Chapter 8 - Eric Watson [3]

Eric collected a drop from both tubes and added them in a separate tune. Then he added a drop of water and shook it gently.

Nova's bright red blood and Toxsona's dark red began to merge. Slowly, the amount of dark blood began to disappear and after a few seconds, only a tiny amount remained.

"Oh my God! Your compatibility with Toxsona is more than 95%. I never thought I would see this spectacle again in my life." Eric exclaimed loudly in disbelief.

Nova too looked at the result with surprise, but more than that, he was happy and excited.

The compatibility is decided based on whose blood is dominant. If the monster's blood is dominant, the percentage will be less than fifty and if human blood is dominant, it will be more than fifty percent.

The compatibility rate is very important in potions and one cannot take a potion made with less than 50 percent.

At least fifty percent is necessary for guaranteed survival. After that, a higher percentage will grant more benefits.

Everything related to compatibility comes under individual talent. Basically, a talented person will have a high compatibility with almost every monster— making a wide variety of choices.

However, a talentless person will not have a high compatibility with most of the monsters, making their choice very limited.

"Allow me to introduce myself again, I'm Eric Watson, from the Watson Family."

"And what is your name again? I have a problem with remembering names." Eric suddenly said, his voice wasn't carefree as before, instead he was a little polite.

Nova fell silent when he heard Eric.

'Did you ever ask my name in the first place? You didn't even ask my opinion from the start till now.'

Nova wanted to complain, but he didn't dare to raise his voice just because Eric talked a little politely.

Nova knew the reason that Eric was talking nicely to him should be related to his talent. Although he didn't know what ninety-five percent represented, he was smart enough to know that only a small group of people was capable of achieving it.

"Sir, I'm Nova from the Holy Church. First time inside the labyrinth..."

"No need for introduction, I just forgot your name," When Nova was about to continue, Eric said shamelessly while he placed his hands on Nova's shoulder and got closer to him.

Nova didn't embarrass him and kept his mouth closed.

"Pack your things, we will go meet your new teammates and make your potion."

Nova nodded and packed everything properly. He didn't forget to pick up his katana.

"Sir, where is our team right now?"

"Well, they are in Winterland, but don't worry, we are near the junction of Garden of Spring and Winterland, so in about three hours, we can reach them." Eric patiently explained with a smile. He even explained it in full detail.

Nova nodded and didn't ask any questions. He and Eric started walking towards Winterland.

Eric had a detailed map of the entire first floor. It even had an approximate distribution of monsters.

So, on the way, they never encountered any monsters. To not waste any time, they also deliberately avoided them.

While walking, Nova was struggling with whether to ask the question that's been bugging him from the moment he met Eric.

'Just ask, its just a question, so no problem!'

Unable to hold back anymore, Nova asked, "Sir, Why are you selecting a random person in your team? I'm not saying your choice is wrong."

"Why didn't you form a team from your trusted friends?"

"Who said that we didn't form a team?" Eric paused, looked at Nova and continued "Before entering the labyrinth, we formed a team with few friends and even attacked the King of Winter in the first hour."

"But ultimately that attack failed and five of our members died."

"Instead of waiting another month, me and my cousin decided to choose five people and fight again."

"While searching for someone strong, I found you and here we are."

Hearing his carefree answer, Nova had an urge to tear his mouth.

'What's wrong with the Watson Family? Why is everyone lacking common sense?'

How would someone in the right mind attack the King of Winter again on the same day after five of their comrades died?

'Did the King of Winter hit so hard that they forgot common sense?' Nova could only comfort himself with wild thoughts.

"Sir, are you sure your decision is correct?"

"Don't worry. You are the only newbie among our members. The remaining four people were veterans who've been on the first floor for almost a year."

"Also, don't worry about safety. We already figured out the strengths and weakness of our opponent."
