After I finished eating dinner I ran upstairs to get ready to sleep. After brushing my teeth I went to bed… It was about midnight when I woke up to a knock on the door. I went downstairs hesitantly and opened the door. No one was there, the only thing I saw was a note, it had no return address, no name. Just a letter and my address. I went upstairs quietly so I didn't wake my mom. Once in my room I turned on my flashlight and read the letter it said.
Dear Melody, I had sent you a message, but I got no response, and we both know you read the text therefore it seems that you are ignoring me, and we must not have that. So, I'm giving you one chance and one chance only to meet me at this spot tomorrow at 3:00 pm at 36 Unknown Drive. Like I said in the text I will be wearing a black hoodie you better not tell a soul.

I was nervous when I read this. I had so many questions. Number one, how did he get my address? Number two, why do I need to meet him, am I going to be held hostage or worse! Something in my head is telling me not to go but the other thing in my head is telling me to go. I'm not sure what to do, I feel nervous, as if something were to happen. I decided to get some sleep. I kept trying and trying but I couldn't fall asleep. It's almost as if a voice in my head is keeping me awake.
If you go to sleep something could happen!
If you fail to stay awake something could happen to you and your mom.
After a while I finally fell asleep. It had felt like five minutes had passed but to my surprise I had woken up to my school alarm. All I could hear was, Beep Beep Beep Beep over and over again. I got up to turn off my alarm when I realized my stuff had been moved around. I went downstairs, but I couldn't forget the fact that my stuff had been moved around. "Hey mom, did you come into my room last night?" I asked worriedly, she must have noticed because this was her response. "No honey, but you look worried, is something wrong?" This is when I knew I had to come clean.
"Mom, I have to tell you something." I said, making her even more concerned.
"Yesterday I got a text from an unknown number, they told me to meet him at a spot it was 36 Unknown Drive he sounded super sketchy, so I didn't go. Then last night there was a knock on the door, I opened it, and no one was there, except for a letter. No return address, nothing! It was the same person, but they seemed angry. He told me if I did another no show there would be consequences. Then when I woke up this morning my stuff was moved around. And he said not to tell anyone about this."
When I told my mom this, she looked like she had seen a ghost.
"You need to do as the person says, ok?" "O-" My mom cut me off right there and told me what I needed to do. As I prepared for school my mom told me good luck and to be safe. This was just a little strange.

It's not safe.
Don't go to school.
I couldn't get out of that gut feeling that school wasn't safe. I knew that I should always trust my gut so I skipped school, and I know that sounds bad, but I don't want to get hurt so I decided to go back home. My mom was at work so she wouldn't know. I went to my room and cleaned a little. Then there was a knock at the door. I swear I heard the door open and to my horror I heard footsteps. They slowly came upstairs towards my room. I didn't know what to do so I hid in the closet under clothes.
I called my mom, panicked. I had no idea what to do.
"Mom, I need help." I whispered quietly because I didn't want the intruder to hear me.
"What's going on? Where are you?" Asked my mom, now panicking.
"I'm in my closet. I had a feeling that school wasn't safe, so I went home!" I said on the verge of tears.
As I finish my sentence, I hear my door open!
My mom said that she was coming as fast as she could, but she was not fast enough.
