A petite boy silently read through his book, ignoring the ruckus of his older brothers. He sat flatly on a red chair with gold rims, flipping through the pages.
"Jeremy, why won't you let me go out? I can handle all those humans all on my own!" One of his brothers, Elias, reasoned with the oldest. All of them looked alike, but at the same time not.
The petite boy, Finn, has silver-white hair cut in a two-block haircut with air bangs. He is wearing a red vest with a high collar accented with intricate white lace trimming. The vest's sleeves are trimmed with ruffles along the edges, giving it a feminine touch. The shorts are made of rich brown fabric, cinching at the waist with a drawstring and extending just below the knee. The white shirt beneath the vest peeks out, adding a contrast of soft elegance to the ensemble.
"Now, now, Elias. If it is our parent's wish, then we'll be able to go out. In the meantime, how about you talk with the others? I'm sure that'll be able to suppress your energeticness." Jeremy replied with a soft smile, patting Elias' black hair.
Most of Finn's brothers had black hair, and only 2 of them had silver-white hair inherited from their mother. Elias, Jeremy, and company had black hair. The only other one with the same hair as Finn currently was having a nap down in his room.
"But- I don't want to! The twins are all in their world, You have letters to respond to, And Finn is boring!" Elias whined, pointing at Finn. The youngest flinched at his name being mentioned, and covered his face with his book. Jeremy could only sigh at his younger brother in dismay, pinching his nose bridge. "Just... go bother someone else in the meantime. I'm busy, and your relationship with Ellie and Caleb is...like a perfect storm. And cut Finn some slack, he's the youngest and hasn't matured properly yet! Who knows, time might fly when you're having fun with him."
Elias could only grumble, slouching as he walked over to the nearby vacant seat beside Finn. "So, what are you reading?" He asked, trying to strike up a conversation with the younger vampire.
"I'm not sure if you'll find interest in the one I'm currently reading, but it's called 'Upir generations: how a young one can become a mature Vampyr'," Finn replied, his voice slightly trembling. "But... might I interest you in a book written by Hustin Moretti? It's titled 'Ways of sorcery' it also has information about enchants."
Elias crossed his legs, raising an eyebrow at the silver-haired vampire. Finn grabbed a velvet-colored book with a leather cover, showing the title of the book in gothic lettering, then passed it over to Elias.
The older vampire nodded slightly, taking the book from his hands and opening it. His red eyes swept over the title, then began reading through the first chapter. Elias quickly became submerged in the pages, blocking out every noise surrounding him. Finn snuck a glance at him before a faint smile appeared on his face. As he realized his mistake, he covered his face with the book he was currently reading.
Do not do such things! Remember your place, Finn. Remember it. He reminded himself silently, reading over each sentence of each page.
Never had the thought of taking his brother's place in succession come to him, but he yearned for it. Finn knew better, he was the fifth prince after all. A failure of a vampire.
He took a deep breath subconsciously, not minding the small bat with glowing red eyes that monitored him from beyond the window.
As quick as Finn noticed it, the small bat faded away. As if it were never there in the beginning. Finn immediately indulged himself in the book of 'Upir generations' to ignore the situation that arose earlier and found himself captivated by the words of said book. It recorded every stage, and what other vampires like himself felt during mûrir. Others felt their senses reach higher levels, while some had fallen ill which lasted for a century.
But, upon reaching the chapter of 250 or so, it began to into the studies of chasseurs de vampires. Chasseurs de vampires were originally humans but with special weapons. The parts of the weapons weren't detailed, quoted "Still, we have yet to discover any useful information about these armes de sang maudit."
This slightly upset Finn, but from the words of the author himself: Our fellow umpirs have fallen due to these armes de sang maudit, and none of these has the same ability.
