Mariah walked through the lonely pathway. She was so upset and couldn't even think properly. She was so down to think that she was not marrying a personike herself.
She wiped the tears that flowed from her eyes but no matter how she tried they just kept coming.
She finally broke down into sobs. She didn't want this. Why did life finally decide to treat her in this manner and at this time of her life?
She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't notice that she was going in another direction than her house.
She walked past three guys. They all looked back, acknowledging how pretty she was.
"She is so pretty and has nice curves too." One of them said lustfully.

"Hey there pretty lady." The tallest of them called.
His voice brought her out of her reverie. She suddenly noticed she wasn't on the path leading to her house.
She turned, so she could go back but was blocked by the three guys.
"Where are you going pretty? Don't you wanna have some fun?" The second guy winked.
She frowned at looked at them with irritation, "Please I don't have time for any of you craps. Now please get out of my way." She sneered.
The first guy squinted his eyes, "We're acting nicely and you call us craps?"
He pushed her and she fell on the ground screaming.
"What are you doing? Lemme go!" She screamed.
She tried standing up but they pinned her down.
"It seems you don't like being talked to nicely. Huh?" He squinted his eyes.
The third guy said, "Since we're the only ones here, why don't we have some fun?" He winked at the others.
"No, no?" She screamed, kicking wildly.
The first guy tore off her shirt leaving her on only her purple bra. They all licked their lips.
"Pretty." They said lustfully.
"I wanna go first." The second guy said.
The others looked at him, "Don't be stupid." The first guy said.
"Excuse me? Why can't I go first? I'm the most muscular here and you all know it." He boasted.
Mariah was still sufficating under the weight of them.
The third guy laughed, the rest two were bickering like babies because of a woman.
He tore off her skirt leaving her in undies. Mariah began to cry and beg.
"Please let me go. Don't do this I beg you." She pleaded in tears.
The third guy reached out to take off her bra. A roar stopped him from doing so.
His eyes fell on someone and his smile disappeared.
His face went pale and his knees were numb.
The rest noticed this and they traced where his eyes was to the person behind them. They screamed.
"You dare try to rape my mate?!" His voice sounded like a rose.
The three guys shook uncontrollably. Mariah saw his face again. He looked more horrible than the last night. She couldn't take all of it at once and she passed out.
Lucas advanced towards them angrily.
"Humans... You think you can take everything huh? Even the things that don't belong to you!" His fangs elongated and his claws grew.
They all began to beg, "Please have mercy on us. Don't kill us please." They all began to cry.
He got to where they stood, "Not today." He made a swipe of his claws and they were all gone.
His eyes went to Mariah and they softened. They went back to its original color. His fangs retracted and his claws went hidden.
He walked up to her and picked her up. He looked at the marks made on her skin and he was angry again.
He sighed and vanished.

She opened her eyes slowly. She looked around confused. She realised she was not at home she sat up with a start.
"Where am I? " She looked around.
"Mom? Dad? Where are you guys? Where am I?" She shouted and wanted to get down from the bed.
"You're in your future husband's house." His voice sounded in her ears.
She turned to look at him.
"Why did you bring me here?" She fired st him.
He arched his brows and he frowned, "Don't you raise your voice at me." He said coldly and she kept quiet.
"Those puny little humans were about to get you raped but I saved you just in time." He held his chest and rubbed it gently.
She blinked, "You saved me." She said quietly.
He entered the room, "Yeah, I did. I had to suffer pain all because of your carelessness." He stood above her.
She shrinked.
"What were you even thinking of? Don't you know you can't walk I'm lonely paths? Have you forgotten you are in a human world?" He frowned deeply.
She gulped and covered herself with the sheets. He sounded scary.
He closed his eyes and inhaled.
"Listen." His tone was much softer and she felt at ease a little.
"You have to be more careful. Don't just walk about absent minded. This human world of yours is not a pretty place to live in peace. Those stupid men are bound to do what they did today because you are..."
She looked at him with keen eyes, "What?"
He bent his head, "You know what it is." He sighed and went to her bedside table.
Despite herself, her cheeks flushed.
He handed a cup of coffee, "Here, take it. I heard humans take it for strength."
She took it from him and drank it slowly.
"Thank you." She said quietly.
"What about my parents? They'll be very worried." She whined.
"Forget it. They won't know you're gone." He assured her.
"How do you know that?" She raised her brows.
He faced her, "That's because I'm not a human." He smirked.
She frowned and looked away.
He sat on the bed, "Do you feel better?" He asked plainly.
She reluctantly nodded.
He scoffed, "Gosh! You're so ungrateful. I saved you and you're giving me attitude?" He arched his brow. He stood up and left the room.
She felt bad. He did save her life. Save for him, she would have been raped by three men. She sighed and lay down on the bed.

When she opened her eyes again, it was already night time. She yawned and got down from the bed. Her hands, feet and back were already numb.
She rubbed her back and proceeded to go downstairs. She rubbed her eyes and yawned again. She was very hungry.
She got out of the room. She had almost reached the stairs when she heard a strange noise. Curious, she went to the room.
When she got to the door, she opened it a little so she could peep. When she looked in, her jaw dropped and her heart entered her stomach.
This was the most terrible and amazing sight ever!
