Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

**Chapter 10: The Spark of Ambition**

The night air felt different as Jae-min stepped out of the diner. The muffled sounds of Mina's final song still played in his mind, her voice resonating with a passion that had silenced the room. He couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment—not just for helping Mina, but for proving to himself that he could make a difference.

Elyra's form materialized beside him as he walked toward his apartment, her ethereal glow illuminating the dark street.

"You've impressed her," Elyra said, her voice carrying a faint tone of approval. "And more importantly, you've proven you can think strategically. Helping Mina wasn't just about her, you know."

Jae-min gave her a sidelong glance. "You mean it was about me learning how to use the system effectively?"

Elyra nodded, her golden eyes fixed on him. "Exactly. Mina's happiness is a byproduct of you fulfilling your task, but the larger picture is about building your influence, your connections, and your identity. Tonight, you didn't just help Mina—you created an opportunity to show people what you're capable of."

Jae-min stopped walking and stared at the ground for a moment. He didn't want to admit it, but Elyra was right. The diner customers, the manager, even Mina—they'd all seen a side of him that he hadn't believed existed before.

"So, what's next?" he asked, resuming his walk.

Elyra's expression shifted into one of amusement. "Oh, there's always more. For starters, Mina's likability is at 85%. She's close to becoming truly loyal to you, but you'll need one more meaningful interaction to push her to 100%."

Jae-min raised an eyebrow. "And what exactly does 'truly loyal' mean?"

Elyra smirked. "You'll see. Let's just say it'll solidify her place in your life, both emotionally and practically."

"That sounds ominous," he muttered.

"You'll thank me later," Elyra replied with a wink.

---

The next morning, Jae-min woke up to the faint hum of Elyra's voice in his head.

"Wake up, sleepyhead," she said, her tone teasing. "You've got another task today."

He groaned, rolling over to check the system interface. Sure enough, a new task was displayed:

**Task: Identify and pursue your next opportunity for growth. Reward: Unlock a new ability and gain a 10% boost to system funds.**

"What kind of vague nonsense is this?" he grumbled, sitting up in bed.

"It's not vague," Elyra replied, materializing at the foot of his bed. "It's a test of your initiative. The system isn't going to hand everything to you on a silver platter—you need to learn how to spot opportunities and act on them."

Jae-min rubbed his temples, trying to shake off the remnants of sleep. "Fine. I'll figure something out. But first, coffee."

---

By mid-afternoon, Jae-min found himself wandering the bustling streets of Seoul, his mind racing with possibilities. His encounter with Mina had shown him the power of addressing people's passions and challenges, but he wasn't sure where to start next.

As he passed a small park, he noticed a crowd gathered around a street performer. Curiosity piqued, he approached the scene. A young woman was playing the violin, her music captivating the audience. She moved with grace and confidence, her eyes closed as she lost herself in the melody.

When the performance ended, the crowd erupted into applause, and Jae-min caught a glimpse of her face as she bowed. There was something striking about her—a mix of determination and vulnerability that intrigued him.

He didn't know why, but he felt compelled to approach her.

---

The woman was packing up her violin when Jae-min stepped forward.

"That was incredible," he said, trying not to sound awkward. "You're really talented."

She looked up, her dark eyes studying him for a moment before she smiled. "Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it."

"I'm Jae-min," he said, offering his hand.

She hesitated briefly before shaking it. "Eun-ha."

"Do you perform here often?" he asked.

Eun-ha nodded. "Whenever I can. It's not much, but it helps cover some of my expenses."

Jae-min noticed the faint weariness in her voice, the way her smile didn't quite reach her eyes. He glanced at the open violin case at her feet, where a handful of crumpled bills and coins sat.

"What if I told you I could help you take your music to the next level?" he asked.

Eun-ha raised an eyebrow, clearly skeptical. "And how exactly would you do that?"

Jae-min hesitated for a moment, unsure how much to reveal. But then Elyra's voice echoed in his mind: **"Opportunities don't wait. Act now."**

"I've got connections," he said, improvising. "I know people who could help you get more exposure. But I'd need to know more about you—your goals, your dreams."

Eun-ha studied him for a long moment before nodding slowly. "Alright, Jae-min. I'll bite. Let's talk."

---

The two of them sat at a nearby café, where Eun-ha shared her story. She'd been playing the violin since childhood, but financial struggles had forced her to abandon her dream of joining a professional orchestra. Now, she performed on the streets to make ends meet, hoping to save enough money to audition for a prestigious music academy.

Jae-min listened intently, his mind already racing with ideas.

"What if I could help you get there faster?" he said when she finished.

Eun-ha frowned. "Help how? Money?"

"Not just money," he said quickly. "I'm talking about networking, marketing, building a platform for your music. You've got the talent—you just need the right opportunities."

She hesitated, her eyes searching his face. "Why would you do that for me? You don't even know me."

"Let's just say I see potential," he replied, smiling. "And I like helping people who deserve it."

Eun-ha's expression softened slightly, but she still looked cautious. "Alright. I'll give you a chance. But don't make promises you can't keep."

Jae-min nodded, determination sparking in his chest. This was his next opportunity—a chance to not only help someone but also prove to himself that he could rise to the challenge.

As they parted ways, Eun-ha's name appeared in his system interface, her likability score starting at 20%.

Elyra appeared beside him, a pleased smile on her face. "You're learning fast, Jae-min. Keep this up, and you'll be unstoppable."

He smirked. "I'm just getting started."
