Chapter 45 - Chapter 0045: The Leader of the Evolutionaries! (4/5)

AuRelius wasn't trying to provoke anyone maliciously; it's simply in the nature of martial artists to think, "If I'm the best, you can only be second!" It's natural to want to compare yourself with someone stronger when you meet them.

If someone claimed that AuRelius wanted to challenge authority, take over the group leadership, or deliberately undermine the White Emperor's reputation, that wasn't entirely the case.

Was this all because of that video?

AuRelius glanced at the video in the group chat and smiled arrogantly. Though the White Emperor hadn't said a word earlier, he wasn't as aloof as AuRelius had initially assumed.

With that thought, AuRelius ignored the so-called announcement and clicked on the video.

The video began with a bird's-eye view from a low hill, showing a scene several hundred meters away. Slowly, the camera zoomed in and focused on a factory building in the distance.

AuRelius furrowed his brows. The White Emperor wasn't visible, but AuRelius wasn't in any rush. He was curious to see what the White Emperor was up to.

What's with those guards holding submachine guns?

The next moment, AuRelius froze in place.

From the factory emerged a massive creature, its body towering like a mountain.

'What on earth is that?!' AuRelius's heart pounded. Could something like this really exist in the apocalypse?

The submachine guns rattled, pouring firepower into the beast, but they couldn't even scratch its mountainous body. Even grenades were useless!

With a single swipe of its hand, the creature crushed a guard into a pile of flesh, the bones and gun in his hand as if made of clay.

Amidst the smoke from the grenades, the creature turned its head, locking its gaze on the camera. Even through the screen, AuRelius felt a chill. It was as if death itself had looked into his soul.

AuRelius instinctively questioned himself. Could his Overlord Spear even pierce this monstrous flesh?

Even if it could, would it have any effect?

The answer was clear: No.

This thing couldn't be defeated by any one person alone. AuRelius concluded this in his mind, yet he couldn't shake the surreal feeling.

As the video progressed, a figure in black appeared in the footage. Though the video was sped up, AuRelius recognized him immediately—it was the same figure from the previous video.

It was the White Emperor!

AuRelius watched as the White Emperor revealed a fist with sharp claws and moved like a black wind toward the massive meat monster. A creature AuRelius believed could never be taken down alone.

For the next ten minutes, AuRelius sat there, jaw dropped.

In his eyes, the hulking zombie that should have been impossible to kill was being toyed with like a clumsy fool in front of the White Emperor.

Then, with one final brilliant strike, the creature fell—killed by a single person!

Relius was stunned. The White Emperor had grown even stronger since the last video, to a point that struck fear into the hearts of those who watched. Such rapid improvement was unimaginable.

But soon, AuRelius exhaled a long breath. He wasn't someone who couldn't accept defeat, nor was he someone who refused to recognize others' strengths.

There was no point in making excuses like, "Those claws must be advanced equipment," or, "The monster was just too clumsy."

No, it was precisely because of the White Emperor's undeniable strength that AuRelius could acknowledge him fully.

After the video ended, AuRelius immediately sent a message in the group chat:

[Overlord: @White Emperor, amazing! I'm impressed, brother! /thumbs/thumbs/]

[Your King—Bart: I don't even know what to say, except this is f@cking awesome! You're my idol!]

[Vince: White Emperor lives up to his name!]

[Lotte: That monster was terrifying! Now I'm convinced—our future truly lies in the hands of evolutionaries like White Emperor. Firepower is useless against these monsters!]

[Ruby: White Emperor, you're not very old, right? Where are you now? Maybe I can offer myself to you? I make a great bed warmer!]

[Rider: White Emperor is too powerful! Not only that, but he's also giving us valuable information about the monsters! Thank you!]

AuRelius paused when he saw Rider's comment. Only then did he realize he had missed the video's announcement entirely.

Quickly, he scrolled back to read it:

[Special Zombie Mutant Code Name: Roshan]

[Detailed Introduction: Strong constitution, average speed, poor flexibility. Can devour other zombies to rapidly increase strength. It can control the bodies it consumes, making it extremely difficult to guard against.]

[Precautions: The back is not a weakness. Attacking the head is also not recommended. Only after its control over the body weakens should you attempt a fatal blow.]

"Roshan..." AuRelius muttered as he read the detailed information.

It dawned on him that the White Emperor hadn't even been responding to his earlier provocations. The video wasn't meant for him at all—it was to educate the evolutionary group on how to handle the mutant threat.

As stated from the beginning, the chat group existed to provide a platform for gifted evolutionaries. The goal was to help everyone survive and protect their loved ones in the apocalypse.

'Incredible.'

For the first time, AuRelius felt a deep sense of admiration for the White Emperor. Such a person was truly worthy of leading the No. 001 chat group and guiding the first evolutionaries.

At this moment, Novak had earned the respect and admiration of 'Overlord' once renowned across Kepler in his previous life.

Yet, the White Emperor, hailed as the leader of the evolutionaries, stayed silent. An awkward tension filled the car, until Daphne turned to Ruri with a curious question:

"Your personal qualities are quite remarkable. Would you like to learn more about this world?"
