Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The Trip to Diagon Alley

At this moment, Augustus stood with his parents at the entrance to Diagon Alley. The cobblestone street stretched endlessly, filled with witches and wizards in a variety of attire. To Augustus, a legendary mage with the *Eye of Insight* activated, they appeared as walking clusters of light—some bright, some dim—each representing their respective magical power.

As they moved with the crowd, sunlight gleamed off a stack of cauldrons outside a nearby shop. A sign above read:

Brass – Pewter – Silver Cauldrons, All Sizes! Self-Stirring – Collapsible.

"We'll need to get you a wand first," Clovis said, turning to Augustus. "Though you've already mastered wandless magic, believe me, there's a significant difference in effect with and without a wand."

"A wand? Sounds interesting. Perhaps it will help me better understand this low-magic world," Augustus replied calmly, nodding slightly as he followed Clovis and Aurora toward the wand shop.

The shop was small and shabby, with a faded gold-lettered sign that read:

Ollivanders: Makers of Fine Wands Since 382 BC.

In the dusty display window, a single wand rested on a faded purple cushion.

As they entered, a tinkling sound came from somewhere at the back of the shop. The space was tiny, with only a long bench and little else.

"Good afternoon," a soft voice suddenly greeted them. Looking toward the source, they saw an old man standing before them. His pale eyes gleamed like two bright moons in the dimly lit shop.

"Hello, Ollivander. It's been a long time," Clovis said warmly, patting the old man's shoulder.

"Ah, yes," Ollivander replied. "Indeed, it has, Duke Clovis, Lady Aurora. I remember when you bought your first wands here. Feels like only yesterday. And this young gentleman must be your son, here to choose his wand today."

"Of course," Ollivander continued. "Though, in my experience, it is not so much the wizard who chooses the wand as it is the wand that chooses the wizard."

Hearing such an intriguing statement, Augustus, who had been observing the room with interest, shifted his gaze back to Ollivander.

"Then, sir, how do you ensure the wand chooses its master?" Augustus asked, a faintly perfect smile curving his lips.

"Every Ollivander wand is crafted with a core of powerful magical substances—that is its essence, Mr. Julius," Ollivander explained, his tone serene. "We use unicorn hair, phoenix feathers, and dragon heartstrings. No two Ollivander wands are alike, just as no two unicorns, dragons, or phoenixes are identical. Thus, every wand is unique to its master. When a wand meets its true owner, it will emit a radiant glow, unmistakable and dazzling."

Ollivander's pale gaze rested on Augustus as he spoke, his words resonating with an air of mystery.

"All right, Mr. Julius, which arm do you use for your wand?" Ollivander asked.

"I'm accustomed to using my right hand," Augustus replied, raising his right hand to touch his prominent nose.

"Hmm," Ollivander muttered, giving him a quick glance. He pulled out a long strip of measuring tape engraved with silver markings from his pocket and stepped forward, ready to measure Augustus. The latter, however, declined.

"Sir, there's no need for the trouble. I believe I've already found my wand."

As soon as he spoke, a long box suddenly slid out from the top shelf behind Ollivander, and a straight silver wand flew toward him. The moment Augustus held the wand, the immense magic he had been suppressing suddenly erupted. In an instant, everything in Ollivander's Wand Shop was blown to smithereens—furniture, rooms, and countless wands scattered across the floor. Even the neighboring shops were affected.

Clovis and Aurora stared at their son in shock, unprepared for the terrifying outburst of Augustus's magic, which had never manifested before.

"This… this is impossible." Ignoring the destruction of his shop, Ollivander's already large eyes seemed ready to pop out of their sockets as he stared at the silver wand in Augustus's hand.

"The brother wand to the Elder Wand… the *Silver Moon Wand*. Its emergence at this time—what does it signify?" Ollivander muttered to himself, fixated on the silver wand.

"Silver Moon Wand, is it? A nice name," Augustus said calmly. At that moment, the Silver Moon Wand in his hand appeared to him like a giant luminous entity, radiating a powerful glow. "But I must apologize for the damage to your shop. We will make reparations as soon as possible."

"It's fine, don't worry about it," Ollivander waved his hand dismissively and added, "I must apologize that I cannot reveal the materials of this wand. However, since it has chosen you, please cherish it, Mr. Julius."

"Of course." Holding the wand, Augustus felt an intimate connection between himself and the Silver Moon Wand, as though their very bloodlines were intertwined. Gazing at the magnificent wand, Augustus continued, "Whether it is the wizard who chooses the wand or the wand that chooses the wizard, I believe the two are destined to possess each other the moment they meet."

As he stepped out into the street, dusk was already approaching. Augustus glanced at the list sent by the school.
