As the dangers in the depths of the forest escalated, Suella and I found ourselves cooperating more frequently. Her calm and decisive nature became the key to avoiding danger, while I began using the power of my ring to support her.
While passing through a dense thicket of brambles, we were suddenly surrounded by a patrol of mechanical beasts. These creatures moved swiftly and were equipped with powerful ranged weapons, clearly posing a greater challenge than what we'd encountered before.
"Don't move," Suella whispered, crouching down and pressing her fingers against the ground to feel for vibrations. "They're sealing off our retreat."
"What do we do?" I asked quietly, trying to suppress my rising fear.
"Follow my instructions," she said, pointing toward a rock in the distance. "Go over there and use your beam to draw their attention. I'll take care of them from the flank."
I took a deep breath and nodded. "Got it."
