Sophia's anxiety grew as the wedding day approached.

Alessandro's visits became more frequent, his presence suffocating.

"Sophia, my dear, you look lovely today," Alessandro said, his eyes roaming over her.

Sophia forced a smile.

"Thank you, Alessandro."

Their conversations felt scripted, lacking depth.

Alessandro's gaze intensified.

"I expect loyalty, Sophia. Above all else."

Sophia's heart sank.

"Loyalty to you? Or the De Luca family?"

Alessandro's smile hinted at warning.

"To me, Sophia. Always to me."

Sophia's resentment simmered.
