Chapter 5 - Leading to Misery

Danilo

"Are you kidding me?" Benecio dropped his bags as soon as we entered the foyer. His jaw on the ground as he took in the infinity pool that was visible from every angle of the house.

When I had been given the task of looking for a house for us to stay at during our stay in Miami I went all out. With a white modern contemporary waterfront house that had its own mini private beach. A deck spanned out from the backyard and had its own yacht.

The house was not gigantic. Exactly a five bedroom house for ourselves, Pa and Pai when they visited and a spare room just in case. We had a study slash office for Benecio for school and since I would be working at the office most of the time I really didn't care where I had a desk in the house. I figured the dining room table facing out to the pool would be a great view to get work done.

It was fully furnished because we would probably be happy with one table and couch if it was up to us. Pai on the other hand would take no part in that. I thought rent would be great but he knew the house would be a wreck and he had no desire to be sued therefore with my own pay I had to buy a house.

Adulting was not something I entirely desired.

"This is the perfect bachelor pad!" Benecio skipped to the kitchen and grabbed a cherry cola immediately before placing his Cowboy hat down on one of the couches and with a confident stride eyed the pool.

"You ain't allowed to party," Daniele chuckled as he followed on.

Benecio waved his hands in dismissal, "Don't be the boring older brothers who act like parents. Live up a little."

"Our job is to keep you out of trouble," I grinned. "And that means school and football. If you're good we'll allow a party here or there."

He rolled his eyes before he threw himself down on the couch, "you need to live a little. This little life of yours with routine and a schedule is terrible because so far all arrows are leading to misery."

Daniele's loud laugh made me all the more annoyed as he joined our brother on the second leather couch, "Just because Pai moved you to B&B doesn't mean you need to work harder to prove yourself. It's just a good break."

I rolled my eyes and pushed my sunglasses back up the bridge of my nose. They had no idea what they were talking about. "I need to go check on the office. I promised I would come in from the moment we landed."

"Bucky!" Daniele groaned, "We just landed. Let's head out for lunch or maybe call in a pizza with some hot wings. Be a little slob for once. We'll worry about work tomorrow."

I headed to the key hanger in the kitchen before grabbing three keys. I threw BMW keys to Benecio, vintage Rolls Royce to Daniele and kept the Dodge RAM keys to myself. "These are your cars. I have a spare Mercedes for emergencies. Don't crash Benecio."

He mumbled under his breath before giving me a smile, "just because I failed my license three times doesn't mean I'm prone to crashing."

"Tell that to Pa's Jeep," Daniele snickered.

"I'll be back in two hours. You can order anything you want then we'll continue the night like slobs. I just need to check on the new office," I walked over to them and kissed both their foreheads as they grunted out 'I love you's before letting me go.

I had been exploring Miami for a few weeks on and off since we had decided to move here. I knew my way around fairly well and as long as I knew how to get to the office, Benecio's university and back home was all I needed.

With a quick hop into my gigantic black truck I was on my way. Everything for me was riding on B&B. It was the only way I could climb back up the ladder of being in Pereira Enterprise good books. I had a year to change the look of B&B and present it to Pa. If he was happy with the new rebranding then I would be titled as the official chairman of B&B and that would give me a good shot at being the new CEO of Pereira Enterprise once Uncle Ronaldo retired.

I knew for myself and my brothers it was a great way to let our hair down from the over scrutinizing eyes from Pai. Yet if I wanted to play hard I had to make sure my work matched up to it.

Miami was a completely different environment to Bloom. Even as I drove down the Miami strip I could already hear Benecios wolf howls by the amount of women walking down in bikinis. A teenage boy's dream.

It was a massive change but a great change.

In an effort to impress Pa I had bought a five floor building to be renovated as a new branch of B&B in Florida. It was perfectly industrial and located close to the beach and downtown. The ground floor was converted to an open outlet store which would be selling B&B products and even had a small cafe attached to it to attract possible customers.

We would be officially opening up in a few days and the head manager wanted to give me a quick tour to make sure I was happy with the progress. The staff was being trained as well which would allow me to have a meeting with all the managers. Pa would only be coming over at the end of the month once everything was up and running.

Even though everyone thought I would have it easy with him, he was the toughest boss to please and he had no filter. If he didn't like it whether you were his favorite son or not, he would tell you the honest truth.
