quarter, where massive crowds of people were gathering, all for Mardi Gras, as the parade was just getting started, with a few street dancers and performers, wearing elaborate costumes, walking along side on themed parade float, dancing and throwing out little beads, gesturing for the people in the crowd to dance with them.
"For shame, for shame..." The man passed this since, muttering, and shaking his head.
As he continued to track the energy, the amount of encountered ghosts increased, from a few every couple of miles, to a ton every 500 meters.
(Why are there so many more ghosts now? I must be getting closer to the end, then I can get my answers, and go relax at Mardi Gras.) The man continued to shoot the ghosts, not bothering to ask them any questions, as they all had a crazed look in their eyes, full of malice.
In one encounter, the man followed the energy though a alleyway, and he saw a ghost without it's legs, once the ghost set eyes upon the man, it flashed a even more crazed look than the other ghosts, and crawled towards the man with renewed vigor, yet just as it was 20 meters away from the man, it's life was snuffed out, by one single bullet to the head.
In another, the man was standing in the middle of an dark alley, 100 meters from a ghost rushing towards him, he rasied one of his guns and shot at the ghost's body, tearing though it's body, yet the ghost, either not registering the pain or not caring, still charged forwards to the man, until he shot the ghost though the head.
It drop down limp, and skidded across the ground until the ghost was at the front of the man's feet, before disappearing.
{Will this energy lead me to the one who will answer my question? Or am I walking striaght to my room?} The man paused, suddenly, as he gained another thought, as the man looked off into the distance, with his fingers to his chin, adopting a serious face.
{How can ghosts die again? When ghosts die, do they go to mega death and meet Mega God or Mega Satan? Then get thrown into Mega Heaven or Mega Hell? Hmm, something to think about.} Stopping that thought, the man continued turning over rocks and venturing though supernaturally darker alleys, meeting even more evil ghosts.
Before long, the man found himself at a large two storie rundown grey brick house with asphalt shingles, and multiple small and large intricate windows, decorated around the house.
Even rundown, this house still looks beautiful and unusual, as this house doesn't have the same style, as the buildings around it.
"Surely no ghosts would have taken up residence in his house, I don't want to deal with another evil ghost." The exasperated man walked up to the door, tired from the countless ghosts he killed, but before he could knock, the door swung open.
Being caught off guard, the man reacted quickly, jumped back, and reached for his guns, yet stopped when he saw a old male ghost standing at the door, with an Asian descent, rocking his white hair, styled into a mod cut, wearing a brown suit with a white shirt and brown dress shoes.
It was clear from the wrinkles on its face that this ghost lived for a very long time, experiencing all life has to offer many times over.
The man stopped reaching for his guns, but if a single unexpected gesture comes from the ghost, then the man was ready to pounce.
Yet that didn't stop the ghost's look of pure fear and surprised, as in the ghost's eyes, the man's spirit was radiating from every inch of his body, with a shade of grey, he has never seen before.
"It seems like you have just gotten your
'Magus cells', otherwise you wouldn't have all this energy radiating from your body. Come inside, we have a lot to discuss." The ghost, quickly calmed down, and gestured for the man to come inside.
The man, showed a little bit of surprise and confusion on his face, heighting his vigilantcne even more, which the ghost picked up on and stared at the man, waiting on his decision.
"What are Magus Cells?" The ghost looked at the man, with a exasperated sigh.
"I have a lot to teach you." And with that the ghost, turn around and disappeared into his house, not exchanging even a single glance at the man after he turned around.
The man, after completing for a little, went inside and was momentarily stunned, with the beautifully crafted design of the interior.
The floors all had wooden floor, the wood also seemed like it was from a very expensive type of tree. The walls had a mix between white painted bricks and dark grey painted bricks.
There was a fireplace with the same color scheme, white couches with a dark grey rug, facing the fireplace, a kitchen eith a grey marble counter, and the same color scheme as the whole house.
The stairs upstairs also had the same flooring, with white carpet on the stairs, and once you go upstairs, u are met with this big open space with multiple different glass cases, all filled with an items.
The roof also seemed to be made from another type of expensive wood. There were even some chandeliers, handing above them.
"Woo. Impressive, you built this by yourself?" The ghost was walking around with the man, with the man observing everything their was in the house.
"Yeah, when I was younger, I was somewhat of an explorer, I traveled all over America and settled down in New Orleans, one of the best states for ghosts." The man walked all over the house with the ghost in toe, explaining what Magnus Cells are.
"Magnus Cells are cells hidden deep inside the bodies of all races across the globe, they are located deep inside the blood of those races." The man nodded, with newfound understanding.
The ghost looked at the man, seeing that he understood it, the ghost continued.
"These cells gives a person unpairable power, some effects include enhanced strength, denser bones, sharper brains, enhanced senses, and a borderline sixty sense." The ghost continued to talk about Magnus Cells, until they were in a new section of the house, covered in a strange dark material, with ruinic symbols, glowing in a faint red.
The man, seeing the strange section of the house, felt a strange pull to it , yet he reassisted it, then paused and look at the ghost, with sharp eyes, positioning his hands near his guns.
"What was that pull I felt?" The ghost, seeing the man resist the pull, impressived him even more, yet the ghost remained calm and nonchalant.
"That was one of my defenses, in case somebody breaks into my house, and takes some of my items." The man wasn't surprised by this at all, as from the ghost's stories he heard growing up, some ghosts liked keeping and processing those items.
"Also where are we going?" The ghost, paused, and thought a bit before continuing.
"We are heading to a special place, inside of my house, that I used to control my increasing cells, it can also be used as soundproofing and energy proof, meaning nobody can use energy to peek though the room nor will any energy seep out." The man, started imagining what sort of things you could use that for, and he found 2 to 3 ways he could use as something else.
After the ghost spoke, they both moved towards the place, where the ghost practiced, in silence, as they both had nothing to say, the man, because he figured that they should wait until after they sat on a couch to ask his question s, and for the ghost, it was because he simply didn't have anymore to say, and so they walked in silence.
As the two approached a black door with a few small tiny gems on it, the ghost put his hand in front of the man, and gestured for him to stop.
"If anyone other than me try to open the door, they will be instantly teleported to the core of the sun." The man stood back, as he watch the ghost walk up to the door and pushed it open.
As the door slowly opened, a whole nother was on revealed, showing a vast greenland with bundles of forests dashed around the land, sky has big clouds that looked more like big fluffy bundles of fur from a massive white dog, massive mountains with large waterfalls flowing into massive lakes, and two suns, floating above the world.
The man was stunned into silence, as this world looked more out of a fantasy realm, than just a random door, the ghost was standing, near the man, waiting for him to stop admiring the scenery.
After a few moments, the man turned to look at the ghost, and gestured for him to walk-n-talk, which the ghost obligated to, with the ghost taking the lead.
"How did you even find this place?" The ghost, hearing this gained a little nostalgia, looking off into the far distance, yet he stilled replied in his usual tone.
"I told you, I was an explorer, who explored the lands." The ghost stopped talking and continued to lead the man to the place, while the man just looked at the ghost with a "No shit" face.
"What I meant to say is, how did you find that door that leads to this place." The ghost, looked off into the distance again, but this time, he paused, seemly recounting his days, yet unnoticed to both a flash of white flashed in the ghost's eyes, making him forget.
"I think I stole this door from...ummmmm, I'm sorry, I can't remember." The man, understood, as he himself is a old man who sometimes forgets things, yet he now had this strange feeling regarding the ghost that he couldn't put his hands on.
"Also, are their any animals in this world?" The ghost continued walking straight, and replied without looking back.
"This world was too big of an space for me to explore by myself, so I only encountered a mixture between harmless and dangerous creatures, so I don't know if there are anymore creatures, but yes there are animals here, but you'll see when you see one."
The man was surprised that the ghost talked for that long, speaking about some nonsense before getting to the point. Yet in all that speaking, the man heard the word "Was"
"What do you mean by "It was too big." Did the world shrink or something?" The ghost's tone shifted from his normal tone to a sad one, yet the man sworn, he could faintly hear a hollow voice coming from the ghost.
"The world did shrink, I only figured this out when I decided to enter this world to relive my glory days, a couple of days ago. I don't know what is causing it, but I assume it's the spot." The man, knowing well if he ask, some shit is going to happen, reframed from asking, instead oping to walk in silence, for the rest of the way.
They passed through thick forests, encountering some small animals, with soft fur and big fluffy ears, crossing massive rivers, and jumping over some small canyons.
As they approached the spot, the land and sky around them, all shown signs of decay, the once lush green grass, now barren with no signs of plant life, the once blue sky, now the darkest shade of black, making the area feel unnatural and eerie. This decay was slowly spreading out from the spot, almost like this area was distorting the world.
Passing though, the ghost and the man, both paided it no mind, even though the man wanted to ask, he still reframed from doing so.
The closer they got to the spot, the more barren and more darker the sky got, until
they were now 100 meters away from the spot, and they could see the area.
The spot was a platform with the same color as the sky, covered in a dark back haze, with the ground around it having a similar black to the sky, covered all in ruinic symbols.
"Oh hell no, fuck you" The man, who was always at the ready, quickly pulled out his gats, turned and started shooting the ghost at point blank.
The ghost, not expecting this, got hit in the head, yet this wasn't enough to kill him, and he quickly transformed into his other form. Growing tall, this form had a horrific body, that would instantly make a otherwise same person, insane, as it's body was made from multiple different human pieces, his arms, made from eyes with human hairs in-between them, head, made from arms, his legs, made from fingernails, the bullets got stuck in it's body, then it roared like thunder.
As soon as he roared, the once darkest sky became blood red and started rain heavy droplets of blood, the three mixed together to make a hellish scene.
This frightening creature would frighten even the bravest of people, yet the man was there by myself fighting this thing. The thing looked at the man with endless malevolenice and malice.
"How did you know, Ryker?" The thing spoke in a horse booming voice, yet Ryker endured it, as he was feeling extremely danger, being emited from the giant.
Ryker didn't know why this thing knew his name, but he was going to let that show as a weakness.
"Why should I reveal my secrets to you?" The thing didn't get agitated by that, and calmly replied.
"Because you're already died."
Ryker, confused, looked down and saw a hole, the size of an arm, though his chest, he looked back up at the thing, before collapsing.
