I barely had time to catch my breath after the day's endless whirlwind when Liui intercepted me in the hallway, her sharp eyes fixed on me with an intensity that made my steps falter.
"What is it now?" I narrowed my gaze. "Trying to pick a fight with me again?"
"No," Liui didn't rise to the bait. "I just… Can we go somewhere else to talk?"
Her words, unexpected as they were, only fueled my suspicion. "No way. Just say whatever you need to here," I scoffed, crossing my arms.
She hesitated, her lips pressed together like she was deciding whether to speak. Finally, she asked, "Earlier… You were able to control mana like that… Was it Riegnel who taught you?"
