Meeting
I can't believe my father. How can he invite Alpha Montgramy to this meeting? How can any alpha who allows witches in his pack be considered an alpha.? Haven't they learned anything after the witches betrayed us for the hunters? They are the sole reason the hunters know how to kill us now. As I'm sitting here in this pointless meeting, I hear Alpha Montgramy say his peace on why his so-called daughter should lead the pack. I turn to Lucifer, snicker, and hear what my dad says. "Do you have something you want to share with us, son?"
I answer with a sinister smile on my face and say, "Yes, Father, I disagree that a witch should not lead a pack." I say, looking at her, and she looks so relieved until I add. "Let alone be alive; they are monsters; they deserve death." I hear shocked gasps around the room. Then, all of a sudden, the air shifted and the ground started to shake. Everyone started to yell, and I looked up. A pure white wolf with green eyes was standing in front of me, and she looked pissed. I look at Tatscarlet, and she is passed out on the ground.
This wolf is refusing to let anyone near her. Then I heard one word I always wanted to hear: "mate." Wait, what do you have to be fucking me? Is this some kind of sick joke?
Scarlet pov
We have been in this meeting for three hours, and it's been pointless.
I've been listening to everyone argue about whether they should or should not lead a pack. Do they not care to hear what I have to say? Why can't they ask me what I want? I do not want to lead a pack. First, I'm not a wolf; it's not my place to lead a wolf pack. Second, I want to be a healer.
All of a sudden, I hear a snicker, and ®mI'm pulled out of my thoughts when I hear the king say. "Do you have something you want to share with us, son?"
And of course, the prince smiles with an evil, sinister smile and says,
"Father." He answers and then continues. "I disagree that a witch should not be allowed to lead a pack." He says I let out a sigh of relief. Then he looks at me with so much hate and disgust and says,
"Let alone be alive; they are monsters." Everyone in the room let out a gasp of shock. All of a sudden, the ground started to shake, and my head started to hurt. I grab my head in pain, and then the ground stops shaking. Then I look up, and Luci, my little wolf pup, is here, fully grown. What, how, what? I say to myself, then hear it in my head.
"Hello, scar I'm your guardian." After that, everything went black.
Ares Pov:
This can't be happening. How can a witch be my mate? No, it has to be some type of mistake. The moon goddess wouldn't give me a witch for a mate, ya, that's what it is. I kept saying this as I was running through the woods. It's my favorite thing to do. I love the feeling of being free, with the wind blowing through my fur and the sand and grass under my paws. I can feel my wolf getting mad at me every time I think that this is some mistake and every time I say that this witch isn't my mate. He wants to accept her, but I will not let him. I will not receive a witch for my mate.
"ARES! Get home now and meet me in my office." My father yells through the pack link.
"Yes, Father, "I reply through our pack link, turn around, and run back the way I came from. I get back to the palace and shift back into human form, and a guard is there with a pair of shorts. I hurry and put them on, then turn and ask the guard where my father is.
"He is in the carriage house, sir." a guard answers.
"Thank you," I say, and I turn to walk to the carriage house. Why is he in the carriage house office? He never calls me there unless something is wrong. I think to myself.
"Father", I say when I enter the office, "What do you need? This better be important. I'm going to my so-called mate and reject her. You will do no such thing, he roars. He has to be kidding. I will not mate with a witch, and no way in hell will I accept her.
Son, this is good. The prince of wolves mated to a witch will bring our kind to peace with the witches, and they will see we accept them like I have been trying to do for
centuries, and the other wolf packs will have to accept them also. Or it could be destruction and war.
Father, you have to think of both sides. People say my sister speaks up, which she never does, so I was very surprised when she did. Don't get me wrong, I love this girl. She is a spitfire, sassy, and burns with passion, but all I can see is destruction with them accepting each other. What do you mean, Pen?
My father asks her, and she takes a deep breath. "Father, she is the girl from my dreams." Wait, what I ask confused, what do you mean dreams? I look between my father and sister. Hello, will you two answer me?
Ares You will be going home with her, and you will accept her, take it slow if you need to, and make her feel welcome in our family. She is your mate, and you will be faithful.
If you so much say the words of rejection to her, you can kiss your crown goodbye. Do you understand me? Oh, and take Lucifer with you; maybe he will find his mate and possibly stop sleeping with your sister. What do I scream?
I'm pissed I'm beyond pissed. I'm going to kill him. Yes, he is my best friend, but he is sleeping with my sister. That's not okay. Im walking back to the palace after I left the carriage house and storm inside I walk past Scarlett's room that she has been staying in and go to Lucifer's room and find he's not there and then all of sudden I hear someone scream SAY WHAT NO he is not my mate I refuse it he is a dick and hates what I am. I peek into the room, and I see Scarlett visibly upset and her father and my mother trying to talk to her and bring her back down from her rage. Lucifer is standing, blocking her father and my mother from harm's way. Scarlett calms down. Now that's an order.
Her father yells at her, and that seems to upset her more and make her even more unstable. I look closer, and she looks a little pale, and all of a sudden she jumps up and runs past me. I watch her leave and am about to follow when her father tells me to leave her; she needs time alone.
I turn back and look at Lucifer and walk up to him. He just smiles and says, "What up, bro?" I bring my fist back and slam it into his face.
"Dude, what the fuck was that for your dick?" That's for sleeping with my sister, you jackass. I told you a long time ago that she was off limits.
Wait, I'm not sleeping with your sister. He yells back, and I scuff and walk away. I ain't got time to deal with his lies. I yell over my shoulder and pack a bag. I'm leaving tomorrow with the witch and her father for two weeks. I go to my room, look around, and see that I have a lot of packing to do. As I started packing, I heard a knock on my door, and I turned to answer the door. Standing there was Alexia, one of my flings. She is short and curvy with blonde hair, brown eyes, and full, beautiful plump lips. "Hey, Lexi," I start to say, and then I'm cut off. "Is it true that you mated to a filthy-blooded witch? You can't be seriously thinking of going through this mate thing and accepting her!"
"Lexi, chill, I'm just going to her pack to please my Father. Your king mind you, and it's not honestly your fucking business what Im doing. You were nothing but a fling. Now get out of my room. I need to finish packing, and you are doing nothing but pissing me off."
Lexi stormed, feeling nothing but anger and embarrassment ruining her veins. As she stomps down the hall, she bumps into Scarlet. "You little good for nothing, bitch!" Lexi yells at her and pulls her arm back, getting ready to punch her, but she is not fast enough as she gets halfway. Scarlet reacts and grabs her. "Don't you dare try hitting me. I didn't do anything to you, and I don't even know who you are," Scarlet says with confusion and anger. "Ares is mine and you stole him. He was supposed to be my mate, not a filthy little witch like you. He doesn't even want you; he wanted me, and now he can't be with me because of you." Scarlet looks away and notices that this girl is causing a scene and people are gathering, and one of the people that is watching this mess is the Queen.
Look, whoever you are, I don't want to be with Ares; he is only doing what the King told him to. You can have him all you want; just stop making a scene for no reason. That just made Lexi even madder, and this time she succeeded and hit her in the face. This shocked Scarlet and upset her, and then all of a sudden her powers reacted, and the walls around her started shaking, as did the floor, and everyone started screaming. Scarlet looked at the girl, grabbed her, and started punching her. With every punch she got on the girl, the walls and floor started shaking more and harder.
"Scarlet, stop!" she heard and looked up, and it was the queen yelling and running to her to stop her. She felt someone grab her, and she stopped as she felt the electrifying shock run through her body, and she knew right then and there who it was. She looked back, saw those forest-green eyes, and walked away.
