"Hey! Shouldn't you thank me properly?" A familiar voice rang out from between the intertwining branches of the treants.
"Kress!" Matthew and I exclaimed in unison.
I turned to Matthew in surprise. "You know this guy?"
Matthew raised an eyebrow and let out a cold snort, his tone dripping with disdain. "Of course I know him. He's one of our employees at the Aurora Hotel."
Upon hearing Lorne and Eliza's exclamations, Kress flashed a mischievous grin. "Oh, busted? I guess I should introduce myself properly then." He lightly leapt down from the thick branches of the treant, landing smoothly on the ground and brushing off the dust from his clothes.
"Who are you?" Lorne frowned, his voice low and filled with suspicion. His mind was in chaos, his head feeling like it had been struck by lightning. How could Kress be connected to the Aurora Hotel?
