A few months had passed since my birth, and the shock of my new reality was still settling in. It was surreal to discover that I had been reincarnated into one of the novels I used to read back in my world—The Lore of Crimson Knights. This book had a massive fanbase and was renowned for its world-building. Luckily, I had read it multiple times because of how fascinating it was.
But the biggest problem was my role in this world. I was the third-born of the Crimson family, the so-called "bastard son" afflicted with a deadly disease called Advencia Nirvosa, which had no cure at present.
Scene Change to Present:
I woke up to the feeling of being gently lifted. It was my mother, Erica Crimson. She picked me up and held me close, the warmth of her embrace was calming and secure—feelings reminiscent of the hugs I received from my own mother in my past life. It was a brief comfort in a world that felt both familiar and strange.
Narrator:
Luck and unluck are two sides of the same coin, varying only in intensity. Near the palace, a dark cloud loomed in the bright sky. It was a demon that had escaped from the gates of hell and sought a host in the overworld. The demon found its chance when it entered the grand palace, seeking a suitable host.
In a twist of fate, the demon approached the room where Luke and his mother were spending time. A loud bang erupted on the door, forcing it open. The dark shadow advanced toward the child. Erica, seeing the threat, shouted with all her might, "HOW DARE A DISGUSTING DEMON LIKE YOU ENTER THIS ROOM! I WILL SLAY YOU!"
It might sound strange, but Erica was no joke with a sword. Known as the "Flower of the Daxin Kingdom" had another name "Death Queen," for her unmatched skills . As she placed Luke in his cradle and unsheathed her sword, she slashed at the demon. To her shock, it was an illusion—the demon had already moved beside the newborn.
Soon, its foggy form began to enter the child through his mouth. Erica's heart broke as she realized her powerlessness to protect her son. Suddenly a reddish black aura appeared behind luke. the dark aura surrounding Luke began to push the demon aside, and the creature was forced back.
Lucifer's Perspective:
Amidst the chaos, a holographic panel appeared in the air, bathed in a blood-red light. It displayed an attribute called the Fallen Angel's Blessing. Luke began to levitate, and a dark silhouette formed behind him. The words that followed sent shockwaves through everyone present.
"I am LUCIFER MORNINGSTAR, the fallen angel of heavens and king of hell."
Narrator:
The appearance of one of the five primordial demons sent chills down everyone's spines. Even Ryan Crimson, normally unflappable, appeared stunned. The scene was breathtaking as Lucifer manifested a scythe and destroyed the demon with a single, powerful swing.
With the threat neutralized, the dark silhouette vanished, and Luke fell unconscious in his cradle. The danger had passed, but the events left an indelible mark on everyone present.
Scene Change: The Crimson Estate
Ryan and Erica Crimson, deeply distressed, sought the counsel of their most trusted friend and ally, Hiesenberg—the Mage of Calamity. Known for his mastery of divine magic and his ageless wisdom, Hiesenberg was a figure of immense respect and authority.
The mage arrived and examined Luke with careful scrutiny. His gaze fell upon the blood-red attribute display that lingered in the air. After a long moment of intense concentration, Hiesenberg's face grew serious.
"This child," Hiesenberg began, his voice heavy with the weight of his findings, "bears a magic attribute that is both rare and powerful. This dark magic, though formidable, is a sign of immense potential. It is an ancient and feared force, once erased by the gods due to its destructive capabilities, but it also possesses unique properties that could be highly advantageous."
Ryan and Erica exchanged glances, their initial fears tempered by Hiesenberg's words.
"The disease known as Advencia Nirvosa has blocked his mana pathways and is typically considered incurable by conventional methods," Hiesenberg continued, his voice tinged with hope. "However, this dark magic could be the key to a solution."
Ryan and Erica were relieved to hear that, despite the severity of the disease, the dark magic within their son had potential benefits.
Two Years Later
In the two years that followed, Luke had grown into a very obedient and hardworking child, his unwavering determination evident in everything he did. Unbeknownst to everyone around him, Luke was aware of the upcoming events and followed his parents' plans with assurance. He understood that aligning himself with their strategies would be advantageous for his future aspirations to become a great and powerful man.
Luke was also fully aware of his condition, Advencia Nirvosa. However, he left the management of the disease to his parents, trusting in the Mage of Calamity's abilities. In the novel he had once read, Hiesenberg was known for his remarkable skills and had famously found the cure for the same disease in his granddaughter. This knowledge provided Luke with confidence in the mage's expertise and the hope for his own eventual recovery.
Scene Change: The Crimson Estate
Hiesenberg returned to the Crimson estate with renewed determination. He approached Ryan and Erica with important news.
"I have made significant progress in my research," Hiesenberg announced. "While Advencia Nirvosa has been a significant challenge, the dark magic within Luke provides a unique opportunity. By forming a contract with the demon residing within him, we can leverage its healing properties to counteract the effects of the disease."
Ryan and Erica, though still concerned, were heartened to hear that the dark magic might offer a solution. The contract would use the demon's powers to help restore Luke's mana pathways and treat his condition.
The path ahead was uncertain, but the prospect of utilizing the dark magic for healing brought a new sense of hope for their son's future.
