Chapter 243 - Chapter 243: The Path Among the Stars

Amidst the boundless expanse of the cosmos, the Violet Cloud Tower drifted aimlessly along the circular planes. Within the central control room, Augustus meticulously charted the stellar pathways nearby. With the integration of basalt into its structure, the Cloud Tower had gained the ability to perform minor plane jumps. For the Julius Legion's magic apprentices, the parallel worlds of alternate dimensions provided an unparalleled training ground.

Over the long ages of interstellar travel, space-bridge technology for mage towers proved unstable and inefficient. Instead, mages commonly used the negative energy generated by the annihilation of magical elements to tear open spatial rifts. By referencing galactic grid maps, they could connect two points in the universe and construct stable star gates for dimensional leaps. These artificial wormholes were highly reliable. When situated within a binary star system, the gravitational resonance between the celestial bodies further enhanced the mage tower's ability to traverse great distances between planes.

Naturally, the greater the mass of the celestial bodies in the binary system, the stronger the gravitational resonance. This meant that the twin stars required for planar transfers needed to be at least equivalent in mass to Earth.

However, for the Cloud Tower to travel through these wormholes, each end of the spatial rift needed to link to a corresponding star gate. This limitation meant the mage tower could only jump within navigable space where wormholes could be created. Precision in spatial coordinates was critical—any deviation in alignment could result in being transported to a system light-years away.

For Augustus, adept at creating negative energy through magical annihilation to tear spatial rifts, traversing planes was second nature. After all, for a legendary mage, interdimensional travel was practically a requisite skill. With all preparations in place—including mapping stellar routes and constructing the spatial grid—Augustus tapped into the reserves of fire and ice elements in the Cloud Tower's alchemical gardens to generate the necessary energy. Around the tower, a self-resonant four-dimensional flow began to form. The spatial magnetic field vibrated, creating a powerful force field that warped stable space into a highly curved tendril.

After a brief moment of stillness and precise calculations by the Cloud Tower's spatial navigation systems, Augustus fed the designated spatial coordinates into the elemental feedback loop. The curved tendril extended to its peak curvature, and at its apex, a smaller tendril materialized in a distant high-density stellar domain. The space wormhole was complete.

The Violet Cloud Tower's glowing purple radiance gradually blurred and faded. In the darkness of the cosmos, the towering structure disappeared across the parallel threshold.

Under a crimson twilight sky, a scarlet full moon hung prominently, dominating most of the heavens. Its blood-red light cascaded across the rugged mountain ranges below. The undulating peaks were bathed in an eerie glow, their silence broken only by the occasional haunting howls.

Beneath the crimson sky, faint ripples spread through the air, accompanied by a low rumbling sound. In the next moment, a black speck materialized out of nowhere in the heavens. The vibrant moonlight flowed over the towering Violet Cloud Tower, creating a striking interplay of purple and red hues, slicing through the dim night with dazzling brilliance.

The Cloud Tower glided steadily through the vast skies, heading toward the unknown.

"Where are we? Did we return to Earth?" Harry pressed his face against the enormous crystal window, his eyes fixed on the blood-red moon hovering nearby. "Everything was pitch-black before, and now, it feels like we're in an entirely different place."

"If I had to guess, this is another planet. That 'moon' up there might be this world's satellite," Hermione murmured, lightly touching her forehead. "But it's hard to believe there's a planet with Earth-like conditions somewhere in the Milky Way."

Angelina joined Harry at the window, tapping on the crystalline surface. "I doubt it's that simple. Have you noticed how incredibly dense the magical elements feel here? If this planet were near Earth, human technology would've detected it by now. And if it's light-years away, how could the Cloud Tower have arrived so quickly? Traveling at or beyond light speed would've killed us."

"Indeed," Thor nodded thoughtfully, his deep blue eyes filled with contemplation. "As our senior here noted, this place is likely far beyond the Milky Way. Otherwise, human satellites or telescopes would've identified it long ago. Moreover, the sheer density of magical energy makes this place an unparalleled haven for cultivation."

"Still, why bring us here?" Ginny questioned, crossing her arms. "For us magic apprentices, the focus should be on learning to harness the arcane bridge to connect with the Weave and mastering spellcasting. There's no need to specifically seek out a place with such abundant magical energy just for training."

Malfoy smirked faintly. "Since Augustus chose this place as our training ground, he must have his reasons. If you're scared, you're welcome to leave. No one will stop you. Heh, the Weasleys have always been cowards."

Ron's face flushed with anger, his fists clenching. Ginny tugged at his sleeve, silently shaking her head.

"Regardless of why we're here, Augustus surely has a purpose," Lillian remarked as she reclined against a silver-metallic table, propping her chin on one hand. Her crimson eyes reflected the alien sky. "And honestly, the view is quite mesmerizing."

"I think we should prepare ourselves," Cho mused, twirling a strand of her dark hair. Her ebony eyes glinted with resolve. "If this is a training ground, especially in an unknown location, we're bound to face challenges. From the looks of it, this trial will likely become a grand stage for honing our magical skills."
