Chapter 20 - Slide slides

"Okay, stop talking about me." Shen Qingli gave her an assuring smile. "I'm fine."

Before they could chat more, Shen Qingli's cell phone rang.

After answering the call, her expression changed slightly. "I got it."

When she hung up the phone, Xu Chunian asked, "What's wrong?"

"Something about work." Shen Qingli's brows remained furrowed.

"It's okay. If you're busy, you can go first. It's getting late. I'll play with Zhuzhu for a while. Jiang Huaixu will come to pick us up and take us to the old house later."

Only then did Shen Qingli look at her. "They suddenly stuffed someone into the film crew. I..."

"Go ahead, go ahead. I'm okay here." Xu Chunian waved her hand casually. "Your comics are my top favorite. Don't ruin the filming!"

"Let's make an appointment next time."

"Sure."

Only then did Shen Qingli feel at ease and left, looking back several times.

Zhuzhu, who was in the corner, came over.

Xu Chunian bent down. "What's wrong?"

Zhuzhu pointed at the Lego in the corner.

"Zhuzhu is so great."

This area was originally for kids, so the Lego here was much simpler than the ones Zhuzhu played with at home.

"Do you want to go on the slide, baby?"

Zhuzhu furrowed her delicate brows.

"It's okay. I'll catch you at the bottom, okay?"

After thinking for a moment, Zhuzhu nodded.

The slide was like a maze. Zhuzhu followed a group of children, waiting in line to slide down. When it was Zhuzhu's turn, she clamped her little pig doll under her chin, sat down with support, and a little girl a bit older than her crouched down and asked, "Are you ready, little sister?"

Zhuzhu nodded.

"Then I'll push." Saying that, she grabbed Zhuzhu's shoulders and gave her a gentle push.

"Ah!"

Zhuzhu slid down and was steadily caught by Xu Chunian in her arms.

Xu Chunian looked down. Zhuzhu had a smile on her face, and her narrowed eyes were like crescent moons.

After carrying her out, Xu Chunian crouched down to catch the next girl.

The little girl waved her hand. "No need. I'm already a big kid."

"Thank you." Xu Chunian crouched in front of the two kids.

"It's okay." The little girl pointed at Zhuzhu's hand. "What happened to the little sister's hand?"

"The little sister's hand got hurt from a fall."

The little girl took a look at Zhuzhu. "Does it hurt?"

Zhuzhu shook her head. When they came out, Xu Chunian had tied two braids for her, and after playing all day, they were a bit loose and drooping.

Her eyes were bright.

"You're so brave." The little girl took out a stamp from her pocket. "This is Peppa Pig, and this is a little rabbit. Which one do you like?"

Zhuzhu didn't like that pink hair dryer (referring to Peppa Pig), so she pointed at the little rabbit she liked.

The little girl opened the stamp. "Can I stamp it on the little sister's hand?"

"Is it okay, Zhuzhu?"

Zhuzhu nodded and stretched out the hand with the cast. The little girl opened the lid and pressed it on, and a vivid pink little rabbit was stamped on Zhuzhu's hand.

"It looks so nice." Xu Chunian touched her head. "Thank you."

"You're welcome." The little girl put the stamp away. "This is the reward for the brave, as my dad said."

"Are you a little brave one?"

"My dad is. He's a soldier." There was strong admiration in the little girl's eyes.

"So amazing."

"Nuonuo." A woman's voice came from over there.

"Mom." Nuonuo put away the stamp. "I'll go first. Goodbye, auntie, goodbye, little sister."

"Goodbye."

Xu Chunian watched her leave and saw her mom, a very beautiful woman. The latter was startled when she saw Xu Chunian, then quickly regained her composure and nodded at her with a smile.

After that, Nuonuo threw herself into a man's arms. The tall man held the child in one arm and hugged the woman with the other.
