External Soul Bones are exceptionally rare and even more precious than ordinary Soul Bones. Not only do they enhance a Soul Master's abilities, but they also grant unique powers. More importantly, these bones evolve as the user's strength increases.
For Yan, the value of his newly acquired External Soul Bone goes beyond that, it's a pair of enormous wings. With them, he now has the ability to fly, giving him the advantage of aerial combat. Coupled with his fire attribute, this opens up new attack options. Additionally, in battles against stronger opponents, his ability to fly offers a valuable means of escape. After all, no matter how powerful a soul skill may be, it must first hit its target. For a Soul Master with flight, dodging becomes far easier.
Yan soon realizes that the soul ring has been completely absorbed. With a surge of energy within, four soul rings, two yellow and two purple appear around him. He feels a significant boost in his power, not only in his fire attribute but also in strength and speed. Most exciting, however, is the powerful energy radiating from the wings on his back.
Without wasting time, Yan stands up, takes a deep breath, and tries to control the wings, willing them to become a part of his body. With focus, the wings begin to gently move, and fiery energy surges through them.
Yan practices moving the wings, both excited and nervous. Initially, the movements feel awkward and stiff, but with each attempt, he grows more attuned to the wings, achieving greater harmony. With a firm leap, he finally takes off into the air, feeling an exhilarating sense of freedom. He arcs gracefully through the sky, diving and gliding, becoming one with the wings.
Exhausted but thrilled, Yan eventually lands and retracts the wings. With the External Soul Bone hidden, his back appears normal. After absorbing his fourth soul ring and the External Soul Bone, Yan's energy feels more abundant, his soul power now at Level 42.
The Skyfire Fox's soul ring also grants him a new skill: Blazing Slash. When activated, Yan's hands ignite to form a giant blade of intense flames. This fiery blade, with extreme heat and razor-sharp edges, deals significant single-target damage, able to burn through most defenses. Moreover, the flames continue burning for a period, causing sustained damage to the enemy and draining their soul power.
He names his new External Soul Bone ability Flaming Wings. The wings not only allow him to fly but also enable him to launch a powerful skill called Thousand-Chiseling Firestorm. Yan can release a storm of blazing sparks from the wings, each spark akin to a scorching blade. When these fiery particles rain down on the enemy, they deliver a devastating area attack, causing severe burns and making it difficult for opponents to evade.
Over the next several days, Yan trains diligently, mastering his new skills and integrating the wings fully into his body. Eventually, he can control them effortlessly.
One day, after completing his training, Yan gazes into the distance. It's been over a month since he last saw Hu Liena and Xie Yue. Wondering if they've reached Level 40 and acquired their fourth soul rings, he decides to seek them out.
In a remote part of a canyon, Xie Yue sits cross-legged, absorbing a soul ring, while Hu Liena stands guard. She feels chills as an eerie sensation surrounds them, realizing that dozens of bloodthirsty bats are watching them.
The bats, drawn by the blood from a recent battle with a White-Faced Demon Tiger, lurk in the darkness. Known for their ferocity and speed, these bats attack fearlessly, even against stronger opponents.
Focused, Hu Liena summons her Charming Fox Martial Soul, and three soul rings, two yellow and one purple glow around her. She mutters under her breath, frustrated by the inconvenient timing.
"Damn it! Why do these bats have to show up now?"
With her brother in the middle of absorbing a soul ring, she's determined to protect him. Without hesitation, Hu Liena activates her second soul skill, Fox Charm. An enchanting aura fills the air, causing the leading bats to momentarily lose focus. Seizing the chance, she unleashes her first soul skill, Fox Fire, casting flames that spread outward, incinerating the dazed bats instantly.
Yet, more bats emerge from the shadows, relentless in their assault.
