Chapter 2 - What a beautiful day, like nothing bad could happen.

It was a normal day when I had stepped out the door. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and the streets were calm. It was like any other ordinary civillian day I would picture that ordinary people who would take the time experience stepping outside.

("Ha, if only I fit into this category.")

I was dressed in a dark grey sweater and deep blue jeans, with tousled uncared for hair. A living zombie has taken their first steps from home.

Walking down the street side in my busy neighborhood was exhilelarating. The difference in air quality and quantity showed was stark and undeniable, I was breathing straight out of a air frahener with every breath, how ludicrous!

(Yes, I'm alien to such concepts as going outside and standing in the sun, im one of many modern day vampires.)

"A pat on the back for brilliance and wisdom. Leaving the sloth life and entering the world."

It was long past time step outside my house. No more staying inside to binge watch my favorite shows, I want to become a real boy!

...

Crouchung down to touch the outside world's foreign substances I spotted beside the sidewalk on the ground I began to make a conjecture.

"It's green, it's small, and there are many like it. Are these small things, grass?"

A mother with her child that just happened to pass by to here his mutterings gave him a quick look over and pulled her child closer.

("What kind of conclusion did she come to for that reaction?")

....

*Hmm, hmm hmmm!*

Humming to a tune and swaggering down the street. I had enjoyed my time outside, It so fun I had planned to step into this forgein world once again in future dates. But

Why, just why did I have to say that out loud.

"It really is a great day to be alive! I honestly can't imagine how anything bad could happen on a day like this!"

*SCREEEECH*

It was then a roving van that had passed by me turned around suddenly. Could they be undercover police? It seemed like held a speedometer outside their window, why is it ponted at me though?. The driver of the van gingerly bought the device inside, and after a few moments a hand jutted out the windows signaling me over.

("A black suit shirt, black tie, and sunglasses? Have kidnappers ever dressed so professionally?")

Studying the van I noticed it had scratches not fully patched, the windows were tinted black, on the side it looked like there were words previously sprayed on, free candy? With all this data it could only mean one thing! I don't know but I'm not staying to find out!

("Yeah no, im going to go this way even if it is the police.")

I started doing the shimmy bacawards.

"Do you need a ride kid!?" He called seeing as I had started moving away.

"No sir!"

"Want some candy kid?"

("I should start running now, no?")

I already was facing away from the car prepared to sprint away and pull my phone out. I had even started to call out for help, but it was all put to a end when something came whistling in the air.

*Thwap*

I had been hit in the back, by a bullet?

My vision was wobbly, all color was draining, darkness consuming my vison. "Why am I so sleepy?" The feeling of fatigueness alarmed me as I had also felt my rapidly draining energy causing my legs to buckle under me.

My previous attempts to flee had failed as I meekly tripped after jogging a few steps and before I knew it I was lying on the pavement outside my driveway.

"Common sense, survival instinct, resilience, he even tried creating a commotion, intelligence seemingly amazing, isnt he the perfect can-" and I blacked out.

P.O.V. SWAP

"Wow, such a beautiful day."

The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and I could even hear children laughing in the distance. All of this outside the white tiled, cold, stony room, where could this be?

He hummed to a calming tune while listening to the echos of reverberated hymn throughout the room. His temporary neighbors seemed disgruntled and awkward behind the thin walls that operated then. He could tell by the way their feet were shifting beneath the wall.

("Is it weird to hum in here?")

He thought as he reached out for some tissue from behind the toilet.

Yes he was in the bathroom, a public one at that.

"Subject of observation seems to be lacking social etiquette, whether this indicates lack of common sense or caring how others perceive him. This also could be seen as using common sense to realize he doesn't care how others perceive him, this is to be determined at a later date. He heard this from his left temporary stall neighbor.

"Sieze him."

There suddenly appeared two men looking from above the stall doors, and two more from left to right stall walls.

("Are they seriously standing on top of the toilets? Wait I think it's actually a urinel to my left, lets stop picturing that.")

They all jumped onto him in a group tackle. He couldn't move from his seat because there was a triad of men holding his legs from moving. Assuredly I assumed they crawled from beneath the stalls. I really hope they shower and wash their clothes later.

"Hey zip my pants for me at least or let me zip myself!"

"Subject is able to retaliate amidst our dog pile, reporting, subject seems to have an even more abnormal amount of strength than predicted, noted. Action from myself needed, I shall be entering the dog pile mission commence."

The man launched himself onto me and that's when I lost my sight. I shortly blacked out from lack of oxygen.

...

P.O.V. SWITCH

Today the library had a calm ambience. I could smell the honey bun's sweet aroma wafting by my nose. Everyone enjoying their books with soft smiles apparent on all faces.

Such a wonderful day to be in the library.

What a beautiful day, on such days it seems like nothing bad could happen.

"Oh this is a wonderful book, dear, I already have three though I can't take anymore, phooey."

"You don't need to worry about that miss, I'll approve it for you."

Swiftly I turned around to be welcomed with the sight of a man in a suit. He had dark tinted sunglasses, gloves, and other accessories that obscured his features.

"Oh thank you, sir? Excuse me it seems i don't recognize you sir, could you be a new staff member?"

("His attire wouldn't immediately indicate he is a library staff, but there is the possibility they hired security I suppose.")

"....."

"....."

After ten seconds of silence he slowly put his pointer and middle finger to his ear. It wasn't noticeable before but there seemed to be a wire running down his neck.

("He seems to either be timid around others or more reserved when speaking. Though both of these assumptions would be hard to apply to this situation, is he really picking his ear? Something also seems off with having a wire connected to what exactly? Could it be a communication device?!")

Feeling uneasy I had decided to take a step back towards the end of the row of bookshelfs. But seeing this alerted the man to say something to keep me there.

"I have a stamp on my person. I can mark your book 'checked out', if you would please follow me over there."

He gestured towards the back of the library. This part of the library was empty as it was a magazine section for viewing only. I was certainly not going over there.

("Why would I need to go back their to register a book? Would it not be faster to head to main desk? Wait he said he has a stamp to check it out, why move somewhere else at all? No actually, where did he come from?")

"Now that I look at the cover it seems this book isn't suited for me, I'm going to put this back over there where I found it."

A silence swiftly fell between them.

"Subject is very observant, check."

A small row of books behind me tumbled off their bookshelf to show a man face fitting a pair of sunglasses with a clipboard covering half his face.

("How does he fit in the bookshelf?... No more importantly, why is he there and how long has he been there?!?!)

"Our disguise was perfect and yet she found discrepancies within it, she has great intuition. It seems Egore was wrong about her being a brainless and dense girl that makes unintelligent decisions. Anyways, sieze her."

"Firstly, your disguise was far from perfect! Secondly, who said what about me!?"

Stalling for a for few seconds I did a quick glance around her surroundings. Thankfully here was no need to think much as I had already taken some steps back making me have space to sprint away without obstruction. I had taken a breath of relief in my head since I could get away if I sprinted fast enough.

This feeling of brief relief didn't last long as more books tumbled off of bookshelves directly hitting my head. Throwing another quick glance up was all that was needed to thoroughly stomped out the embers of hope gained from assurance that escaping was an option. There was another psycho mid-leap from atop the bookshelves with syringe in hand.

It took mere seconds for her to be fluilidly tackled with a syringe injected into her neck.

As I slowly blacked out the man I had conversed with briefly had spoken.

"Never judge a book by its cover!"

"I was lying when I said that, I loved the co-"

And she blacked out.

....

"-And that is all I remember before waking up like this."

"That was a great show show and tell Selana, let's give her a round of applause Daniel!"

"Firstly, I would generally clap for such a story if under normal circumstances. Secondly, I don't think now is the right time or place for such things. We're in quite the void of matters as of our current situation if you didn't notice Rohan! Mind the pun wasn't intentional."

In the space around the three, there was no objects, no ground, no sky, no indicators of space, it was all a sickly green. Their beings felt like they were flowing in ooze. Speaking of, they had no physical form. They were three golden bulbs of light thsg swirled in a flurry around each other in the empty void.

"Nice pun, but you should keep in mind to always intend them. Anyways this is indeed a but of an awkward situation, im just trying to lighten the mood."

"Hmph while I appreciate the thought I don't need counseling from you. On other note have you guys been feeling, different?"

"What could you mean by that?" Daniel asked with a perplexity, this could be told by the sound his voice.

"Oh yeah, I know exactly what your talking about. Ive been feeling unnatural since woke up in this eerie place. Not breathing feels like im suffocating and yet not. I swear phantom breathing pain is the weirdest thing I'll ever feel."

("I swear, this guy can't take anything seriously!")

"That's not what I'm talking about what I'm talking about stupid. Have you guys felt how our, body's, are changing? It's like being crushed between two cushions."

"Now that you mention it, I do feel it too, I wonder why?" Daniel attempting to move his form for the umpteenth time.

*Ding*

[Wow, you bright eggs still have your emotional E.Q.? I was right to select you all.]

The sound a high bell ringed through their heads with an obnoxious voice.
