Gunfire echoed through the De Luca estate as Alessia huddled behind Marco.
"The Morani family wants revenge," Marco whispered, his eyes scanning the chaos.
Alessia's heart pounded. "For what?"
Marco's jaw clenched. "For Project Eclipse. They think we betrayed them."
Suddenly, a figure emerged from the shadows.
"Marco De Luca," the figure spat. "You'll pay for your treachery."
Alessia gasped. "Leon Morani."
Leon's eyes blazed with hatred. "You destroyed our family's future. Now, we'll destroy yours."
Marco stood tall, shielding Alessia. "You'll never take our territory."
Leon sneered. "We already have. Your allies are turning against you."
Alessia's mind reeled. Was this true?
Marco's phone buzzed. "What's happening?" he demanded.
"It's Giovanni," his consigliere replied. "The Rossis are pulling out. They're siding with the Morani."
Marco's face darkened. "Traitors."
Alessia's fear intensified. Were they surrounded?
Leon's laughter sent chills down her spine. "You're finished, De Lucas."
