Frustrated but determined, Helek suddenly scoops Keroli up into his arms.
Keroli, utterly embarrassed, turns red because no one—other than Helek—had ever picked him up like that before.
Keroli felt embarrassed by how effortlessly Helek had picked him up, so he hugged Helek and hid his face against his shoulder.
This only made Helek find him even cuter. Gently, Helek carried him to the living room, placed him on the sofa, and then sat at his feet.
"Why are you sitting at my feet? There's space on the sofa—sit there,"
Keroli said softly, his voice calm and gentle, as if his anger had already melted away.
Helek, sensing that he was on the right track, rested his head on Keroli's lap.
"Forgive me. I promise I'll never make any announcements about us again without asking you first."
At least Helek had realized one thing—no matter whose fault it was, in a relationship, it's always best to be the one to apologize.
