Vanessa had taken Olivia Bennett out for dinner before she officially left the company.
"What? You left your job?" Olivia Bennett dropped her wine glass in her hand onto the tabletop in shock.
"Uh-huh! Got bored with work and wanted to get out and travel a bit!" Vanessa helped her stand the wine glass up on the tabletop, wiping up the liquid that had spilled all over the table.
"But the company has cleared your name, so it feels kind of bad that you're leaving like this!" Olivia Bennett muttered with a puckered mouth.
"It doesn't really have much to do with it, I was going to quit and leave to travel in June, but it's just a little early now." Vanessa shrugged.
"Well, I'm also jealous that you get to travel around now!" Olivia Bennett casts an envious glance.
"Hahaha, after that you can try to GAP for a year to go out and come back to work when you're tired." Vanessa suggested, "And you've got a house too, so you can worry less and save up some of your money to take for traveling."
"Later!" Olivia Bennett looks a little sad.
"What's wrong? It feels like something's happened to you!" Vanessa wondered.
"I have the house, it's in my name alone, but it's going to cost money to renovate and stuff, I guess, and I'm wondering if I should ask my boyfriend to pay for half of the renovations or if I'm going to finish on my own."
The apartment downtown was kind of finely decorated, completely ready to move right in, and Olivia Bennett couldn't spend much on renovations, could she?
"Uh, this house will be considered your new house for the wedding, right?" Vanessa asked.
"Uh yeah! I decided to stay in New York, after all, I even have a house here, so what reason do I have to leave the big city!" Olivia Bennett affirmed, "He is also following me to remain in New York."
"Hey, I can't say in your case, but with all of your 'Manual of Male Virtue' written out, I would have thought that you would have asked the man to pay for the renovations." Vanessa teased.
"Hey, that's a test of my boyfriend's character, but as far as actually involving this reality, it's kind of hard to say!" Olivia Bennett sighed.
"Well think about it, I can't give you advice!" Vanessa patted the back of Olivia Bennett's hand, according to her idea it might still be better to pay for the renovation herself, and later on if entanglements arise in the future she can still skim off the top, but she's just a bystander not a player in the relationship!
"Uh-huh, it's fine! I'll think of something myself! Let's drink!" Olivia Bennett raised her glass, "To celebrate your departure from a life of misery as a social animal and your run to a better tomorrow!"
"Come on! Bottoms up!" Vanessa's mood lifted as well!
Vanessa was planning to move out tomorrow, all her things were packed, and during the day she also gave Marissa the housekeeper to explain the situation, everyone in the villa had a day off.
By the time Vanessa arrived home, she was already drunk and unconscious, the quiet villa, darkness, she did not change her shoes on the sofa and fell motionless.
"Drip-" the villa door was opened.
"Snap--" The dark room was instantly filled with light.
The sound of leather shoes kicking and clacking vibrated up through the floor.
"Vanessa? Vanessa..." Ethan Blackwood didn't take more than a few steps to find a section of snow-white arm dangling off the couch and looked forward to seeing that it was drunken, unconscious Vanessa.
The smell of alcohol could be smelled half a meter away from her, was it because of what he said today that she was sad enough to get drunk?
Ethan Blackwood's face turned ugly! It was so unsettling!
The snow-white face was reddened by the wine, and her slender waist was leaking most of the way out due to the girl's bad sleeping position.
"Wake up~ Take a bath before you sleep!" Ethan held the girl in his arms and patted her cheeks.
Unable to wake up no matter how much he screamed, Ethan directly carried her into the second-floor room bathroom.
Bathroom.
Ethan puts the stripped Vanessa into the hot water.
"Ah~" the sleeping Vanessa moaned in comfort and warmth.
A certain man stiffened and looked at the huge dragon that was vaguely erect in his lower half.
Ethan held back, squeezed the shower gel on the bath ball, rubbed the lather, and rubbed it onto the girl's white, smooth body.
Only the confused girl wasn't honest, kicking the water for a moment, choking on it as soon as he slid helplessly into the tub in the time it took him to turn around and get a towel.
"Cough cough cough-" Vanessa coughed hard, spitting the water out of her mouth.
Ethan turned at the sound of the commotion and slapped Vanessa on the spine, "Are you stupid?!"
"You are!" Vanessa, in her drunken state, immediately retorted as soon as she heard someone bad mouth her.
"Where am I?" Vanessa opened her eyes in a daze holding onto the smooth bathtub and tried to stand up, but her body was limp.
"At home!" Ethan pressed a bubbly Vanessa back into the tub, "What are you running around for, you smell like booze!"
"Who did you go drinking with? Where did you drink?" Ethan asked angrily as he saw she was sobering up a bit, it couldn't have been another trip to 'TRANSITIONAL LIFE' to drink and bounce around?
"Oli...Olivia, the grill...Grill." Vanessa answered honestly.
"Next time you go drinking, break your legs!" Ethan's anger dropped at Vanessa's words and pinched her cheeks, his voice serious and dangerous!
"You...You're mean to me! Ooooohhhh!" Vanessa cried out with a Wow at that!
"I...No...Okay, I'll stop!" Ethan, helpless, wiped away the teardrop Vanessa had dropped, drained the dirty water, and refilled it with clean water.
"Oooh hiccup." Vanessa sobbed for a while, tired and crawling back to sleep.
