A week later Lovie went to the DNA forensic laboratory to pick up the DNA test, and she was told that the results were ready, and they handed them to her. She thanked them and left the hospital. When she went home, she verified the DNA results and discovered that they were just as she had expected. Sheila is indeed not her father's child. Lovie found the situation intriguing and pondered how her father would react if he learned that he did not have any biological children, as well as how he would react if he discovered that his cherished "Catherine" had cheated on him.
"I should really help dad out by figuring out who his precious daughter's biological father is; that's what a good daughter should do," Lovie thought to herself wickedly. Then she recognized she didn't have the skill or money to find out about something that happened 20 years ago, so she clutched her head and considered what she should do until she remembered Damon. She knew Damon had previously investigated everything about her and was aware of all of her grievances against her family, so she decided to seek his assistance.
She ordered a delicious supper, and 30 minutes later the delivery man arrived. She paid and carried it to the dining table. Damon returned twenty minutes later, and she opened the door for him smilingly. "Did something good happen?" Damon inquired of Lovie when he noticed her welcoming demeanor and wondered if she ate the wrong thing, because in the past, whenever he returned for work, Lovie would have asked him why he always came to her place instead of his and would tell him blatantly that it wasn't time for their study session.
Damon finds it strange that she is now greeting him with such enthusiasm. "Nope, nothing good happened, but I got us dinner since I know you're coming here first directly from the company.". "Ok," Damon said, prolonging his word and gazing at Lovie strangely before deciding to let go of his doubts. "Maybe she's just happy today," Damon reasoned to himself. Lovie plated the meal, and they ate in silence. When they finished, Damon took the dishes into the kitchen to wash, and Lovie followed him in. "May I ask you something?" she said.
"What's it?" Damon responds, thinking to himself that he should have worked out that she needed something, which is why she was all smiles with him today, so she was trying to impress him.
"Ehm," Lovie began awkwardly, but since she needed his help with the investigation and there was no one else she could ask for help, she decided to speak up. "My stepmother behaved strangely last week when I mentioned a DNA test to her before I left home. I had my suspicions and decided to get my dad's and stepsister's hair for the DNA test, and I found out from the result today that they are not related, and I want to find out who my stepsister's real father is and when my stepmother cheated on my father, but I did not have the resources to do so; can you please assist me with this?"
Damon agreed to assist her, and just as Lovie was ready to express her gratitude, Damon grabbed her shoulder and told her, "You can ask for help at any time; you do not have to please me first; I will be happy to assist you at any time, okay." Lovie was moved by Damon's words, and she nodded. Damon pecked her on the forehead and returned to washing the dishes.
Lovie looked at Damon washing the dishes, and she entered her thoughts; she knew he would have been very busy at work and should have been tired, but because he didn't want to let her touch the water, he still volunteered to wash the dishes despite his tiredness; she thought about how he has been silently helping her without complaining and thought to herself that she wouldn't mind giving herself to him.
Lovie questioned herself if she truly disliked Damon, and she realized that she had already begun to like him but did not want to admit it to herself. She questioned herself if dating him was really a bad idea, because aside from that incident on that day, Damon had done nothing to offend her.
She snapped out of her reverie and glanced at Damon, who was rinsing the plates he had washed; she stared at his hands, which sign million-dollar transactions but are here in her kitchen cleaning dishes. She blurted out "Damon, let's date" before she could stop herself. Damon stared at her closely for a few seconds; as a result of his stare, Lovie almost retracted her comments, wondering whether Damon was no longer interested in her because he was taking too long to respond and instead starring at her.
Damon rinsed his hand and then rubbed it with a napkin before turning to Lovie and saying, "You don't have to do what you don't want to do; I already told you that I'm helping you out of my own free will; you don't have to feel pressured into dating me just because I helped you; I want our relationship to happen because we liked each other."
Lovie was more touched when she heard what Damon said and thought to herself that she will be quite stupid if she lets a good man like Damon go. She moved towards him and held his face "I'm not trying to date you just because of the help you've provided me or that you're going to provide for me in the future, although it may be part of it because no one has helped me like that before. You may think that what you're doing is insignificant, but it means a lot to me because no one has ever done anything for me.
But I'm not trying to date you solely because of that; I have good feelings for you, and I've realized that I've found myself liking you; I think you are a man of charms, and you are so handsome; wouldn't you think something was wrong with me if I didn't fall for someone who is not only handsome but also extremely nice to me, but if you don't want to date me because you think I'm only doing it because you're nice to me, you can do that too; it's up to you?" Lovie spoke, let go of Damon's face, and turned to exit the kitchen.
Damon dragged her back and turned her body to face him; he stares at Lovie's face and laughs foolishly, "I'm going to date you, of course I'm going to date you, so you liked me, when did you start liking me?" Damon said to Lovie, laughing foolishly.
