Chapter 2 - chap 2

It's a week to the visitation and the procedure is to be started by visiting the nearest nobles quarters for tests and learning proper etiquette.

We know this, can you imagine just in two days over two hundred maidens have been disqualified and rejected but with good prices and enough standard wins for themselves. Aira's best friend Sandra spoke

Yes even Fatty got herself a dozen herd of sheeps and a gold bracelet she also won ten silver pieces too, said one of the four girls

You're not joking, said another of Aira's friends.

I only carry authentic information, however we all have to go prepare ourselves because I would be leaving soon with my mother and I suggest y'all prepare yourselves too.

They all dispaded

The next morning, several families left for the Baron house and some to the Marquis house.

It was a hectic day for families.

They got into their designated caravans, in each held twelve to thirteen people and in madam Phillips was a total of twelve.

At the end by madam Phillips was Adela and opposite her mama was Aira who kept her eyes closed.

After almost four hours of riding they got to the Marquis house.

Two hard bangs on top of their bars and the hooves came to a halt. They got down the ride and drank the luxurious sight of their new environment. They were delegated to several sections and rooms, each family per section.

It was evening and everyone was required to be at the courtyard after rest where instructions for the night would be given.

Their supervision was rolled by Mrs Gillis the senior maid and a governess of the viscounts house .

Instructions were given after much time spent outside they were finally dismissed and treated to a meal before they retired for the night.

It was very early in the morning exactly first cock crow, Mrs Phillys had woken her daughters as mothers or guardians would not be participating; they're required to provide basic assistance and information etc for the estate.

They ladies were led to the ballroom where a test of basic courtesy would be run. There were 12 per badges and 10 badges. Adelas and her sister were sixth.

They were to introduce themselves and perform basic courtesy like bowing etc. They were given bronze brooches to indicate as novice or starter of this test, as time goes this broaches changes in quality.

As simple as it could seem a number almost as a badge where disqualified for what was considered loquacious and ill mannerisms. Though disqualified, each got home with a gold coin more or less.

Lessons were then held after and they were done for the day.

This continued for a week and about five badges either went home or disqualified, the next week would be a roundup week either go back home or move on to the next rank as they win their tag given changes.

The baron's estate shimmered with jubilation, merriments in the air, news of the Baron's only brother's son Lord Rahul who also was also a Lord, an Earl of another village would be visiting that day for as long as three days from. As everyone hurried, Aira hurried to the news towards the room. She rushed her cleaning and picked one of her best dresses. She also let her hair fall , then added light paint to her lips, make-up was a rare treasure to the locals. It was a thing of great pleasure to be visited by a noble of such status .

Contestants should consider this as an actual first test, your manners, uniqueness, skills, etiquettes must be at par as the princess of Kadrag's (Murmurs).....shhhh. Now you have learnt nothing, continued the governess. The reward for passing this test is a direct screening test to the Marquis house and the minority to the earls, you might as well land yourself a job and the best of which is the first and only gold badge bearer goes directly to the palace, be in your best as the weekend the viscount and other vassals representatives would be present. Goodluck.
