Chapter 1 - Magic System

The Paragon Rank

At the very top of the magical hierarchy stands the Paragon rank, a level so powerful that it is reserved for only the most exceptional individuals in the Empire. Paragons are capable of performing feats that defy the laws of nature and are revered throughout the Empire. The title of Paragon is one of the highest achievements in the Astrion Empire, reserved for only the mightiest of mages.

1.Paragon+: This is the highest sublevel of Paragon, a level of power that few have ever achieved. Paragon+ mages can bend the very fabric of reality itself, manipulating the world in ways that seem godlike. A Paragon+ mage can summon storms, shape mountains, and even alter the flow of time in small pockets. Few Paragons reach this level of mastery, and even fewer maintain it.

2.Paragon: The standard of the Paragon rank. These mages are not as powerful as the Paragon+ level, but they are still extraordinarily dangerous. They are capable of casting powerful spells with devastating effects, capable of leveling entire cities or obliterating armies. The War Saint of the Astrion Empire, Duke Casimir Varnhart, is one such Paragon. Known for his mastery over lightning, he is a living embodiment of thunder itself. His control over the storm has earned him the title God of Thunder, and his unparalleled power in both magic and warfare has made him a legend in the Empire.

3.Paragon-: The lowest level of Paragon, but still vastly more powerful than most mages. Paragon- mages are still capable of commanding vast destructive power, though they are not as refined or controlled in their abilities as the higher sublevels. Their spells are devastating, but they lack the finesse and control of their Paragon and Paragon+ counterparts.

The Archmage Rank

Below the Paragon rank is the Archmage rank, reserved for mages who have mastered the basics of elemental and complex magic. These individuals are highly respected but still far from the power of Paragons.

1.Archmage+: The highest tier of Archmage, these individuals are capable of advanced elemental manipulation, summoning formidable magical creatures, and crafting powerful wards. Archmages at this level are often sought after by noble families and the Empire's military for their power and expertise.

2.Archmage: Skilled practitioners of magic, capable of controlling elemental forces and performing complex spells. While they may not have the raw power of Paragons, they are formidable in their own right. Many Archmages hold important positions in the Empire, serving as high-ranking advisors, military commanders, or court mages.

3.Archmage-: The lowest sublevel of Archmage, still powerful but less refined in their magical abilities. They can perform basic to intermediate spells but lack the raw destructive potential of higher-level Archmages.

The Mage Rank

1.Mage+: These individuals are highly skilled and capable of wielding powerful elemental magic. Their spells can alter the course of battles and affect the environment on a large scale. However, they are still far from the might of the Archmages and Paragons. Mage+ individuals often serve as commanders in the military or senior advisers in the court.

2.Mage: The average Mage has the ability to perform spells of moderate complexity and power. They are adept at controlling elemental forces and can be highly effective in supporting roles in combat or diplomacy.

3.Mage-: These individuals are still in training, with only a basic understanding of magic. Their spells are less potent and often require much more time and effort to execute. They are often found in the service of higher-ranked mages.

The Sorcerer Rank

1.Sorcerer+: Sorcerers at this level can manipulate the elements and cast advanced spells, though they are still not quite on par with Mages. They serve as important figures in both military and civilian roles, often being tasked with specific magical duties.

2.Sorcerer: Sorcerers are capable of performing basic elemental magic, as well as various support spells. While they may not have the destructive power of higher ranks, they are valuable in specific applications, such as healing, reconnaissance, or battlefield support.

3.Sorcerer-: These individuals are beginners in the magical arts, able to perform only simple spells. They are still in their early stages of magical education and require a great deal of guidance to advance to the next level.

The Apprentice Rank

1.Apprentice+: These are the young prodigies, showing great promise in the magical arts but still in the early stages of training. Apprentices at this level are seen as talented and highly gifted, often handpicked by powerful mages for personal tutelage.

2.Apprentice: Apprentices at this level are still learning the basics of magic. They possess raw potential, but their ability to wield magic is limited. They are often under the direct tutelage of more experienced mages and receive intensive training.

3.Apprentice-: The lowest level of magical training, Apprentices at this rank struggle to harness magic. They are often used as assistants to more powerful mages and require extensive training before they can begin to wield magic on their own.
