Chapter 24 - Chapter 24 - Distress Call

The tense situation in the Inner Sea led Rodgraim to be skeptical that the dark elves would deploy a large force on Vulcano.

If they dare make such reckless moves, Rodgraim can easily counter their action through forming an alliance.

In this case, the dark elves will be helpless before him.

While losing a few clients wasn't ideal, the Lord of Vulcan Star had already prepared contingencies for any consequences resulting from his actions.

"This distinguished guest, please proceed to my Hall to rest for a while," Lord Vulcan said warmly.

"Also, I have something to share with you that I believe will pique your interest."

An ambitious attitude toward Rodgraim, a young man of great potential, is how Lord Vulcan acted.

He had seen many humans enter the vast Sea of Stars.

After all, it's not very long since humanity entered the interstellar domain.

During this period, they managed to create the strong Sun Alliance and secure an important position in Space.

This makes them the most promising race Lord Vulcan has ever seen.

Recognizing that repairing his ship would take some time, Rodgraim decided to accompany Lord Vulcan to the Lord's Hall.

Confident in his abilities and armed with a super soldier serum and Black Panther armor, Rodgraim felt prepared to face any potential threats.

Seraphina, unwilling to miss out, quickly followed him.

Nebryx remained behind during the White Night to protect the Zerg altar, it was too inconvenient for her true identity to make herself known.

Upon entering the Lord's Hall, Rodgraim was shocked by its sheer richness.

The building was made out of scarce, artistic alloys.

Its interior was even more stunning.

all sorts of unknown luminous minerals formed an intricate crystal chandelier, and the floor was made of polished jade.

Rodgraim and Seraphina sat on the luxurious sofa in the reception room, where servants promptly served them earth coffee, a rich and mellow delicacy.

This place is a bit more luxurious than my home," Seraphina murmured softly, taking a sip of her coffee.

"More luxurious?" Rodgraim replied incredulously, raising an eyebrow.

At that moment, Lord Vulcan walked into the room, holding in his hands an astrolabe.

Rodgraim already had a hunch.

Astrolabes were used for recording stellar coordinates.

Many lost ships and undiscovered planets in Space are often mapped out using the said device.

Often both a chance and danger, the interstellar explorers often gambled on them to win a lot of wealth fast.

The nature of space coordinates was, in many ways, more or less the same as gambling.

"Lord Vulcan, what are you planning?" Rodgraim asked, glancing at the astrolabe.

He suspected that Lord Vulcan might want him to explore the coordinates of a specific location, a notoriously dangerous region.

If that were indeed the case, Rodgraim was prepared to refuse without hesitation.

Noticing the doubt in Rodgraim's eyes, Lord Vulcan quickly reassured him.

"Just hours ago, our reconnaissance satellite picked up a series of human distress signals coming from Moke Star in the Shining Galaxy," he said.

"As the Lord of Vulcan Star, I would find it hard to leave my post lightly. Since you're going in that direction anyway, I thought you might be willing to have a look".

Rodgraim was handed the astrolabe, and he held it suspiciously in his hands and activated the device.

Rodgraim's face changed when he did so.

The distress signals were human and his tracking identified that the signal originated from Moke Star in the Radiant Galaxy.

What made Rodgraim frown though was Moke Star itself.

Everyone knew there was an almost negligible risk factor with Moke Star.

Its desert terrain, coupled with its lack of significant wildlife, made it one of the safest planets.

Apart from the occasional sandstorms, the planet posed no real threat.

"How could anyone get stranded on Moke Star?" Rodgraim wondered, his suspicion growing.

After considering the circumstances,

Rodgraim determined he would keep the astrolabe.

He was heading for Moke Star, within the Radiant Galaxy, so he might as well investigate.

Although Rodgraim wasn't known for altruism, he couldn't ignore distress signals from fellow humans.

After hours of delicate repair work that totalled over dozens,

Aether Dominion and White Night were back in perfect working order.

Rodgraim had even ask for more resources from Lord Vulcan in exchange for trading with the wreckage of "Night Raid" ship that he had shot down sometime earlier.

With these resources, he was assured that his Yamato Cannon would be ready and working until the sun burned out.

Sitting on the command chair on the bridge of Aether Dominion, Rodgraim opened the operation panel of the ship.

The ship broke off from Vulcan's dock, and slowly as the fiery red planet shrank to the size of a palm in the distance, Rodgraim prepared himself for his next trip.

"Target: Shining Galaxy, Moke Star," Rodgraim commanded.

[Preparing for space transition]

In an instant, with a brilliant flash of light, the Aether Dominion and White Night jumped through space toward the Radiant Galaxy.

Before long, they arrived near the desolate Moke Star.

The Radiant Galaxy was ruled by a dying star, code-named "Brilliant," which was also fast approaching the end of its life.

This dim and fading star hardly produced enough warmth to the planets around it.

All three planets were therefore barren and dead worlds.

As the Aether Dominion reached Moke Star, Rodgraim opened up the communication channel and picked up a very weak distress signal.

[Here are.humans.ships.we.need help.]

[This. Seven Sea Fleet. Our ships are seriously damaged.]

[.helps.]

Rodgraim's brow furrowed.

From the surface of Moke Star, electrical storms whipped up clouds of grit laced with magnetic ore.

Those storms created chaotic magnetic fields, drastically distorting the distress signal such that almost no one could discern its full message.

"Damn weather," Rodgraim muttered, frustrated.

What he didn't notice, however, was Seraphina's reaction.

Standing nearby, her expression subtly changed when she heard the word "Seven Sea" mentioned in the transmission.

Frowning, she seemed lost in thought, as though the name carried a deeper importance.
