Chapter 14 - One of these days I'll kill him (Part 4)

"I've been dealing with business, I meant to come see you but you know how it is." Marvin smiles as he begins to continue but the MC of the event interrupts him.

"Welcome to Art Basel in the Great City of Miami that features some of the best artwork from the greatest artists that bless this earth" I didn't squander this opportunity while their attention was focused elsewhere, I slipped his phone out of his back pocket and into the slit of my romper. "I hope you find our selection to your liking and I know you will all have a great night, enjoy yourselves." Francisco focused his attention back to Jean-Baptiste and gave me the side eye.

"Get rid of the Negras', we have business to discuss" Jean-Baptiste turns to me with a charming smile on his face.

"Flè mwen don't go far ok? I will come find you again." I nod and get out of view not daring to look back.

"Ni we have a problem" Of course another problem arises.

"What is it? I have the evidence just hurry up and pull the trigger so I can get out of here."

"That's the problem there's not enough people here for you to get unnoticed or for me to be ambiguous enough for me to get both of them without one of them panicking and running. I'm sure there's a back way out of there. Find it, secure it, and prepare to run I don't want you to get caught up in the crossfire"

"What? Are you planning to get into a fire fight?" My shoulders dropped a bit, the more time spent here meant a higher chance of exposure. Making a huge ruckus opens the door to investigators looking deeper into things. This needs to be a clean kill. "We can't afford a commotion; I'll find a way to make this easier for you."

"Affirmative." Ty was calm and patient he'll know the right time to strike. As I perused the gallery I started to analyze the layout of the building. The front had two stories of windows, and the foyer was lighted by two chandeliers hanging closer to the ceiling of the second level. The gallery had various open rooms with no doors or ceilings. From where Ty was looking he could see everyone present with no obstructions. However, whenever he did strike the penetrated window in the front would be the most obvious. Once he gets his shots, he has to get to out of the area cleanly and quickly or the retaliation shots that he will get back will be the end of him. I made my way to the back of the gallery and found a junction box. I took a look at my surroundings to see if anyone was near me. Everyone was in conversation, enjoying the art, and music.

"Get ready I found an opening." I made my way to the box where the power to building was controlled. I didn't hesitate to shut down the whole building and slip away towards the emergency exit. You could hear a collective groan from everyone present but no panic. These things happened, and there was enough lights from the street outside where everyone still had their senses. I hear a staff member start yelling to the crowd.

"Thank you everyone for staying calm! Give us a few minutes and we'll sort out this problem!" I started to hear people coming towards me so I slipped out towards the emergency exit on the side of the building. I was surprised to see it cracked opened and caught the smell of weed coming from outside. I took a peek to find my drunkard friend from the previous night waiting next to an escalade smoking.

"Can I help you miss?" It didn't seem like he recognized me.

"Not really, I just didn't feel like being inside that boring place anymore, didn't help that the power just went out." he smiles at me, showing his various gold teeth.

"I know what you mean. Do you want a smoke?"

"Don't mind if I do." The perfect excuse to get close.

"Ni I'm taking the shot are you clear yet?" I take a hit of the marijuana.

"Yes, I've been wanting this." I answer as I hold the smoke in my lungs. I hear glass shatter and a scream. I blow the smoke in the drunkard's face and immediately stab him in the neck with my knife that I hid in my romper. He slowly fell to the ground shock all over his face. I just smiled at him as he went down, the revenge for having to deal with that loser last night. Screams and pandemonium start to fill the air but I start to hear static from the drunkard's coat.

"Marc! Marc! Get the car ready! Nou ap resevwa soti nan isit la[1]" It sounded like Jean-Baptiste and it seems like he was on his way here. Either Ty didn't get him yet or he missed either way I stood next to the door so if he came out he wouldn't notice me. I hear heavy breathing coming closer to the door.

"Ni! Vega is down and I hit Jean-Baptiste in the shoulder but he got away. Do you have eyes on him?" The door bursts open he doesn't notice me but he notices Marc's dead body on the ground. He looks at it for a second as I come up behind him and grab his neck. Quickly he pulled my arm over his shoulder, slamming me to the ground. I twist my body so I don't receive any damage to the head. I immediately rise to my feet and get into a combat stance.

"So you're the one after my life, fine come you will have to earn it." Marvin's voice was out of breath and scared, but he gets into a combat stance as well. Studying him, you can tell that he's in a panic and his attention is split everywhere looking for more threats. The last thing he expected was to be fearing for his life. His left shoulder was bleeding profusely but he seemed to be experienced at fighting because he lead with his right instead. Then something strange started to happen to me. My vision shook slightly and I could feel my pulse start to quicken. I took it as myself getting excited, so I smiled and made the first move. I gave him a quick kick to his left ear to disorient him. It connected and you could hear a crack. He screamed out surprised and fell to his knees holding the side of his head. He didn't expect such a powerful blow from me. Without giving him a breather I went to stomp on the top of his head but he rolled away as I made contact with just the ground. Still holding on to the side of head he looked scared for his life, crawling and stumbling away from me creating distance. I walked over to him as he panted to reach the escalade. I could hear the blood pumping in my ear and my vision shook but I never felt more than this moment.

"Too bad, I actually thought you were so cute." I picked his body up from the back of his neck. I slit his throat from behind and he fell down to the ground to join his driver. My pulse started to calm as I watched the blood spill onto the ground. My vision stabilized and my mind started to calm. I took out the phones and made sure they were easy enough to break into. I didn't want to have to go back into the fray. Everything seemed to be in order it was time to make my exit. "Don't worry baby brother, I cleaned it up for you."
