Chapter 14 - Full Time Employees

Not only did the first batch of milk tea sell out but the rumor about a delicious milk tea being sold has also spread out.

The worker that Zhang Wei found was also working effectively to tell students from other classes about the Milk Tea.

They had even started taking preorders under Zhang Wei's command.

The salary of these students depended on the number of milk teas that they could sell.

Jiang Che decided to keep the salary of one yuan for every cup of milk tea sold.

Although the salary seemed a bit low, one student with the help of a basket or something could probably carry around 20 Milk Tea which is equal to 20 Yuan earned in one go.

For students, that was a huge amount and they didn't even need to work full hours.

Only in the morning before the class starts and after school for those students who would stay behind studying in the school and would like to drink one after the class.

In most cases, a student can earn around 40 Yuan per day by working less than 30 minutes, which totals to 1200 Yuan per month.

This was a huge amount, especially for the students.

Even some full-time jobs didn't guarantee such an amount in this rural area.

Anyways, Zhang Wei has gotten around 6 students from different classes who would like to work with him.

Zhang Wei has already talked to them about what they need to do and also bragged that their monthly income wouldn't be less than 1000 Yuan.

He also specifically aimed at students who are having financial difficulties because they would be easier to persuade.

If he asked others, then perhaps they might just think of it as a waste of time especially since the entrance exam was close.

On the other hand, those 6 students were grateful because from the job description, they wouldn't need to work for many hours but at the same time earn such a huge amount of money.

It was a win-win situation!

( Now, I need to recruit someone who can work full-time to look after the shop. )

Jiang Che thought.

Although the Milk Tea can be sold to students during the morning and after school hours, however, he didn't want to miss out on other customers plus it would be a waste to keep the shop he rented free during business hours.

Additionally, he didn't want to spend all his morning and evening making Milk Tea. It was better to hire someone and teach them than to do it himself.

( But who do I hire? )

Jiang Che pondered.

Not only does the person need to have some skill but he/she also needs to be trustworthy. Otherwise, what if the person he hired ran away with the recipe?

Although he still has many recipes, it wouldn't be good if his first venture ended up destroyed because of some traitor.

It would be great if there were more people like Zhang Wei but most of the people that he worked with in the future and mostly students like him at this period of time.

That wouldn't work!

He needs adults.

( …!!! )

"Uncle and Aunt Chen! I can ask them."

Jiang Che suddenly thought about them.

They were the best candidate that he could think of.

Not only do they have experience with such kinds of businesses but they are also someone that Jiang Che can trust.

Moreover, the profit that they can earn from their own shop couldn't be said to be very high.

At most 3000 Yuan but probably around 1500-2000 Yuan on average.

If he could offer a higher salary then it would be easy for him to recruit them.

"It is decided. Aunt and Uncle Chen would become the first full-time employee of Jiang Group in this life!"

Jiang Che said.

After school, Jiang Che immediately decided to go and ask Aunt and Uncle Chen to work under him.

Tagging alongside was Zhang Wei.

"Oh, Jiang Che, are you here again? Brought a friend as well. Do you want what you had in the morning?"

Aunty Chen asked.

"Okay, and you, young man?" Aunt Chen turned to Zhang Wei with a warm smile.

"I'll have the same as him," Zhang Wei replied cheerfully.

"Coming right up!"

As Aunt Chen busied herself preparing their orders, Jiang Che took a moment to observe.

While they waited, Jiang Che glanced around the shop. It was quiet—too quiet for a place that needs to buzz with chatter and activity.

When Aunt Chen returned with their orders, Jiang Che decided to casually probe.

"Aunt Chen, business seems quieter than I remember. Is everything okay?"

Aunt Chen's cheerful expression faltered for a moment, but she quickly masked it with a smile.

"Oh, you know how it is, Jiang Che. Things aren't what they used to be. People are leaving the countryside, moving to the cities for better opportunities. Fewer people around means fewer customers for small businesses like ours."

Uncle Chen, who had been sitting silently by the counter, nodded in agreement.

His face bore the weary lines of a man who had seen better days.

"We can't blame them," he said, his voice heavy.

"Life in the city has more to offer. Here, we barely scrape by for some months."

"Uncle, Aunt, if things are so tough, why not try something new?"

Jiang Che said carefully, testing the waters.

Aunt Chen waved a hand dismissively.

"Oh, young men like you shouldn't worry about old folks like us. Just eat and enjoy your meal."

Jiang Che put down his cup and leaned forward slightly, lowering his voice.

"Actually, I was thinking about something that might help us both. Aunt, Uncle, how would you feel about working for me? I've started a milk tea business, and I need someone trustworthy to help run the shop. I can promise you a salary of no less than 2,500 yuan a month."

Both Aunt and Uncle Chen stared at him, their expressions shifting between surprise and skepticism.

"2,500 yuan?"

Aunt Chen echoed, her tone laced with disbelief.

"Jiang Che, are you serious? That's more than we make in most months!"

Uncle Chen furrowed his brow.

"You're just a student. How can you afford to pay us that much?"

Jiang Che smiled confidently.

"Trust me, Uncle. I've thought this through. I already have a growing customer base, and with your experience, we can expand even further. I promise you that 2500 Yuan is just the starting salary and there would be much more benefit."

The couple exchanged uncertain glances, clearly intrigued but hesitant.

"Uncle and Aunt Chen, how about this? You two work for me for like a week and I will pay you each 1000 Yuan. If you don't trust me after that, I will not say anything more."

Jiang Che said.

"This... this sounds too good to be true. But if you're serious, we'd be willing to give it a try."

Aunt Chen said.

Jiang Che grinned.

"Great! I'll come by tomorrow to discuss the details and show you the recipes. You will definitely not regret this!"
