Chapter 1 - Invisible like a glass

Maybe if he does not speak it in one breath, all his desperately gathered courage will vanish. So a seemingly college student boy says everything he was holding back hurriedly to the man in front of him. All the while tightly holding his hand: "Since the moment I met you, I became strange. My always so obedient heart starts beating erratically whenever I see you. Even a glimpse of you messes up my inside. It feels like I am not in control of my body. Sweating, stuttering... Is it the so-called fate? Do you also feel this way? Or is it only me?"

Even though the man tried to hide his excitement, his blushing cheeks did not cooperate with him. The thing he never imagined hearing, he was hearing it now from the very person he loves. Exsatic, he directly hugged the boy and whispered, "Yes, also I...I also feel the same way. The moment we crossed paths, I knew you were my destiny.".

"Damn, so cheesy." Yumin outwardly says that but still continues watching the currently hot romance movie "Fated Lovers." It is a movie with a cliche trope and even a chlicher name, but still people eat it up every time. Probably for every omega, a gentle and unwaveringly loyal lover was their idle spouse at some point in their life. Even Yumin, who claims to not believe in it, still once dreamt of meeting such an alpha.

When he finished the movie and looked at the time, it was already midnight. Still no one in sight. His so-called husband is late again. Maybe he is working overtime today as well. Maybe it is better this way. Out of sight, out of mind. In any case, when that guy comes home, it always makes him uncomfortable and on edge. He was sick of being careful not to annoy him.

Just as he was about to turn off the TV and head back to his bedroom, the sound of the key turning echoed through the big living room.

On reflex, Yumin said, "Hello. Welcome back" as soon as he saw the tall chestnut-haired man coming in. But the other person just replied with a "Mn," and silence filled the room. Maybe he thought it was awkward, so after a moment he asked, "Is Aria sleeping?"Yeah".

Aria was their only daughter and the reason behind their marriage. Luke and him met at the university. Then, even before they could get to know each other well, they accidentally had a baby. Neither Luke nor Yumin know whether they loved each other or just married out of necessity at the time. They sometimes say words of love to each other. But neither of them could truly trust it. Between them, their connection has always felt fragile and invisible, like glasses. At least that is the case for Yumin.

Seeing Yumin awkwardly standing, Luke reached out to him and kissed his forehead before saying he would be sleeping right away. Yumin was kind of hoping for a hug from him. Because one of the few good things about this man was that his hug was exceptionally warm and felt just right.

The next morning, Luke was not there when Yumin woke up. He is an early bird, while Yumin always had trouble waking up early for his work. Looking at the time, he was already late for work. Even so, he just leisurely got up from his bed to wash up.

In the bathroom, seeing his reflection, Yumin felt annoyed. His once slender waist was now chubby, and even his skin lost its lustre. He tried to fix his hair to make him appear a little less fat, but his miger talent in grooming himself did not help. Helplessly, he just washed up and grabbed his usual black pants and blue shirt from his closet and went to work. The good thing about kids growing up is that there is no need to take care of every single thing for them. Aria is already 18 this year. Already all grown up and going to medical university. Seeing her so grown up, Yumin sometimes ponders whether it is the time.

Today, work went without a hitch for Yumin. And when it was time to get off work, he did not want to go home, so he strolled through the mall. There were many beautiful clothes that caught his eye. Alas, now he was too old for them. When he was younger, he did not have the luxury to wear such clothes. Now that he can afford it, neither his face nor the figure were suitable. So after strolling aimlessly alone for a while, he went to the nearby law firm without thinking much. I got a divorce lawyer like he was ordering food from a restaurant. Yumin had no idea about the process of divorcing and did not want to bother knowing much.

Carrying a divorce paper back home with him, Yumin suddenly thought of old days.

He came from the countryside and lived most of his life with cows and his siblings. Later, he moved to the A city for higher education. He could still vividly remember the day before he set off.

Yumin was still quite excited about going to the city and living independently. That day, his father warned him three things.

First, study well.

Second, do not get pregnant early.

Third, do not marry a foreigner.

He failed in all three.
