After Huo Shiyuan stepped out of the bathroom, he saw Yuan Xi's gaze fixed on the photo on the bedside table.
"Sorry, I came back a bit late today. I won't return so late in the future and wake you up."
Yuan Xi snapped back to reality, "I wasn't really asleep anyway."
After Huo Shiyuan got into bed, Yuan Xi shifted a bit closer to the edge.
Huo Shiyuan's large hand reached out and drew Yuan Xi into his embrace.
Smelling the fragrance of the man's body wash, Yuan Xi whispered, "Do you really like the girl in the photo that much?"
Though she knew she shouldn't ask, Yuan Xi still wanted to know why Huo Shiyuan hadn't ended up with his puppy love but instead chose a stand-in.
Huo Shiyuan said, "I like her very much."
Hearing the expected answer, Yuan Xi calmly asked, "If you like her that much, why didn't you end up together?"
Huo Shiyuan replied, "Because she despises me and doesn't like me..."
