Vanessa has been at almost every business gathering Ethan Blackwood has brought her along as a date for the past five months, so this business gathering is no exception.
Vanessa hated this kind of party with no real feelings, she could only fake a smile as a tool person, this time was also the day she most hoped the original heroine would return.
After a few moments of peace as a gorgeous vase, Vanessa carefully poked Ethan Blackwood in the waist with her finger.
Ethan Blackwood turned his head to look at her with a look that asked 'what's wrong?'
"My feet are a little tired from walking, so I'll sit on the couch over there and wait for you." Vanessa padded up to his ear and whispered.
"Uh-huh." Ethan Blackwood glanced at her heels and then nodded in agreement.
As soon as Ethan Blackwood agreed, Vanessa took off merrily like a little bird, not looking at all like her feet were tired.
"Who are you to Mr. Blackwood?"
Vanessa was picking out her favorite dessert when she heard a petulant voice, at first she didn't think it was her that was being spoken about and didn't care.
Until a girl, dressed like a dainty princess, walked up to her.
"I asked you!" The girl looked exasperated.
"Miss, have you ever heard of needing to introduce yourself before questioning someone?"Vanessa turned her head to her with a cold face.
"You...You! I'm the Esposito family's daughter, Mitchell Esposito!!! What's your relationship with Mr. Blackwood, and why did he never bring anyone into the party and end up bringing you?!" Mitchell Esposito proudly introduced herself.
"Mr. Blackwood? Do you mean Ethan Blackwood? I'm just his secretary!" Vanessa drew the line with Ethan Blackwood.
"Hmph! I knew that Mr. Blackwood wouldn't bring some unkempt woman to these parties." Mitchell Esposito smiled smugly, then gave Vanessa a contemptuous look and left, quickly blending in with her little sisterhood to share the news she had poked around.
Vanessa couldn't care less about this trivial tidbit, taking the dessert to the couch and savoring it in small bites, an expression of enjoying the deliciousness to the extreme appearing on her face.
"Hahaha," a male's slightly magnetic laughter rang out next to Vanessa.
After realizing his rudeness, the man apologized in a somewhat odd accent, "Sorry! Beautiful lady you eat so adorably, it reminds me of my greedy kitty."
Vanessa blushed in embarrassment looking up at a large handsome man! Blue eyes were misty with laughter and apologies.
"Hello, I'm Daven Smith, nice to meet you, beautiful lady." Smith extended his right hand and exchanged friendly pleasantries with her.
"Hello Mr. Smith, my name is Vanessa Monroe." Vanessa reached out and shook Mr. Smith's hand back.
After a gentlemanly light shake, Mr. Smith withdrew his hand sat down next to Vanessa, and began a pleasant chat.
"Hahahaha, Mr. Smith you are really funny, it's a pleasure to talk to you!" Vanessa sincerely complimented him!
Mr. Smith is a typical Italian, romantic and spontaneous, never restricting his life.
He was brave enough to follow his dreams from his college days, and despite his family's wealth, he only chose to go and be himself, taking a year off midway through college to go to China to study Taoist culture and India to study Buddhism, and then choosing to go on an adventure trip to the Amazon jungle.
Listening to his experience is not enough for 3 days and 3 nights.
"Thank you!" Mr. Smith smiled back with a compliment, "I am very impressed with Miss Monroe's understanding of the Tao Te Ching and the Buddhist scriptures! You have such insights at such a young age."
"Mr. Smith is flattered." Vanessa's smile fills her face, "Next time ....."
Ethan Blackwood looked up at the distance with Daven Smith chatting happily with the girl in the distance, some anger in his eyes but did not go forward to turn around and continue to talk with the other group presidents around him.
"Mr. Blackwood." A man raised his glass to Ethan Blackwood and toasted him.

"High school classmate..." Natalie Rivers snaps, afraid Ethan Blackwood will say something about how they used to date, even though it was only high school then, but it sure has been a long, long time for her.
