Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

"Baby run," Mom had whispered, her voice tight with fear, "Daddy and I will keep them busy." But I, at thirteen, already a seasoned lycan shifter since eleven, knew better. "But Mum, I can fight too!" I insisted, my own lycan form itching beneath my skin. "I'm pretty good!"

My dad, a magnificent, blood-soaked wolf, roared his agreement. "No, baby girl, listen to your mama! They're attacking because they want your lycan. She's special. We love you. Run!" Mom, equally covered in blood – theirs and ours – clutched me briefly before pushing me away. "Run to my brother pack, baby, but keep your identity safe. Don't say who you are, or that you have a lycan, until you know they're trustworthy." Her tears mingled with the blood on her face.

I ran, the image of my parents, bathed in crimson, seared into my memory. That fragmented nightmare, that same terrifying scene, has haunted my sleep every night for ten years. Now, at twenty-three, the grief is a constant ache, a hollow space where my family used to be. I still see their faces, smeared with blood, their eyes filled with desperate love, urging me to run. And I wonder, every single day, if I could have done more. If I could have saved them.

Hello Alea good morning- my uncle wife wisper to me- the same dream

"ohh good morning helen im sooo sorrry what time is it im i late i didt know i sleept this much i will clean the entire house"i said

"Alea, don't worry, no work today. We need to talk," Helen said.

"Did I do something wrong, ma'am? I'm sorry if I did," I said, putting my head down.

"No, but we need to go somewhere private."

"Yes, Luna, wait to change."

In the backyard, she whispered, "I know you're Axel's niece."

"Please don't tell anyone."

"I won't, but I want the full story. Your uncle searched everywhere for you, but you disappeared under his nose. I found out. Don't be scared; I'm happy to have found you. But we need to talk privately. Tell me everything," Helen said, smiling.

"Come with me, Luna," I said, leading her to a cave where I'd buried them. She was shocked when I mentioned both graves.

"The night of the attack was my mother's birthday. After the party, we went for a run. They attacked, and my parents protected me. My father was the Alpha King, the leader of all werewolf packs, but his beta betrayed him. He wanted my lycan."

"I know who your father wos. You have a lycan?"

"I do. A powerful, large lycan, even bigger than my father's. She's special. They wanted my lycan to be the strongest, but my father wouldn't let them. They told me to run, but I hid in a nearby tree, masking my scent. I watched everything. They searched for me, then left their bodies in the forest. I waited until I couldn't smell them anymore, then I dragged them for five days and buried them here. When I have time, I come here to talk to them. I'm scared to reveal who I am; I'm afraid they'll attack you. I can't lose my uncle—my last blood relative," I said, crying. "I kept my identity secret. I was happy playing with the children, being a maid, even nanny for Altea; it was better than putting you all in danger. So I kept quiet."

"But if you'd told us, we would have given you a better life," Helen said.

"I couldn't destroy your family. I watched over the pack every night. I tried to keep this pack safe, hiding my aura. Once, I cried and got angry; I scared some werewolves with my aura, but they didn't know where it came from. Since then, I haven't cried or let my aura loose. One day, I hope to get revenge and take my birthright as Queen Lycan. I will… I will…" I trailed off, smelling different scents.

"Shit! Run! Take my hand; we have to tell everyone. We'll be attacked soon!" I grabbed her hand and ran to the pack house. Helen blew the attack alarm. My uncle appeared, his speed a blur. Everything around me was in slow motion; I'd gained his speed. I think I'm a tribrid—part vampire, part wolf, part lycan. He's a hybrid too.

He approached his wife. "What happened? What's going on?" She looked at me, then at him. "We were in the forest, and while talking with Alea, I smelled many unfamiliar scents approaching our borders—not one or two, but many. We had to run. When I touched the alarm, I knew those scents were hostile. I'm sorry I didn't talk to you first," she said.

"Don't worry, baby. You're Luna of this pack; you're a leader as much as I am," my uncle said. All pack members were before the pack house.

"Listen! Luna is sure we'll be attacked soon. All pups to the pack house. Ten of our best will protect them; the rest prepare for the attack. To your positions!" My uncle commanded. Everyone obeyed. As Helen and I moved the children, the hostiles emerged from the forest—large wolves and lycans. The packs clashed. I heard a child cry:

"No! They're three, and my daddy's one! I can't lose my daddy too! Please, someone help him!" She ran toward him, but I intercepted her. In a blur, I broke three hostiles' necks, reached her, and before she could react, three more fell. The girl was relieved, her father shocked. We secured the children in the pack house. Helen kissed her daughter. "Stay safe. You're the future Alpha. If anything happens to us, you protect them, okay?"

"Yes, Mommy, and I love you," she said, kissing her mother, then looking at me. "I know you love me too, and I know you. I read your mind, cousin." She smile at me ant wink
