Chapter 28 - 28. Live (2)

28. Live (2)

"Ughhhh.."

"...."

"I can't stand it any more......."

Inside the quiet van, I sat up and shook off my fatigue. When I looked back, I saw the members who had each crammed into the car and fallen asleep.

After the pre-recording was over and we still had some time left until the mini fan meeting and the main broadcast, we returned to the van and went to sleep.

Even though they must have been uncomfortable in the narrow car because they have long legs, they were all able to close their eyes as if they were collapsing from the continuous, arduous schedule.

I covered my mouth and yawned, then checked the time on my phone.

'There's still time... left. Let's let the kids sleep a little longer.'

We haven't slept even 3 hours a night for a few days. But they're going to wake up soon because the face gets swollen if they sleep too deeply.

After confirming that Seol Yi-soo had fallen asleep, I cleared my throat. My throat was dry, perhaps because I had just woken up.

'Well, there's no water left in the car, and I have to report to go buy some drinks.'

I turned my head and saw Ji Young-heon sleeping with his arms crossed in the driver's seat. He seemed tired as well, having followed our schedule.

'I'm sorry, but should I wake him up first....'

It's better than acting on my own and causing trouble.

I cleared my throat and tapped Ji Young-heon's arm. Ji Young-heon opened his eyes slightly, probably because he had been sleeping lightly.

"Uh... uh, Mr. Yoo Young?"

"I'm sorry for waking you up. I'm thirsty. Drinks......."

"... Should I buy some?"

"No, I'll buy some, but I think I should tell you before I go. Oh, is there anything you'd like to drink? I'll buy some together."

"Ah.... Um, I'm fine. If you don't mind, can you get some for the other members? The drinks they often drink are Seol Yi-soo's mineral water, Hwang Bo-kyun's barley tea......."

Ji Young-heon, even though he was half asleep, listed drinks one after another to suit the members' tastes. He really has a thorough work ethic.

I wrote down the drinks Ji Young-heon mentioned on my phone's notepad and opened the car door with only my long padding and wallet. I was able to get out of the car easily since I was sitting in the passenger seat.

"There's still some time left, so please sleep."

"Thank you... If anything comes up, please do."

"Okay, I'll contact you."

I closed the door and stretched. Then I felt a presence behind me.

"Huh? Hyunseung hyung, are you awake?"

"...Ah, yeah. If you're going to buy a drink, let's go together. It's better with two than alone."

Ryu Hyunseung, who was sitting next to the backseat door, rubbed his half-opened eyes. He soon got out of the car.

"I can go alone, but you should sleep a little longer."

"No. I'm all awake....... Why aren't you sleeping?"

"I'm thirsty. Hmm."

"...Why? Can't we go together?"

I thought for a moment about whether it would be easier to go alone or with two, and shook my head. The drink would be heavy, so it would be better if someone could help me carry it. Ryu Hyunseung's face brightened at my permission.

"Thank you."

"No. I should be more grateful to hyung."

I tried to scratch my cheek in embarrassment, but I took my hand away. I remembered that I hadn't removed my makeup yet.

I quickly checked my appearance on my phone, realized that I was fine, and then looked at Ryu Hyunseung's face. Fortunately, it was also fine.

'Good-looking guys don't even have swollen faces...?'

I was surprised for a moment by the unrealistic appearance.

While I was thinking about pointless things, we arrived at the vending machine inside the broadcasting station.

When I stopped moving, Ryu Hyun-seung raised his eyebrows as if he was curious. I casually took out my phone while looking at him.

"Hyung, wait a minute. I'll check what I wrote down."

"Okay."

I put the bill in the vending machine and pressed the button while checking the list of drinks written down. Somehow, there wasn't a single drink that overlapped with everyone else.

Ryu Hyun-seung crouched down and waited for the drinks to come out of the vending machine. Clank, clank. The vending machine kept spitting out drinks.

"Is this the last one?"

"Yes. That's the end, including the manager's."

Ryu Hyun-seung stood up with both hands full of the drinks he had picked. I picked up a few of them. I stuffed two drinks into my long padding pocket and held the rest in my arms.

"If hyung wasn't here, it would have been hard to carry them by myself."

"Really? Thank goodness.... I think it was a good idea to come out."

"Well, yes. Thank you. But it's cold, so let's go back quickly."

I turned around, leaving Ryu Hyun-seung's satisfied expression behind. The hard texture of the cold canned drink hit my palm.

I was reluctant to drink the drink right here, so I wanted to go back to the warm van as soon as possible.

"....?"

However, that plan didn't work out. A new person came into view and blocked my path. I squinted my eyes to check the person in front of me.

'What? No, more importantly, why is this person here?'

Surprisingly, the main character who stopped me was Woobin. Woobin, who appeared out of nowhere, stared down at me. It was as if he was looking at a strange animal.

When I glanced around, Ryu Hyunseung had frozen since he found Woobin. I quickly poked Ryu Hyunseung's side and bowed. It was a polite and humble gesture.

"Hello, senior. I'm Yoo Young of Intro that just debuted. The same group is Ryu..."

"Hello."

Was it an illusion that Woobin cut me off just now? I lowered my head with a smile, thinking that I had lost my temper because I hadn't seen him in awhile. But I felt like my head was going to burst from the blatant gaze.

Why is Woobin here? It seemed obvious at first glance that Woobin's business was with me, not the vending machine.

'Oh, this seems like it'll be annoying.'

What was Woobin's usual personality like? I don't know because we weren't close.

What did people around say? He seemed indifferent to everything in the world, but his private life was neat and flawless.

Are there any controversies or weaknesses that will arise in the future? None. Then let's just let it go. After concluding that, I raised my head again.

"We've been hanging out for too long, right? I'll move from the vending machine aside. Sorry."

I passed him without even hearing his answer. Ryu Hyun-seung followed me as I passed. However, both of us had to stop after walking a few steps.

"Wait a minute."

I stopped walking and turned my head at Woo-bin's call. Woo-bin blinked and smiled faintly. His words, along with their significance, made me doubt my ears.

"Do you want to film a challenge together?"

"A challenge...?"

Here? Suddenly? Why you? These thoughts floated through my head, but I sorted them all out. I don't know why, but it wasn't a bad suggestion.

'Woo-bin is one of the few kids who dances better than Ryu Hyun-seung. But it's not that big of a gap, so if we go together, it'll be a bit of an issue.'

There are more than a few idols who were ridiculed after filming a challenge with Woobin. No matter how much seniority they have, the gap between them that cannot be overcome is bound to make the other person feel inferior.

There are few people who grit their teeth and dance with Woobin, even if he does it lightly.

But we have Ryu Hyunseung. Woobin's suggestion didn't seem malicious either.

Rather, it's more likely that it's being marketed as a rookie who can compete with Woobin due to the challenge.

'Woobin's fandom must not be happy. I have to be prepared for the aggro from a few of their akseong fans.'

[악성 개 인팬 which means "malicious personal fan" → fans who are extremely obsessed with one member of a group, so they usually post comments maliciously about other members.]

In reality, in less than a second, I finished calculating the benefits and risks and quietly chose the words to say.

"If it's okay with you, senior, we'll be honored. Please call us whenever you have time."

That's what I said, but if I report it to the manager, the company will contact him and adjust it. It's clean and neat to go through the company.

One thing I didn't expect was that Woobin is surprisingly persistent.

"There's no need to do that; let's do it now."

"Huh? Is your schedule okay, senior?"

"...."

What is that uneasy silence?

As long as it doesn't harm me, I don't care what Woobin does or when we will do it, but his behavior was questionable. I thought about leaving for a moment, but I soon gave up.

It's not important, but if we try to leave and hurt his feelings, we'll lose more.

"Then I left my phone for filming... Can I go back to the car?"

"I'll just film it right away. If you give me the number, I'll send you the video."

I exchanged glances with Ryu Hyunseung. He seems to have decided not to let us go if we didn't film the challenge.

'I was going to send only Ryu Hyunseung later, but I ended up filming too.'

Ryu Hyunseung would probably work hard because of his personality, and judging by his reaction, Woobin wouldn't do it half-heartedly either. If I hesitated, I'd end up looking ridiculous.

The delicate shrimp caught between the blue dragon and the white tiger tried to control his despair.

"Oh, the performance director who was supposed to teach us the choreography for our challenge isn't here right now..."

"You don't have to tell me. I saw you recording earlier."

I tried to say indirectly that we need to prepare, but it didn't work.

I looked at Woobin, who was using informal language. Why is he acting like this?

"The song was good. I heard you composed it yourself. When did you start learning producing?"

When I heard that, I understood Woobin's behavior. Sometimes, there are people who are interested in producing and try to become friends with the composers. They share their work know-how and things like that. It's not a big deal.

'But it's not often that a Medan does that, so it's unique.'

He didn't ask Han A-won that question. If so, it seems like he's recently become interested.

"I've often made melodies before, and I received a lot of help from my agency on the technical side."

"...You mostly made melodies by yourself? Did anyone help you?"

"...? Yes."

When I mixed truth and lies, Woobin added, "Ah ha."

In the lukewarm atmosphere, Ryu Hyun-seung asked.

"...But who's taking the video?"

"Oh, I called someone."

Woobin interrupted before I could answer. Soon after, I saw someone running from the end of the broadcasting station hallway.

I assumed it was Woobin's manager because of his urgent behavior, but....... The person Woobin called was leader Doah.

"Woobin hyung!"

"Oh, Doah. You take the video."

"No, hyung. What if you disappear without telling Manager hyung? Seriously. I can't live like this. I thought you got into trouble when you called me, did you know that? That's why I always...!"

"Calm down. You are in front of your juniors."

As soon as Doah appeared, he had been spitting out his complaints without even taking a breath, looked back at us with an "Oops" expression. The corners of his lips immediately lifted, showing that he was good at controlling his expressions.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to ignore you. I was just a little flustered... You know?"

Woobin's face crumpled as he saw Doah winking. Anyone could tell that he found it disgusting.

'I've met Doah more often than Woobin. He still has that worrisome personality.'

Looking at Ryu Hyun-seung, who had been very stiff since earlier, I lowered the corners of my eyebrows as if I understood him..

"I know. I'm worried that you might have taken the time out of your busy schedule for us."

"No! I know he was being stubborn, but thank you for agreeing with us."

"No. We're grateful that we will be filming the challenge together."

Haha, hoho. We exchange polite words with smiling faces. Doing this myself made me suddenly miss Hwang Bo-kyun.

After confirming that no one was around, we went to a corner of the hallway where people rarely walked.

While Do-ah was setting up the camera, I went next to Ryu Hyun-seung and whispered softly.

"Hyung, let's do it moderately."

"Huh?"

"Dance hard, but moderately."

Iced Americano warm, sophisticated yet plain, it was the same order, but Ryu Hyun-seung nodded as if he understood.

I did some light stretching and repeated the movements to simulate.

'Woobin's dance style... He has excellent technique and pays close attention to details, so his form is neat. Did they say he majored in dance when he was a student? The movement connection is definitely smooth.'

Fortunately, Woobin was a different type of dancer than Ryu Hyun-seung. They don't overlap.

Even if you danced with determination or the skills were different, you could tie it together by a difference in style.

Of course, we can't let the strength go too low either, so I warned Ryu Hyun-seung.

"Then should we start filming slowly?"

We stood behind Woobin in the middle and stood behind both sides. As if he hadn't become popular in vain, Woobin finished filming skillfully in just one go.

"Where should I send the video?"

"Just a moment, I'll give you our manager's number. You can send any related contacts here."

After giving Ji Youngheon's number to Doah with a polite attitude until the end, I took care of Ryu Hyunseung. Ryu Hyunseung was chatting with Woobin. It seemed like the shy guy was putting in a lot of effort.

"We're going now, sir."

"Thank you for taking care of this hyung. Please go safely!"

We bowed and quickly turned around. We wasted quite a bit of time.

'Oh, I have to go back quickly. It's cold, it's cold.'

I walked quickly down the hallway.

For some reason, I had the illusion that my back was cold.
