Chapter 52 - Tonsure

"Pervert woman?" Jian Xiaolou immediately ignored his narcissism. "How perverted?"

"Lady Yusha is as debauched as they come, a pervert to the extreme. For centuries, she's kept a harem of male pets for her pleasure. Once she grows tired of them, she castrates them all, turns them into human jerky, and hangs them on the mountain cliffs," the fake Taoist said with a grimace. "And then she goes out hunting for new ones to repeat the process..."

What a ruthless psychopath!

Jian Xiaolou drew in a sharp breath. "What's her cultivation level?"

"Early Golden Core."

"An early Golden Core cultivator and no one's dealt with her?"

Jian Xiaolou couldn't help but scoff. Given Lady Yusha's heinous acts, she should at least be a Nascent Soul cultivator to ensure her survival from her enemies, right?

The fake Taoist smiled mysteriously. "That's the strange part. No one in the Southern Spiritual Continent dares cross Lady Yusha. Even the Sect Master of Wuji Sect avoids provoking her. No one knows who's backing her..."

As they spoke, the two of them replenished their spiritual energy and discussed how to escape their current predicament.

They were trapped in a cave. The entrance wasn't sealed, so escaping wasn't difficult. The problem was the unknown situation outside. In the end, they decided to fly upward.

The fake Taoist, being the stronger cultivator, was forced to take the lead, with Jian Xiaolou following close behind.

However, they had barely ascended a hundred meters when two large nets fell from above, capturing them both.

Jian Xiaolou hit the ground hard, entangled in the net. A sweet, sultry voice laughed from above. "Oh my, little one. How many times are you going to try to escape? What do you mean by this?"

She looked up to see a woman in her thirties walking toward her, barefoot, with tinkling ornaments adorning her. Her voice suggested a stunning beauty, but her face, thick with makeup, was gaudy and vulgar.

The fake Taoist immediately put on a fawning smile. "How could I ever think of escaping, my Lady? I wish I could stick to your side every day! I only worry that my constant presence might annoy you..."

Lady Yusha laughed, covering her mouth. "Oh? So you're playing hard to get with me?"

With a wave of her hand, the net trapping him vanished.

The fake Taoist scrambled to his feet, wrapped an arm around her slender waist, and planted a kiss on her heavily powdered cheek. His eyes were brimming with exaggerated affection. "As long as you understand my heart, my Lady."

Jian Xiaolou was so nauseated she almost vomited her last meal.

What monastery did this monk come from? His acting skills were Oscar-worthy.

Lady Yusha pinched his waist playfully, clearly pleased, then turned her sharp gaze toward Jian Xiaolou. "And who is this woman?"

"I just picked her up from a tree. I don't know her," he replied.

"Oh? Such a pretty little thing, and you don't know her?"

"I really don't," he insisted.

Lady Yusha's smile was radiant, but her eyes were icy as she looked at Jian Xiaolou. "Then go sleep with her and get acquainted."

Jian Xiaolou couldn't believe her ears.

The fake Taoist's hand around her waist froze. "My Lady, what do you mean by this..."

Lady Yusha caressed his hair with tender eyes. "You've always said you wouldn't defile me, refusing to spend the night with me. It pains me to see you suppressing yourself."

His smile stiffened. "That wouldn't be appropriate. My heart belongs only to you, my Lady."

Lady Yusha's face turned cold. "Will you do it or not? If not, I'll castrate you!"

Before the fake Taoist could react, Jian Xiaolou slashed through the net above her with her sword, unsheathing her Lotus Lamp as she pointed it at Lady Yusha. "You're asking for death!"

The fiery blade of the Lotus Lamp spun toward Lady Yusha.

"Insolent!" Lady Yusha hadn't expected a mere Foundation Establishment cultivator to dare attack her. She sneered and raised her sleeve to block.

To her shock, the flame blade pierced her protective barrier and slashed her arm, leaving a sizzling, festering wound.

"What is this?" Lady Yusha exclaimed, alarmed.

"You're a demon?" Jian Xiaolou was equally startled. Wait, no. Through her Delusion-Breaking technique, she couldn't detect any demonic aura on Lady Yusha. Why, then, was she vulnerable to karmic fire?

"You're the demon!"

At the word "demon," Lady Yusha's eyes turned blood-red, as if triggered by a spell. She summoned a crimson silk ribbon—a top-tier Heaven-grade spiritual weapon.

Panicking, Jian Xiaolou slapped her storage pouch, releasing her twin gourds. "Absorb!"

Lady Yusha screamed as her body dissolved into black mist, which was sucked into the gourd.

The fake Taoist stood dumbfounded. "You… Are you hiding your true cultivation level?"

Still disgusted by his earlier performance, Jian Xiaolou cupped her hands perfunctorily. "Fellow Daoist, you'd better leave quickly. Farewell."

Without waiting for a response, she flew off.

She needed to find her friends and destroy Lady Yusha before the latter could escape the gourd. Otherwise, her life would remain in danger.

As for who might be protecting Lady Yusha, Jian Xiaolou didn't care.

In the Southern Spiritual Continent, who could have a bigger backer than Chan Lingzi?
