The waves roared as they crashed one after the other in a sea that was becoming more and more stained with the color of blood, leaving in sight a grotesque scene that did not match the old descriptions that had been given to this beach, the place that was once considered a sanctuary and a paradise for the persecuted was now only the constant reminder of what the aslv were capable of doing.
Leaving a gruesome sight in one of the last refuges that the former arg army members could call home.
Giant cones composed of nothing more than deformed and bulging flesh rose unnaturally over twenty meters high, leaving in turn the sound of voices coming from these macabre structures, which did not stop desperately asking for death, some of them instead threw piercing screams into the air.
But the suffering of those wretched voices was only made worse with the help of the crimson beasts that nimbly pounced on the living flesh on their six legs, devouring and tearing the flesh of their victims with their three jaws that gave the impression of having the same effect as a chainsaw turning its teeth to shred a target.
And as the five rows of teeth in each jaw, as sharp as a scalpel, slid through the flesh and dipped the corrosive venom they carried with them to cause even more pain to their victims, those voices slowly faded away until they finally disappeared in a last desperate attempt to be heard.
It was not the sudden silence, however, that made the beasts begin to fidget and look fearfully at their surroundings. They had briefly assumed that they had effectively done their job by ending all the lives of their victims without giving them a chance of being found and rescued, but this thought was completely erased from their minds when they encountered the cause of their initial terror.
They stood paralyzed almost as if trying with all their might to deny what was in front of them. Before the crimson creatures stood a figure standing in the sand.
Resembling a human being with the exception of being more than five meters tall, the being walked looking through the cones, minutely observing everything that was happening around and although he only had two eyes the creatures could feel as if that mysterious being was watching all of them like a god who sees everything from above.
With the exception of his head, the giant had cyan-colored armor covering his entire athletic body, an axe in his left hand and an angry expression that could barely be contained, the six-legged creatures realized that there was little they could do to try to convince the man to stop any action that would attempt against his life.
When the man moved out of sight in an instant they realized that their lives were already doomed from the moment he had arrived on the beach.
However it was not as if they could have done anything to avoid being killed after all the structures in which they were in charge of delivering suffering and despair, had been built by their masters and they were made of organic matter which was made by thinking beings that had been human beings initially.
The surprise came when the crimson beasts realized that of their five billion brothers there were now only five individuals of their species, all gathered together and piled up in the same place, without even having the opportunity to move, as if there was an invisible force that was holding them without giving them any opportunity to move, barely letting them breathe as long as they put all their effort into it.
Because of this they had not noticed the bodies strewn all over the sand of their fallen brothers, which had been destroyed with a single blow, a cut as clean as devastating that gave none of the beasts any way to recover and when the last five realized this they could not pay too much attention because they feared more the white-haired being that looked at them in a contemptuous and angry way over his shoulder.
The giant in shining armor spoke for the first time.
This was done with the ald machine?!
Said the man stating a fact to himself rather than really asking, despite the situation the crimson creatures were in they all kept silent without even daring to look the man in the face.
Well if none of you intend to speak it doesn't really matter, my patience has run out already.
When I finish speaking with a stern tone I look at one of the beasts pointing at it with the palm of my hand.
You will be my catalyst.
The beast was stunned watching as his brothers were lifted off the ground by the same invisible force that had oppressed them in the beginning as if they were levitating, and when he saw how his brothers were being stripped of their life until they looked like withered and dehydrated flesh he realized that having died from an axe blow would not have been so bad, he thought realizing that neither he nor his brothers had legs left to even try to escape and when he looked around he saw how the birds flying through the vast sky were motionless like a statue.
A nardel...
Those were the last words the creature could articulate.
**********
Five hours before the arrival of the aslvs
Matthew a young and enthusiastic man found himself thinking agitatedly, debating to himself whether he should do it or not.
The elders of his Zorit homeland had already warned him. He should not for any reason try to communicate with the outside world.
But Mateo believed they were paranoid at best, but more than anything else he believed they simply wanted to oppress him and the others so that they could stay in power and the elders could continue to manipulate them as they pleased so that they would be their servants forever without being able to see the wonders their kind was capable of.
And yet he was afraid of what could happen, during all these years he heard story after story of how some humans had come to power, humans who should never have had the opportunity to even carry a weapon.
The aslv a clandestine organization in the eyes of much of humanity, one that arose from a dispute of ideals.
It was said that more than four hundred years ago their ancestors the dorf were persecuted and hunted to near extinction by their executioners. Losers of a war that began by the struggle to be right about what was the true path that humanity should follow.
There were those who thought that the treatment of non-humans was too cruel, those who would later call themselves dorf, and on the other hand there were those who called themselves aslv, those who thought that death was the only real way to deal with a non-human in the least ruthless way possible.
And although at the beginning these two ways of thinking sought to unify a part of humanity to bring it to its glory, in the end it all came to a decline when the wrong people came to power.
The elders had said it before the same three leaders of aslv who had their comrades killed so as not to have to compete with those who differed from their way of thinking were still in power even today.
So trying to contact the rest of humanity was not an option for them who were hiding from the aslv, the risk was too high to try.
What would happen if instead of contacting an ally they got the attention of an enemy, and that's if you didn't count the Melbore.
Humanity's super soldiers that made even the strongest and best equipped soldier look like a mere mortal.
If it was true what the elders said about them, if they really could move faster than the speed of sound and the weakest could effortlessly split a continent in two then there would be nothing they could do to call for help, all those tales seemed nonsense but the very fact that the elders still looked like young people despite being over three hundred years old for the most part already showed that it could not all be fantasy without more having been able to achieve biological immortality, but even if everything they told about the melbore was an exaggeration that had gone too far, the mere fact that some melbore had allied with the aslv to exterminate the dorf already showed that they were at a disadvantage.
So what could he do without even ¡he super soldiers who were supposed to be in charge of protecting humanity were the ones cornering them like rats.
What would he do if the melbore who helped the aslv in the past found out about him and decided to return to finish his job.
If he could not trust even his supposed protectors, what could he expect from a government that had no interest or obligation to help them.
Although, as he had already thought, there was also the possibility that they were simply lying to him to keep him under control.
But if the Aslv really existed and were as sadistic as he had heard, if not even their leaders were capable of respecting human life, then he would not only be putting himself at risk, but all the inhabitants of Zorit.
And yet he had already come this far, he had secretly built an artifact capable of transmitting a small message to the nearest planet that if he was not mistaken did not belong to the Aslv, at least as far as he knew.
He couldn't do it, he was anxious, so much so that he almost destroyed the device he had been working on for months.
He was so afraid he was shaking and breathing was a challenge and as cold sweat ran down his face he finally did it.
Although for a few seconds the signal ran through his room but was suddenly stopped before he could even leave his house, Mateo decided to turn it off just seconds after it was launched and in frustration destroyed the device he had worked so hard on.
Thinking to himself that it was impossible that they had discovered a signal that hadn't even left his neighborhood, although he was aware that this thought was nothing more than a consolation to himself.
And although these thoughts were meant to make himself feel better, he would have been right if only he had waited a couple of minutes longer to turn on his device.
But whether by a bad joke of fate or an unfortunate coincidence his message was activated before the aslv scouts passing through a nearby solar system left.
The luck of Mateo and all the other inhabitants of zorit was so bad that the moment the last aslv ship was about to close the dimension in which they were traveling Mateo activated his message.
And although the distance the signal traveled was not even close to a hundred meters, the distress message ended up being intercepted.
Mateo had underestimated what he thought were nothing more than the inventions of people who wanted to keep him locked inside zorit.
So when he saw giant structures he had never seen before looming in the sky he was in a state of shock, almost feeling as if his heart was going to shoot out of his mouth from his rib cage as it pounded so frantically.
He had asked for help but somehow knew this was not what he was looking for as he set out to build his contraption to begin with.
In the end mateo could do nothing but watch as everything unfolded around him, he could see people staring at the sky just as stunned as he was, others were fleeing in terror to hide and some even went so far as to say they would welcome their visitors with joy, after all mateo wasn't the only one who thought the elders were lying.
Watching as everything descended into chaos Mateo breathed a last sigh as everything around him descended into darkness and his vision became blurred. Whether it was good luck or bad, Mateo died of a heart attack that day without having a chance to see what would happen to his family and friends.
The inhabitants of zorit quickly realized that their visitors were many things less than friendly.
They all began to flee after realizing what their invaders were planning to do, especially the elders who were the first to realice what was happening and who did not hesitate to escape from their attackers abandoning all the people in zorit to their fate in hopes of escaping in one piece.
But even with all the advantage that the elders had over the younger ones, they did not manage to save themselves, all were brutally massacred, starting with the youngest ones.
At least they were given a quick death thought the adults wanting to have the same luck when they saw the ald machines, the ones that once in the past served to cause fear and terror to the non-humans would now be the same ones that would finish them off.
There were people who thought it was impossible for a human being to be so cruel to someone of their own species as to use them as food for the ald, but those thoughts changed when they saw the aslv, the beasts in human form.
Mateo's message would get through when his signal was picked up on droel.
