The sun had barely risen, casting a soft golden hue over the estate. I stood in front of the large, arched window in my study, gazing out at the sprawling grounds below. The distant hum of the workers restoring the property was a comforting sound, one that signified a new beginning. Yet, despite the serene atmosphere, an unsettling feeling gnawed at the back of my mind.
The mysterious package had disturbed me more than I cared to admit. I hadn't slept well, my mind racing with unanswered questions. Who had sent the package? What did they want from me? And why had they included remnants of the forged documents that Damien's brother had used to try and undermine my claim to the estate?
