Object Class: Euclid
Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX must be kept in a reinforced Plexiglas cell. Direct contact is permitted only by personnel with Level 3 clearance. Access to the cell is strictly controlled, and entry is limited to authorized personnel only. Investigations and tests must be conducted with extreme caution, and personnel are prohibited from bringing personal items near SCP-XXXX.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a humanoid entity approximately 1.8 meters in height. The face and skin of the entity appear to be made of a porcelain-like material, with eyes and mouth that barely move. The body structure resembles a marionette—its arms and legs consist of finely crafted limbs connected by invisible threads. SCP-XXXX is dressed in a worn black suit, with long fingers ending in sharp, metallic points resembling surgical instruments.
The entity is referred to as "The Puppeteer" due to its ability to transform living beings into "puppets." This effect occurs when SCP-XXXX makes direct skin contact with a human subject, initiating a kind of "transformation process." Affected individuals gradually lose mobility, as though their joints are locking up. Within 48 hours, they become fully immobilized and are transformed into living puppets. These puppets retain consciousness but are unable to speak or move.
Discovery: SCP-XXXX was discovered in an abandoned theater in [REDACTED], France, after several locals reported seeing mysteriously "alive" puppets wandering the streets at night. When the Foundation dispatched investigators to the location, they found SCP-XXXX on the theater's stage, surrounded by dozens of still puppets that were once human.
Behaviour: SCP-XXXX seems driven by a morbid fascination with human emotions and fear. It whispers to its victims during the transformation and appears to take pleasure when the victim realizes what is happening. It has a preference for one-on-one conversations, often asking personnel questions about "life, loneliness, and impermanence."
Audio Recording from Test-XXXXX-A:
- Dr. Lamont: "SCP-XXXX, why do you do this? Why turn them into puppets?"
- SCP-XXXX: (whispering) "Living is a gift most people do not appreciate. I grant them eternity, so they may forever retain their true form."
- Dr. Lamont: "They're trapped… they can't speak, can't move. Is that really a gift?"
- SCP-XXXX: "The beauty of life lies in its silence. Those who remain still, remain pure. I capture them in their finest moment… preserved forever."
Incident XXXX-2: During an inspection, SCP-XXXX somehow escaped its cell and approached the personnel in the observation chamber without physically leaving its containment. Two staff members froze in place before being transformed into "puppets." They now stand motionless in SCP-XXXX's cell, heads bowed, with a constant tear-like fluid flowing from their eyes. This fluid has been confirmed to contain a porcelain-like substance.
Note: SCP-XXXX appears to have an awareness of the fears and weaknesses of those who come near it. Under no circumstances should it be engaged without proper clearance.
Conclusion: SCP-XXXX remains one of the Foundation's most enigmatic and unsettling SCPs. The "gifts" of the Puppeteer remain a mystery that Foundation researchers are still trying to unravel—though not without the risk of ending up as one of these "gifts" themselves.
