Chapter 63 - Chapter 63

### Arc 4: **The Gathering Storm**

#### Chapter 3: **Unseen Moves**

The rain came down in sheets, a gray curtain blanketing the city as Jae-min stood by the window in AstraLux's strategy room. The boardroom was bustling behind him, but his mind was focused on the battle unfolding in the shadows of corporate warfare.

"We've finalized the partnership contracts with three of the new suppliers," Hana said, walking up to him with a folder in her hand. "They're small, but their production capacity is enough to cover what Kael's choking off for now."

"Good," Jae-min said, turning toward her. "Make sure their operations are secure. Kael will try to pressure them next, and we can't afford to lose them."

Hana nodded but hesitated, her brows furrowing. "There's something else. I've been digging into Kael Daichi's past. He's not just some ambitious businessman. He has ties to… let's just say, unsavory circles."

Jae-min's jaw tightened. "How unsavory are we talking?"

"He's leveraged underground connections to crush competitors before," Hana explained. "Blackmail, sabotage, even rumors of violence."

A tense silence filled the air as Jae-min processed the information.

"Then we need to be smarter," he said firmly. "Kael thinks he can scare us, but we're not going down without a fight."

Later that night, Jae-min returned to his penthouse, exhaustion threatening to overtake him. As he stepped inside, the soft glow of Mira's presence greeted him. She was seated on the couch, her legs curled under her as she studied a glowing tablet filled with data.

"You've been busy," Jae-min said, dropping onto the couch beside her.

"Someone has to keep up with your mess," Mira replied, her tone teasing but her expression serious. "I've been analyzing Kael's strategies, and he's making bold moves. Too bold."

"What do you mean?"

Mira leaned closer, the faint glow of her presence illuminating the worry in her eyes. "He's taking risks that could backfire if we play our cards right. For example, his takeover of your suppliers wasn't as clean as he'd like it to seem. There's evidence of breaches in contract law. If we expose this, it could stall his momentum."

Jae-min's lips curved into a sly smile. "Then let's make that our next move."

"Not so fast," Mira said, placing a hand on his arm. "Kael is calculating. If we strike without enough proof, it'll only backfire. You need to approach this carefully."

"I'll leave the careful part to you," Jae-min said, his confidence unwavering.

Mira sighed but couldn't help the small smile tugging at her lips. "You're impossible."

The next morning, Ayumi and Riho joined Jae-min at a high-end café known for its exclusivity. The three of them were meeting a potential ally—one of Kael's former business partners who had grown disillusioned with his cutthroat tactics.

The café's opulent interior provided the perfect backdrop for the subtle tension in the air. Ayumi, always poised, sipped her tea gracefully while keeping an eye on the entrance. Riho, less subtle, tapped her nails against the table impatiently.

"Are you sure he'll show?" Riho asked, glancing at Jae-min.

"He will," Jae-min replied calmly. "He has more to gain by working with us than staying silent."

Moments later, a tall man in his late forties entered the café. His sharp suit and weary expression spoke of someone who had seen the darker side of corporate warfare. He approached their table and introduced himself as Victor Lang.

"I'll be honest," Victor began as he sat down, "I don't trust easily. Especially not when it comes to someone Kael Daichi is targeting."

"You don't have to trust me," Jae-min replied smoothly. "You just need to trust that working with us is better for your future than staying under Kael's shadow."

Victor studied him for a moment before nodding. "Fair point. Kael's been cutting corners and making enemies left and right. I've been looking for a way out, and you might just be it."

---

As the meeting wrapped up, Ayumi leaned close to Jae-min, her voice low. "He's useful, but he's also scared. We need to make sure he doesn't flip on us the moment Kael applies pressure."

"We will," Jae-min replied, his eyes narrowing. "Kael thinks he's untouchable, but everyone has their breaking point. We'll find his."

---

That night, as Jae-min stood on the balcony of his penthouse, the city lights stretching out before him, Mira appeared by his side.

"You're playing a dangerous game," she said softly.

Jae-min glanced at her, a small smile playing on his lips. "When has it ever been anything else?"

Mira shook her head but didn't press further. She could see the determination in his eyes, and she knew there was no stopping him.

As the rain began to fall once more, Jae-min's resolve only grew stronger. Kael Daichi might have made the first move, but Jae-min was determined to win the war.
