On November 28th, 2024, Andrej Sapkowski published Rozdroże kruków (unofficially translated as Raven's Crossing/Crossroads or Crossing of the Ravens). This new addition to Sapkowski's universe expands on the story Geralt tells Iola in The Voice of Reason 4, setting the action in Kaedwen in 1229.

Within Rozdroże kruków, Geralt mentions that the Kaer Morhen pogrom occurred in the year 1194. This date differs from the older fandom speculation, which places the pogrom in the later half of the 1170s. Despite the discrepancy with Triss' thoughts in Blood of Elves, which suggested a different timeline, the date 1194 is now considered canon.

This fanfic was published on November 17th, 2024, following several months of dedicated work. In light of Sapkowski's new release, I have decided to retain the original dates as per the older fan speculation. While the new canon is acknowledged, I believe the previous timeline better aligns the story I wish to tell.
