Chapter 1 - Skyrail, Here I Come!

"Enjoy your trip son son. Always remember that no matter how old you are or where you're at, you're always my baby boy and I will always miss you!"

Here's an example of a motherly kiss on the cheek:

With a gentle smile, she cupped his face in her hands, her thumb brushing over his cheek

*muah*

Before she placed a soft, loving kiss there. It was the kind of kiss that spoke of years of care, warmth, and unspoken promises, leaving him feeling cherished and admittedly a bit awkward, with his closed eye and light sigh releasing the utterance of defeat.

"You don't need to worry about me too much mom, you know what I am all about!" And his voice was gentle and sweet with assurance as he grasped her shoulders with a soft touch.

His name was Kelson Hartwell.

He appeared youthful, no older than twenty, yet carried an air of maturity that made him seem timeless. Standing at an impressive 6'3", his presence was naturally striking, not just because of his height but the quiet intensity he exuded. His skin was a rich, unblemished brown, smooth and healthy with a subtle glow that hinted at resilience and vitality.

Crowning his head was a medium-length, curly afro, a striking blend of black and silver that shimmered under the light, giving it a glossy, almost metallic sheen. His curls were artfully tousled, each one adding to the relaxed but meticulous style that suited him well and his groomed sideburns and beard provided a flare.

His eyes were an enchanting shade of teal, as vibrant and refined as the gemstone itself, with a depth that seemed to hint at wisdom beyond his years. His pupils had a captivating, almost mystical quality, as if holding secrets just out of reach. Beneath his intense gaze and his lined tash, his lips were a soft shade of pink, balanced and natural, adding warmth to his otherwise composed expression.

Dressed in a blend of rugged and refined fashion, he wore a pair of black denim trousers that fit him well, accentuating his tall frame. Over this, he sported a brown cargo jacket that revealed a crisp white undershirt underneath, a contrast that added dimension to his look. His style was completed by sturdy, brown six-inch work boots, perfectly complementing the earthy tones of his outfit. The combination of practicality and sophistication in his attire reflected a man both grounded and purposeful, someone as much at ease in the city as in the wilderness.

With a mellow smile, she said "I know..."

And for Mr's. Hartwell, she appeared far younger than anyone might guess for a woman with a grown son, her graceful beauty defying the years. Standing at 5'6", she carried herself with a gentle, almost ethereal elegance. Her skin was radiant, smooth, and luminous, giving the impression of youth just blossoming, as though she were on the cusp of adulthood. Her lips, soft and natural, blended perfectly with her warm complexion, adding to her effortless beauty.

Her hair was a deep, silken cascade, flowing past her hips in glossy waves. Atop her head, delicate flowers rested in a floral arrangement resembling a natural tiara, giving her an air of regality intertwined with a wild, untouched charm. Her eyes, a striking shade of teal like the refined gem itself, mirrored the enchanting gaze of her son, both vibrant and gentle, capturing a timeless wisdom and warmth.

Dressed in a soft beige gown that hung gracefully below her shoulders, she looked both comfortable and dignified, her attire enhancing her feminine poise. The dress gently accentuated her figure, highlighting her natural curves in a way that was both modest and captivating. On her feet, beige flats complemented her gown, grounding her ethereal beauty with a touch of simplicity.

And they held their positions for a couple of seconds, when he saw his dad approaching them.

"It's a new world with its own set for rules my boy, but like your old pops always say, never take shit from anyone!" And he watched as his father extended his right hand towards him, his eyes grinning with confidence.

His grin widened as he simultaneously swung his open palm into that of his father with such a force that it echoes, but this also resulted in grasping their hands tightly, where both their bodies trembled in both tension and excitement.

Now his father Mr. Hartwell, Despite his age, he had the vitality and presence of a man in his prime, each detail of his appearance speaking to strength and self-assurance. Standing at an imposing 6'8", he matched his son's stature with only a subtle difference in height, yet he bore a refined air of authority that naturally drew respect.

His hair, a striking shade of silver, was neatly combed and kept short, revealing hints of a natural wave beneath its polished style. His beard and sideburns were meticulously groomed, shaped to emphasize his strong jawline, giving him a look that was both regal and approachable. Above his well-lined mustache, his lips were a warm shade of pink, a testament to the family's shared features.

His eyes were a brilliant silver, sharp and energized, exuding both warmth and quiet strength. His gaze held a spark of vitality, a testament to his resilient spirit and unwavering self-discipline. His skin was a rich brown, with a healthy, ruddy glow that hinted at a life well-cared-for, a man who respected his own well-being as much as his responsibilities.

Dressed in a crisp, white button-up shirt with the sleeves casually rolled to his forearms, he blended sophistication with ease. His black, silky trousers and polished leather shoes completed the ensemble, each piece understated yet impeccably chosen. Altogether, he conveyed the aura of a man both deeply grounded and profoundly noble, someone with a quiet strength that inspired those around him.

"Always learned from the best!" He said to his father with both their grins far too wide, though the last remark he made had his mom coughing, that gravitated their attention.

It didn't take more than two seconds before the three of them started bursting out with laughter.

"Haahhh, I wished the rest of you would've come with me, probably would've made a great family vacation, granted if it's as good as they say it was!" He lamented because prior before making his own reservation, he wanted to book flights for everyone in his family, but he had to ask his parents first, who refused and where all of this had fallen only on him.

Needless to say, it pains them to see their baby boy like that.

"Son, I know this is an opportunity for us to spend time with each other in new places, but your mother and I feel very comfortable being where we are, plus you know how your mother is around mega corporates..." This was the reason paraphrased by his father and said with no stress.

Though he had already understood despite it still being a fresh thing constantly running in his mind though he truly has to once again consider his mother's background.

"While I am gone please look after Toge and Verence for me. I don't want them getting anyone into trouble when I am not here" This was something already said before and already expected of his parents, but it must be a constant reminder.

His parents rolled their eyes with his father saying " You don't have to remind us for the ten thousand times, it's not our first rodeo dealing with those chaos incarnates!".

"We're more than capable of handling them now!" His mother finished.

Nodding with acknowledgement and "With that said and done." He went in and hugged each of his parents, not because he wants to but out of courtesy and that's what they want.

As he stepped back his parents waved him good bye, with him returning the gesture, but it did not extend only to them alone, but also to the youngsters that were behind them, it was cute seeing the youngsters wave at him so frantically.

He grabbed his luggage and went into the airport, which displayed the great city at a far distance up above;

"Skyrail City, here I come !"
