Dinner was a quiet affair, both of us engrossed in our meals. I gobbled up the food happily, content to finally have a meal. The soup tasted divine, the mix of spices different from anything I had tasted before.

The bread was dry and flaky, and was a great combination when dipped in the stew. Silas finished his meal before me, and while I emptied the last of my bowl's contents, he put a kettle to the fire, preparing water for my bath.

"Let me have that," he offered, grabbing my empty bowl from in front of me.

"Thank you for dinner." I smiled, patting my full belly.

"Anytime, Ry."
