"First of all, an inheritance is something that a Cultivator would, as the name suggests, inherit the legacy of a dead individual, although I'm a special case, but I won't get into that now. Are you following along so far?"
Yin Lian looked up at nothing in particular and said, "Uhhh… Yes?"
"Mmm. Now, this inheritance is specifically for the Asura, a being commonly known to cause chaos and death indiscriminately. Although not always the case, this is the most common form of the Asura. Still following along?"
"… No." Yin Lian paused before answering, slowly getting lost the more the Will spoke.
'At least she was honest.' The Will thought to itself. "What part specifically do you not understand?"
Yin Lian looked at the floor and said, "All of it."
The Will sighed and asked, "Do you know what a cultivator is?"
Yin Lian responded with a nod.
"Nn. An inheritance is the legacy a powerful cultivator leaves behind for someone else to inherit, whether it be through trials or some other means, someone will eventually obtain this inheritance. This one is an exception though, as I'm not dead, but I won't get into that."
He continued, "As for what the Asura is, as I said, it is commonly depicted as a wild killer, with no real motive. But the truth is far from that, and the only reason I let you in here was because you met the requirements to become an Asura."
"What wekwioments?" Yin Lian stumbled over her words as she'd never learned such complex words. She could somewhat understand what they meant by how they were used, but that was it.
"Yes, the requirements being the desire to kill, a desire for revenge and lastly, although this part isn't necessary, a compatible physique. Those are the requirements for this inheritance." The Will explained.
"Do I have all that stuff?" Yin Lian asked curiously.
The Will answered, "Indeed, you have a seething hatred festering within you, which when unleashed, will drive you to enact your revenge. As for your physique, it will work with the inheritance."
"What is my pha-phi-ph-pha." She struggled to ask what her physique was.
"If you're asking what your physique is, then it is the Eternal Nine Yins physique." The Will explained.
"Etew-Eternal Nine Yins?" She questioned.
"Yes." The Will confirmed, before realising a moment later that she doesn't know what that is. "Allow me to explain what that is. The Eternal Nine Yins physique is a physique that can contain specifically Nine of the several Yins that exist."
"The physique that you have allows you to comprehend several of the Daos that originate from the Dao of Yin, some of which you will have an easier time comprehending than others."
Yin Lian just stared blankly into the darkness above where she assumed the voice was coming from.
"You don't understand, do you?" The Will asked with a sigh.
"No..." Yin Lian answered with a slight melancholy.
"No matter, you will come to understand in time. Right now, you will receive the Inheritance, of the Asura."
And as soon as the Will stated that, the hall suddenly lit up with red lights coming from the ceiling, scaring Yin Lian.
Thankfully, that was all that happened, and with the hall now lit up, she could see various objects placed upon their own pedestal, and at the end of the hall, she saw a throne made out of a red crystal of some kind.
She felt a resonance with the throne and got up, forgetting her fear, and walked towards it.
The closer she got to the throne, the greater the resonance, almost as if it belonged to her.
As the Will observed this, he could clearly see the resonance between Yin Lian and the throne.
'Hmm…' The Will was intrigued by this development. 'Seems I was right to choose her.'
And as Yin Lian got closer and closer to the throne, her heart rate sped up, this time not out of fear, but out of anticipation and excitement.
She could feel it, deep within her soul, she could feel that this was something that was destined for her, something that was just simply hers.
And as she reached the gleaming blood red throne, which was too big for her small body, she noticed a black book with red inscriptions on it placed upon the seat.
She hopped up onto the seat of the throne and stared down at the book that lay upon it in wonder.
"Yin Lian." The Will called out, startling her out of her trance.
"W-What?"
"That book, along with everything else in this temple, is now yours."
Yin Lian looked back at the rest of the hall and saw several items placed upon their own pedestals, along with a small mountain of strange glowing rocks. Her eyes shone with a childlike wonder at the spectacle before her.
"All this… Mine?" She questioned, not believing that all of this now belonged to her.
"Yes, everything you see here is yours. However, you can't take everything right away."
"Why not?" Yin Lian moaned in disgruntlement.
"First of all, you physically cannot carry all of this with you, second, some of it you're not ready for just yet. Don't worry though, it's still all yours."
"For now though, we need to open up your Meridians so that you can begin cultivating. If you open that book in front of you, it should tell you how to do so, also, you shouldn't follow the steps exactly as that might ruin your cultivation."
Yin Lian was overwhelmed by everything so she just decided to do what she could understand, which was opening the book.
The cover was rather heavy for someone as small as her, yet she still managed to open it up.
When she gazed upon the first page, although she couldn't actually read it, she still knew what it said, and it read:
"The path of the Asura is one fraught with the Blood of any who stand in your way, forever alone on their path of vengeance to the peak. Embrace the fury and let it fuel you on your journey, master this path to become, The Asura."
There was a sense of profoundness in that text that invoked a feeling that made Yin Lian's heart race with an intense fiery fury.
She turned the page and continued reading. The next page was the actual start of the book, and it began by explaining how to manipulate the latent energy in one's body to open their Meridians.
This was the beginning of Yin Lian's cultivation journey.
