"I am so sorry mam, it was a mistake" Emily kept pleading with her while she struggled to blend the makeup on Vanessa's face.
"Wait until my boy hears of this, you will get fired" lady Vanessa threatened with a daring look.
Emily could just tell with the threat how the woman was related to the celebrity. Was she a worker of his? A fan? Or a relation? Either of this, besides the concerns of people for her, showed she was an important vessel.
Emily fell on the floor and pleaded for mercy at the woman's feet in order to cool the woman's temper. She even praised Vanessa by calling her the most beautiful lady she had ever sighted.
Mrs. Vanessa was undeniably deceived by this admirable praise and decided she was going to give Emily another chance.
"What is going on here?" Evan motioned into the scene with his question.
"It's okay, it had already been tackled" Mrs. Vanessa replied.
Evan turned his gaze to Emily, who was just getting up from the floor. She paused instantly on sighting him and could hardly breathe. All who noticed her could tell that there was pure love in her eyes for this fellow.
Her smile was like that of a new mother, and her eyes blinked slowly.
Her pretty long hair danced along with the sudden breeze that blew, and she felt like applying more lip gloss on.
"Who did this to you?" Evan questioned Mrs. Vanessa as he noticed her face. She motioned her direction to look at Emily. Her lips said nothing, but her action spoke more of the answer.
"Come with me" Evan instructed Emily with a cold voice.
Despite the calmness of his voice, Emily did not feel the sensation to admire it, for she knew she was in big trouble.
Her heart raced, and it skipped twice in a second rapidly.
She had many suicides attempt running through her mind just In case she got dismissed.
She would rather work as his cleaner or better still stage benchmark just to at least get a glimpse of him than live her entire life in regrets.
What had really come over her to treat Mrs. Vanessa that way? And on the day she was meeting Evan. Why did he have to come into the scene at that time? These thoughts occupied her mind, and then she began to cry as she slowed down.
She wiped the sudden tears that escaped from an eye and quickly replaced the space Evan had left her with while walking.
Evan opened a door and muttered to her to go in after him.
He sat across a table and beckoned on her to sit on the chair opposite.
Evan flipped through the pages of a book that was left open on his table while Emily anxiously watched him.
She mounted her hands on her thigh and gnashed her teeth silently. Her inept about the situation scared her the most.
Should she plead with the gentle Evan? Perhaps his heart would be as gentle as his looks.
As her fingers haptically shivered on her thigh, it gave her more reasons to be frightened.
Evan made scribbles on a paper and detached it.
He flicked his fingers on the table confused.
Emily was puzzled over this action and could only design her fate. She was calm the whole time and had her most innocent look on her face.
Her light-brown eye color was a deceiver when it came to innocence.
She wished the lorn he had kept her in would just last longer.
"I am sorry" Evan apologized after seeing he had prolonged the persecution than unusual. "You did the makeup right?" He added immediately after his apology.
"Yes sir!" Emily said softly. "I can assure you it was a mistake, I wasn't in my… "I love it" Evan snapped in before she could finish.
"Sir?" She muttered in shock.
"By the way, call me Evan" he beckoned. "I want you to make up to me for my upcoming movie. It is a horror movie and your handwork is perfect for the job" he informed her.
Emily would have loved to leap for joy at that point, but it would have been inhuman of her to do so in the presence of her boss.
"Thank you, thank you so much!" she said repeatedly as she bow in anticipation.
"Well, that won't stop you from actually giving Mrs. Vanessa a frequent makeover. "She seems to like you" he added.
Emily smile wore off immediately she heard Vanessa's name, but she didn't want this to seem upsetting to Evan, so she gladly accepted.
The fact that Evan called her Mrs. Vanessa confirmed it to Emily that the woman was either a valued worker or perhaps a friend of his.
If Evan is not her child, then who is?
"I will see you soon" Evan concluded, using his hand to direct her the way out.
Emily was lost in him even until then. His red Irish eyes was one she had never seen in any man before, strange, but she believed it made him more attractive and handsome. This was the first time she was at such a close range with him. She could see every description clearly now.
His hair was usually tied behind his back, but this time he left it independent.
Emily looked back thrice before moving on finally.
Who thought that the evil makeup she did would turn out in her favor. Now she is also one of the lucky artists to make up the celebrity.
Emily's smile was visible when she walked out. She had this bold look all of a sudden.
Tessa was the first to run to her. She was worried ever since Emily was called upon by the CEO of the industry.
"Are you okay? How did it go?". Tessa stormed at her with her questions.
" I won't be kicked out" Emily assured her.
Collin also walked to them. He showed his concern the moment he came and likewise few crew members.
Mrs. Vanessa wasn't outside then, else she would have commented too.
All there testified that Emily was saved by luck. They have never seen Evan being passionate about someone before.
While others called it luck, she called it fate.
Mr. Mike was against the motion that Emily was freed. He believed that her motive to disfigure the woman's face was intentionally done. He made sure to warn that once such repeated itself, he would get her fired.
Emily knew she would be more cautious than ever this time, bc. If it meant pleasing the annoying Vanessa just to keep her in the industry, then she is in for it.
After all, she gets to see Evan every day.
