I had learned that progress was born from pain. But watching Ren writhe under the effects of my Manaburn spell made me question if it was worth it.

"Does that mean… my magic power needs to be stronger than Luna's to counteract her spell?" Ren asked, his voice tinged with a mix of determination and unease.
"More or less," Nel shrugged. "You have the LIGHT EMBLEM. That is the strongest element for countering curses or any dark magic. Plus, your FORCE EMBLEM gives you an edge too, as it gives you the ability to sense and manipulate energy with precision. That should be a perfect combination to counter her spell."
"Got it," Ren said with a sharp nod. Then, with a flourish that seemed to summon courage from his ruby eyes, he clenched his fists and took a step forward. "Luna, I'm ready!"
"Are you sure?" I hesitated as I looked at him, my voice quieter than I intended.
