Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: Wang Ye - Fighting Against Yourself? Seriously!

Faced with the ferocious assault team, the HYDRA soldiers, already rattled by Wang Ye's attack, stood no chance. Within minutes, they were completely wiped out.

"Captain, all enemy forces have been eliminated. Awaiting orders!"

A soldier named Baru approached Wang Ye, saluting as he reported their victory. His eyes were filled with admiration for Wang Ye.

"Have the men gather all HYDRA weapons in the open field.

Everyone can choose whichever weapon feels most comfortable. These weapons pack quite a punch!"

Wang Ye glanced at the scattered, primitive-looking energy weapons on the ground. He figured upgrading the assault team's arsenal would make it easier to handle the remaining two bases.

"Yes, Captain!"

Baru obeyed and began organizing the men to move the weapons.

Soon, all the weapons from the camp were piled up in an open area at its center. The soldiers eagerly picked their favorite weapons and tested their power.

To their surprise, they also found a brand-new tank in the camp's warehouse. Coincidentally, one of the soldiers was skilled at operating tanks. After a brief inspection, he quickly figured out how to operate it.

After a short break, the soldiers familiarized themselves with their new equipment and regrouped, ready for their next orders.

Wang Ye observed the soldiers, now armed with upgraded gear, their faces glowing with enthusiasm. Clearing his throat, he addressed them:

"Our first target has been successfully taken, but there's no time to relax.

Our next target is the second camp, which is the most heavily defended of the three.

Its defenses are similar to the first camp, but it has more troops and more advanced weaponry.

The unusual intensity at the frontlines suggests that this base is protecting something—or someone—of great importance.

Therefore, our next assault must be swift and decisive. Before they can destroy the base to cover their secrets, we must uncover what they're protecting!"

Wang Ye studied the latest reconnaissance reports and began formulating a detailed plan.

The strategy wasn't particularly sophisticated, but it was the most effective and efficient approach.

"Does everyone understand the mission?"

"Yes, sir!" the soldiers replied in unison.

"Move out!"

Back at the Allied Camp

"How long has Captain Wang Ye been out?"

Colonel Phillips asked his adjutant as he reviewed the latest reports in his hand.

"Captain Wang Ye left at nine this morning. It's been ten hours now," the adjutant replied cautiously, wary of making any mistakes after the earlier communication mishap that almost cost him dearly.

"Hmm, I hope this operation goes smoothly. If they manage to eliminate all three camps, the war here could finally come to an end."

Despite his hopes, Phillips couldn't shake the worry that Wang Ye might be in danger. No matter how capable, one person's strength was ultimately limited. Facing a heavily fortified HYDRA base with advanced weaponry was no easy feat.

What Phillips didn't anticipate was that Wang Ye not only had a strong resolve but also a knack for unconventional tactics.

As Phillips mused, the ground beneath his feet began to vibrate slightly.

Moments later, commotion erupted outside the camp.

Frowning, Phillips rose and headed out to investigate, with his nervous adjutant trailing close behind.

Outside the Allied Camp

Two HYDRA tanks, bearing American flags, and four armored vehicles approached the camp in grand procession.

At first, the soldiers in the camp panicked, thinking HYDRA was launching a direct attack.

They grabbed their weapons and prepared to fight.

But as they noticed the tall, commanding figure of Wang Ye standing atop one of the tanks, along with the familiar flag fluttering beside him, they breathed a collective sigh of relief. Cheers of excitement soon filled the air.

Phillips, watching Wang Ye's dramatic entrance, couldn't help but roll his eyes.

"Colonel, these are the spoils from the assault," Wang Ye announced from atop the tank, pointing to the cargo behind them.

"This should give that kid Howard Stark plenty to study. Who knows? It might help us develop new equipment!"

Everyone's attention shifted to the massive crates trailing behind the tanks and armored vehicles. They were filled with an assortment of HYDRA energy weapons.

"Captain Wang Ye, you've outdone yourself this time!"

Phillips beamed with joy at the sight of the advanced weaponry.

Wang Ye leaped off the tank and quickly approached Phillips, pulling a waterproof-sealed document from his jacket.

"I found this in a heavily guarded room within the base. If I hadn't acted fast, it would have been destroyed.

I haven't had time to review it, but you should take a look. It seems critical."

Phillips nodded solemnly as he took the document.

"This isn't the right place. Let's check it in the command tent. It might contain crucial, classified information."

With that, Phillips headed toward the tent.

After instructing Baru and the others to deliver the equipment to the logistics department, Wang Ye followed Phillips inside.

In the Command Tent

Phillips carefully peeled off the waterproof layer protecting the document.

As the final layer came off, it revealed a red cover adorned with a gilded five-pointed star.

Below the star, in Russian, were the words: Winter Soldier Program.
