As we crossed the Rift and returned to the real world, the blinding sunlight bathed the land, and the familiar air rushed past us. Ariana and I stood atop a hill, overlooking the land that had once been shaken by the Rift, now restored to its original tranquility.
"We're finally back." Ariana took a deep breath, feeling the warm wind. "It all feels like a long dream."
I gazed into the distance, yet I could still feel the energy pulsing within my ring. Though the power of the Rift device was now under control, it remained a part of this world, and its existence meant that it would never truly disappear.
"But the dream hasn't ended." I spoke softly, sensing the runic energy coursing through me. "The Rift still exists—it's just temporarily balanced."
"You mean it could spiral out of control again?" Ariana asked with a frown.
