"Are you done with the assessment?" Louis asked while rubbing his hands excitedly.
Seated on the throne in the castle of his dreamscape, Louis looked at Fairy who was seated on the armrest.
He wanted to know the changes and the current limitations of the system, especially since his mind was very active after that incredible sex.
Last night, chase was intense.
Burdened with lust and desire, Rebecca's footsteps were messy, and more than once she was caught, subdued, and fucked senseless.
She could only submit to her fate and tremble under Louis' body, shake with orgasms, and get creampied.
On the floor.
In three separate living rooms.
On fifteen different sofas.
Under eight different chandeliers.
In nineteen different positions.
By the time they reached the master bedroom, Rebecca was already begging for mercy, and it was almost four in the morning.
Since then, he was too excited to fall asleep and so he left Rebecca in her bed while he went to take a quick shower, gather his clothes, and prepare some hot tea while waiting for the system's upgrade.
"Just give me a minute," Fairy raised her hand palm upfront facing Louis, her eyes flashing with brilliant colors.
"How much dream energy did you save up by the way? Like, I mean the equivalent of dream points?" Louis was curious because he lost count.
Unlike him, neither the system or Fairy used their share of returns from dream seeds.
They two reaped 30P each from dreamscapes planted with dream seeds. Even if Louis used up his points on to enter a lucid dream together with the target, their share wouldn't be affected.
Just these four days together with last night's spike in earnings, Louis had accumulated about 700P, but if he deducted the daily use of 60P, he was now left with around 520P give or take.
His intuition told him that the system's upgrade condition wasn't the filled up slots of ten active seeds—that was just a limitation on the current system.
The real criteria must have been the gradual accumulation of dream energy. If he wanted to make a bold guess, then the equivalent of 1,000P must have been the breakthrough point for the system.
Does that mean the next point was 10,000 points? Louis didn't know, but he felt like his guess should be to the truth.
Fairy didn't respond to Louis, mainly focused on understanding the current limitations of the system and reforming the interface.
By now, Louis knew that this wasn't a conventional system, but a treasure related to lucid dreams and dream energy.
It used astral projections synchronized with Louis' perception to generate these holographic images that only he could see or actively interact with.
If he had to make an analogy, he would be the CEO, the system was the company's top secret hardware, and Fairy was his dutiful secretary.
As Louis' thoughts ran wild, Fairy blinked and clarity returned to her eyes. "Done!"
She then waved her hand to project a number of screens in front of Louis.
"Let's start with the upgraded features before we move to the new ones," she said lightly after grabbing Louis attention, starting her explanation…
First to be upgraded was the dreamscape itself—Louis can now summon the spirit bodies of those with a dream seed planted in them. Since his dreamscape was the manifestation of the "system" itself, it wouldn't consume any dream points.
The biggest drawback is that he would expose his supernatural abilities because spirit bodies inside dreams are lucid, and they would intuitively feel that this place didn't belong to them.
This is different from Louis infiltrating another person's dreamscape where the spirit body is lulled into a sense of home ground security.
For now, Louis couldn't find a suitable way to make use of this ability, so Fairy didn't elaborate much on it.
Another benefit was the ability to create preset templates for dreams, and these can be used on anyone in the connections catalog remotely, just in case Louis wanted to construct a dream but didn't want to personally enter.
The second obvious upgrade was the upper limit of active dream seeds—it had increased from ten to a hundred active seeds simultaneously.
The third upgrade was the dream shop.
Now, other than buying cards, Louis could also customize astral projections of certain objects, invest dream points, and bring them into reality.
For example, if he wanted to customize clothes, furniture, or anything physical, he could do so by investing more energy.
Of course, the greater the scale of construction, especially if he wanted to give the object some physical properties such as volume or density, it could cost a lot of points.
For example, creating a car out of thin air would consume at least 100,000P, but creating a glass cup or a small mask would consume at most 300P or 500P.
Louis then wondered how much energy would Fairy need to physically manifest in the physical world through an astral projection.
"Okay, I get understand the upgrades now, but what about the new features?" Louis moved his hand and dismissed the screens.
Fairy rolled her eyes at Louis' impatience, but she didn't take it to heart. At the end of the day, he was still a kid in her eyes.
"I don't know if it should called a feature or an ability yet, but the system's target of upgrade was you," Fairy floated over and poked Louis's forehead. "I would rather say, it's your spirit body."
Louis was confused and tilted his head, "But I don't feel any difference?"
He inspected his spirit body, but as he just said, he didn't feel anything different.
Fairy rolled her eyes. "That's because there's nothing here to contrast with you or your current self, silly! Once you go back to the real world, you'll notice that something about you and the way you look at the world has changed."
According to fairy, the system had unlocked his potential to perceive, interact with, and manipulate dream energy.
If she had to make a guess, it's because the system wanted to give him the tools to identify high-priority targets that could provide him with greater returns of dream energy once planted with the dream seed.
"Wait, wait, wait…" Louis raised his hand and looked at Fairy with confusion. "You mean to say some people out there can provide more points than others?"
Fairy looked at Louis as though he was an idiot and asked in return, "Wait… don't tell me you think you're the only one with supernatural abilities out there? Are you that stupid?"
