Chapter 8 - A Thoughtful Surprise

The sun had barely risen when Jiayi knocked on Ye Chen's door. Her soft voice came through the door.

"Ye Chen, are you awake?"

Ye Chen stirred and sat up, still groggy. "Yes, Sister Jiayi. Come in."

Jiayi entered, holding a shopping bag in each hand. She was wearing a fitted sweater and jeans that hugged her curvy figure perfectly, her elegance making Ye Chen momentarily forget his sleepiness.

"I bought something for you," Jiayi said with a warm smile, setting the bags down on the bed.

Ye Chen rubbed his eyes, confused. "What is it?"

"Clothes," Jiayi replied, opening one of the bags. She pulled out a sleek black shirt and a pair of neatly folded pants. "I noticed some of your clothes are a bit… worn out."

Ye Chen blinked. "You didn't have to do that, Sister Jiayi. My clothes are fine."

"I wanted to," Jiayi said firmly, handing him the shirt. "Try this on."

"Sister Jiayi, I—"

"No excuses," she interrupted, crossing her arms. "Just try it on. I want to see how it fits."

Ye Chen sighed but nodded. "All right."

He took the shirt and started to turn away, but Jiayi stopped him.

"What are you doing?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Changing," Ye Chen replied.

"Right here is fine," Jiayi said casually, leaning against the wall.

Ye Chen's face turned red. "S-Sister Jiayi!"

She laughed softly. "Fine, fine. I'll step out. Call me when you're done."

Once she left, Ye Chen quickly changed into the new shirt and pants. They fit perfectly, hugging his frame in all the right places.

"Sister Jiayi, I'm done," he called out.

Jiayi re-entered, her eyes lighting up as she saw him. She walked up to him, her hands gently adjusting the collar of his shirt.

"Perfect," she said softly, her gaze lingering on him. "You look very handsome, Ye Chen."

"Thank you, Sister Jiayi," he said, feeling a little flustered under her attention.

Her smile widened. "You're welcome. Now, there's more."

"More?" Ye Chen asked, glancing at the other bag.

Jiayi opened it and pulled out a neatly folded set of casual homewear and… something else.

"This is for lounging around the house," she explained, holding up the soft clothes. Then, with a playful glint in her eye, she pulled out a set of colorful boxers.

Ye Chen's eyes widened. "S-Sister Jiayi! What is this?"

"Relax," Jiayi said, laughing at his reaction. "Every man needs comfortable underwear. I thought you'd like these."

Ye Chen looked at the boxers, his face bright red. "You really didn't have to—"

"I wanted to," Jiayi said, stepping closer. She placed a hand on his shoulder and smiled warmly. "You've been working so hard lately. This is my way of taking care of you."

Her closeness made his heart race. "Thank you, Sister Jiayi. I really appreciate it."

"You're welcome," she said softly, her voice almost a whisper. Then, without warning, she leaned in and kissed his cheek.

Ye Chen froze, his face heating up.

"You're like a little brother to me," Jiayi said, though her gaze lingered on him for a moment longer than necessary. "Now, try these on later and let me know how they feel."

Later that day, Ye Chen stepped out of his room wearing the lounge clothes Jiayi had given him. The material was soft and comfortable, and they fit him perfectly.

As he walked downstairs, he bumped into Meixiu, who was carrying a basket of laundry.

"Well, well, look at you," Meixiu said, her eyes raking over his outfit. She wore a tank top and leggings that highlighted her athletic figure, her playful grin as mischievous as ever.

"Sister Meixiu," Ye Chen said, feeling self-conscious under her gaze.

"Did Jiayi pick those out for you?" she asked, setting the basket down.

"Yeah," Ye Chen admitted. "She said I needed new clothes."

Meixiu laughed. "She's not wrong. You look good."

"Thanks," Ye Chen said, scratching the back of his neck.

Meixiu stepped closer, her grin widening. "What else did she get you?"

"Nothing special," Ye Chen replied quickly, but his hesitation made her eyes narrow.

"Oh, now I have to see," Meixiu said, reaching for the bag he was holding.

"Sister Meixiu!" Ye Chen protested, stepping back.

She laughed and backed off, holding up her hands. "Relax, I'm just teasing."

"Right," Ye Chen said, shaking his head.

Meixiu picked up the laundry basket and smirked at him. "You should thank Jiayi properly. She really went all out for you."

"I already did," Ye Chen said.

"Good," Meixiu said, leaning in close. "You're lucky to have us, you know."

Her words and her proximity made Ye Chen's heart skip a beat. Before he could respond, she kissed his cheek and walked away, her laughter echoing behind her.

Later in the evening, as Ye Chen was sitting in the living room, Lianyi approached him shyly. She held a neatly wrapped package in her hands.

"Ye Chen," she said softly.

"Sister Lianyi," Ye Chen said, looking up. "What's this?"

She hesitated before handing him the package. "I… I wanted to give you something too."

Ye Chen opened it to find a beautifully embroidered handkerchief.

"I made it myself," Lianyi said, her cheeks pink. "I thought you might like it."

"It's amazing," Ye Chen said, genuinely touched. "Thank you, Sister Lianyi."

She smiled, her eyes shining. "I'm glad you like it."

Without thinking, Ye Chen leaned forward and kissed her cheek. "It's perfect. Thank you."

Lianyi's face turned bright red, but she looked happy. "You're welcome, Ye Chen."

As the night went on, Ye Chen found himself reflecting on how lucky he was to have such caring and thoughtful sisters-in-law. Life in the villa was turning out to be more eventful—and more heartwarming—than he had ever imagined.
