Chereads / A Not So Friendly Rabbit / Chapter 3 - Games End

Chapter 3 - Games End

Penny looked around, her fear and despair still thriving. But, a new curiosity came through her. Confusion aswell. Where was she? Conejo then began to speak, his voice reaching the girl's ears, "This is reality. I used my powers to lure your family here. In fact, many families have played my game! This forest is dead in reality, I create the illusion of life. Even that flower field was nothing."

So that was it. All nothing. Just illusion. All Conejo's lure for a sadistic game. This was meant to be a family trip, perfect for some relaxation. Yet even if Penny escapes, she will have nothing left. The tears in her ducts continued to pour. Penny threw her flashlight at Conejo's face and began to run.

Conejo smiled and disappeared, his chase was on. Penny ran through the dead trees and bushes. Looking for somewhere to hide. She was running faster than her little legs had ever carried her before, desperation. She had nothing left but still wanted to live.

For what felt like miles, Penny ran. Sprinting through the dead brush was tiring, however adrenaline kept her body afloat and her legs moving. Eventually, she found a tree with a big enough hole for her to fit. She dove into the hole, pulling her knees to her chest to hide. Then, she heard a strange, disturbing tune begin playing, certainly because of Conejo. Then, his voice echoed...

"Run, run, away from the fun

Hide, hide, I am lurking in-side

Trying to run, but you are done

No need to hide from me..."

Conejo had begun a terrifying lullaby. Penny was at tears even more, almost like the dryed out ducts were refilled.

"Your soul is mine to relish

Your death I will certainly cherish

One, two, where are you

Three, four, I shall max out the score

Five, six, I will break your bones like sticks..."

Closer and closer the voice got. Penny holding herself tighter, squeezing her eyes shut as if to escape. But there was none.

"Seven, eight, accept your fate

Nine, ten, now our little game

Will

END!"

Conejo's arm grapped Penny's legs and dragged her out of the tree, however she managed to wiggle her way from his grip. She ran once more, the sky was somehow getting darker. After minutes more of running, she saw the shadows of childlike shape. They approached her and spoke in unison, "Penny...you will be our new friend!"

"W-wha?" The little girl asked the figures.

"Why, you will join us in Conejo's stomach of course!"

"N-no-"

"Join us!"

"No...

"JOIN US!"

"NO!"

"JOIN US!!!"

"NO!!!"

The shades disappeared, laughing in a similar manner to Conejo. It was quiet for a while, until Penny heard the worst voice possible, Conejo. "Join me." Conejo gripped Penny's throat, his fingers digging into her skin. She couldn't utter a word. Nothing but shrieks and strained cries.

Conejo's smile widened, and he lifted her up, above his eye level. He opened his mouth wide, and his head began to change. His face had burst open, and now we're just rows of teeth, tongues, and eyes all in Conejo's head. Penny let out a struggling cry and Conejo's morphed head chomped down, Penny's body falling limp as her head was eaten, her soul with it.

With two more bites, the girl was entirely consumed and Conejo's head morphed back to its previous shape. Conejo wiped his mouth of Penny's blood, smiling to himself. He raised his arms and the forest came to life, another illusion. The cabin Penny's family was at reappearing, completely spotless inside. And with his powers, he made the family vehicle completely dissappear. Conejo's body began to compress and shrink, until he was in the form of a small rabbit once again. Awaiting his next victims.

A week later, a little boy named Roger and his mother, father, and older sisters were driving down a road that was rather empty. Eventually, they reached a turning point and began down a dirt path. After a few minutes of driving, they reached a cabin in the forest.

Roger climbed out of the car and ran up to the cabin, excitedly awaiting his family vacation. And the family bonding time would be a great thing for all of this family. Surely nothing would go wrong...right?
