Sounds of loud grunts and yelling filled the air of the school. Students chattered quietly as they watched two high tier students spar in the gym.
Davian: "PUT YOUR BACK INTO IT!"
Ryzen: "Keep talking like that and I'll shatter your entire body with Cerberus."
Davian went silent and gulped. Soon Mako and Mikail walked into the gym to see what the fuss was about. Makos eyes slightly widened in curiosity.
Mako: "Holy shit that's Ryzen; he's a celestial rank from what I've heard!"
Mikail: "Yeah... and Davian. Apparently, his spirit allows him to have armor as strong as diamonds."
Mako looked in shock as Ryzen hit Davian with a killer blow to the jaw. Mikail shook his head and began leaving the room.
Mako: "Wow he really is as strong as they say, It's so unfair though that they got to use their spirits so early..."
Mikail turned around at the door and looked at Mako.
Mikail: "Don't worry we'll get our chance today; it's the Lion and Beetle stratums turn for all of this week"
Mako nodded and Mikail walked away. Turning his attention back to the crowd of students, he noticed everyone staring in his direction.
Mako: "whys everyone looking.at.me. ahhh shit."
Ryzen: "Do you want to die?"
Mako looked up slowly and met eyes with a death glare from Ryzen. Not trying to tuck tail and run, Mako stood tall and glared back.
Ryzen: "Huh you got balls I'll give you that, but your energy levels are puny, so you aren't worth my time. Now. Move."
Mako undeterred stepped closer, his fists clenched. Ryzen beginning to get annoyed, grabs Mako by the shirt.
Ryzen: "I will kick your puny ass and put you 6 feet in the ground if you don't get the hell out of my way."
Mako: "I'd like to see you try you fucking pussy."
Ryzen reared his arm back preparing to punch the snot out of Mako. Suddenly Mikail came sprinting towards Ryzen opting to throw Mako at Mikail. As he threw Mako effortlessly, he scoffed and walked out of the room. Both boys groaned in pain.
Mako: "God damn he's strong, he just threw me like a damn paper weight..."
Mikail: "yeah..."
Mako stood up and helped Mikail up on his feet. A loud buzzing began to play over the intercoms.
Intercom: "Grab your things and come to the arena Lions and Beetles."
The boys made way out of the gym and out of the buildings back doors. Far in front of them stood a massive coliseum.
Mako: "I can't wait to actually fight with our spirits, they've just had us training and doing basic schoolwork for the past two weeks"
Mikail: "I know but you should keep your guard up and pick your fights wisely."
Mikail side eyed Mako causing Mako to roll his eyes. As they reached the coliseum, the guards standing at the front opened the doors allowing them to enter. The light on the other side of the hallway shined brightly, almost blinding. The boys soon reached the center of the structure.
Mikail: "Wow this place is huge."
Mako nodded in agreement while placing his hand over his head in a saluting gesture to block the bright lights away from his eyes. roughly 100 students stood within this building but even with a large mass of people there was a lot of room due to the sheer size of it.
Intercom: "Hello everyone, we know you've been eager to fight with your spirits and we do apologize for the wait but here you go."
Intercom: "Now for the rules, 1. You are allowed to team up, 2. you must NOT kill your opponent or that will be an imitate ban from the academy. 3. you may choose who you fight but once chosen you cannon back out nor fight anyone else. lastly the only way to win is by knockout or submission. Now, have fun."
Everyone began chatting on who they will fight and team up with. Instinctively Mikail looked at Mako for approval. Mako nodded and the boys fist bumped.
Davian: "Hey there, I saw the guts you had back there, you want to fight?"
Mako turned around and met face to face with Davian who was now covered in a transparent energy filled armor similar to a beetle.
Mako: "You fine with a 2 on 1?"
Davian looked at Mikail for a moment and nodded. Davian backed up giving the two room to ready themselves. Mikail backed up and closed his eyes. Energy flowed around Mikail for a moment as a large purple lightning covered cheetah walked out from behind him. It roared as it was absorbed into his body. purple energy filled cheetah-like armor formed around Mikails calves and forearms.
Mikail: "I'll hold him off while you power up alright?"
Mako nodded and Mikail darted towards Davian at 90 mph. The two clashed repeatedly as Mako tried to summon his spirit.
Mako: "Come on work just this one time!"
Mikail swept at Davian's legs just to be hit with a reality check of a close line. Mikail rolled across the ground whilst coughing profusely. He slowly got up as Davian approached him. Unsure of what to do, he stood up straight and got into a fighting stance. Davian charged up a punch and swung. However, as the punch nearly lands, Mikail crosses arms to block causing a small shockwave to blast through the air as they collided.
Mako: "COME ONNNNNN!"
Mako roared in anger as a massive glowing shark appeared behind him. The shark closed its mouth over Mako as if it was consuming him. It was then absorbed into his body and blue energy fins formed on his hands that were razor sharp along with a shark tail.
Mikail: "Tch. This guy's armor feels unbreakable"
Looking up at Davian's face, Mikial's eyes widened slightly. He suddenly sprinted back to Mako who's energy was now somehow water.
Mikail: "Nice you finally powered up; I've only been waiting forever"
Mako: "Sorry"
Mikail: "It's fine but I have an idea on how we can beat him but you're going to have to trust me."
Mako pondered for a moment but reluctantly agreed. Mikail gestured for Mako to charge at Davian.
Mako: "You better be right about this"
Mako charged at Davian prompting him to do the same. As the two rushed at one another, Mikail ran somewhat far. Mako and Davian clashed multiple times however Mako took most of the damage. The two traded blows one after another. Mako sliced at Davian's armor as much as possible to no avail. Mako was then gut punched and thrown back by Davian. Mako slowly got up and held his gut.
Davian: "Looks like your so-called friend left you-"
Davian looked to the side to see Mikail sprinting over 100 Mph. Instinctively, he got into a blocking stance. As Mikail reached Davian, he charged up a punch and swung as hard as he could at Davian's arms, this time the sheer amount of pressure forces his arms apart. Mikail then squatted down placing his hand on the ground. Mako then used Mikails back as leverage to push himself up into the air and do a spinning tail whip into Davian's head.
Davian then stumbled back and held his face in pain. As he was stunned, Mako charged up an axe kick ready to finish the job.
Mako: "It's over you good for nothing armored parasite."
Davian looked up at Mako in horror as his eyes were that of a predator ready to kill its prey, his glare beaming into the vary depths of his soul.
